  1. Just in case someones interested http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-E46-M3-...sQ5fAccessories
  2. Your right and as the kiwi dollar is strong, I tossed a coin yesterday and have made arrangements to phone RacingBrake.com today and finialize the make up of the kit, brake pad combinations etc another thing I will be checking is if they can provide a rear kit including calipers rather than me just buying the rotors and see how that adds to the cost.
  3. Hi Guys I have been doing some research on up grading my brakes, the catalyst for these hours of trolling the web. Hampton Downs back in May, it was a great day had a lot of fun and the car went well. Had the lap timer going, had a play with tyre pressures(see grooves of doom), recorded 1.24.8 but the timer stopped after only 2 sessions. Went home as usual with a big smile on my face next day went down to the local café for coffee but bugger me I had a bit of steering wheel wobble when braking. Car to mates garage, car on the hoist, wheels off Axxis Ultimate pad cooked. Now the steering wheel wobble could either be uneven brake pad deposits or warped rotors ether way I have to spend some money. Firstly I like to thank the guys I talked to at the BMW Drivers day late in May I was going to follow the advice given “slotted rotors and up rated brake pads†until I did the sums, here I go Using my standard calipers Quote from Race Brakes 4 corners 4 X One piece slot DBA(heavier than standard same size) Cost $ 1100 NZ Up-rated Pads Cost $ 806.62 NZ Caliper Rebuild kit Caliper guides upgrade Cost $ 220 US = 312.41 NZ + $ 50 for shipping & GST = 362.41 Total $ 2269 Turner Motorsports Standard M3 floating fronts +slotted rears +brake pads + shipping +GST Cost $ 2,190.24 Caliper Rebuild kit Caliper guides upgrade Cost $ 220 US = 312.41 NZ + $ 50 for shipping & GST = 362.41 Total $ 2552.65 Quote from Race Brakes NZ front only AP Racing Front 330mm 4 pot kit (17†wheels) is $3830 plus gst = $4308.75 Up-rated Pads Cost $ 806.62 Slotted Rears Cost$ 253.12 Total $ 5368.49 XYZ NZ 330 x 32 floating rotor/6 piston brake kit with sprt/race pads Cost $2490 Slotted rear rotors Cost $339 pr Performance pads $118 Total $ 2947 Floating is now not available. The fixed rotor kit is $2390 Massive Brakes 332 X 32 6 pot calipers front only $1700 US $ 300 US shipping Total $ 2000 US = $ 3193.92 incl GST still have to add pads and rear rotors but would be cheaper than below as the rear rotors would only be slotted one piece RacingBrake US 332 X 32 4 pot calipers front + full floating 2 piece rears +pads + shipping +gst = 4556.01 The other problem with Massive and RacingBrake as I require 20mm spacers to fit them under my 7 1/2" street rim but they work fine with my track rims and my 10mm spacers
  4. front axles $1700 US plus $300 US shipping so $2925 NZ plus GST $3290.62
  5. No but thanks any way for the offer
  6. Thanks JiBI have done a lot of googling and book marked the kits that should work, even got in touch with DHC motorsports nz for quotes on AP racing kits $3800+GST. So I'll probably be buying a kit from overseas. But just thought I would put it out there just in case someone had a kit laying around as I’m a very optimist person
  7. Hi all Looking at purchasing a BBK for my 1997 E36 M3, still require them to fit my 17†wheels. PM me if you think you may have something I’ll be interested in. Cheers
  8. Ground Control Get in touch with them they are very helpful
  9. E36 M3 setup Hi Swordfish Hope the link works if not search under sweetm3 I have done a write up on my setup.
  10. Jason thanks for the heads up on my time, trouble with my driving no 2 laps are the same ha ha ha I had the most trouble staying in my seat on the hair pin (always have trouble with the hair pins "slow in fast out "maybe I'm to old to learn) And I kept bangng my head on the roof coming over the crest of the hill on the front straight. As for catch your breath moments: When signalling the lady with the chequered flag, just raise your hand DONT LOOK theres a corner coming up quick. Watch out for MR5's racing each specially when one of them losses it and spin in front of you, half way down corner 1
  11. Hi Guys just got back as you would expected I had a lot of fun, some damp laps but mostly dry. Really pushed the 888's through the sweeper at the end of the front straight................ and every where else for that matter what a difference compared to my road rubber (on the track of course) Had the drivers side in the dirt once off the hair pin and was told that my front left was air borne over corner 3. For those interested they had 3 Orange E36 race cars out there that you could hired for $40.00 for 4 laps plus a warm down lap. Great value.
  12. Hi Guys, anyone else going out to Hampton Downs tomorrow with Playday? I have had my BBS 17 X 8 rims, shod with 235 R888's, these have been sitting in my garage for a couple of months so I have been hanging out for a chance to use them. I had the rims power coated black and they look great on the car. [e] Ive removed the photo but please feel free to resize it and repost it. Sorry
  13. I spent about a year hoping a set of second hand 8.5 X 17, 38-41 offset would come up, I also checked out NZ & Oz for a new set. To get a full set of 8.5's you either buy 2 new sets and split or import from the states. gave up in March settled for a set of 8". BUGGER
  14. JMP Freight Brokers, I used them to arrange for a set of alloys to be sent from Christchurch to Auckland cost approx $70.00.PH 09 2692517 Ask for Maud.
  15. Powder Coat approx $25.00 a rim looks great, cheaper than paint in a can and no sanding
  16. Greg I fitted a Big Boy clutch stop from the states only to fine when my 97 M3 got up normal driving temp I couldn't get it into first gear even when adjusted to the lowest point. The people at the lights must have been thinking what the hell's he up to as I disappeared below the dash trying to take it out. So mines sitting in the garage. I ended up changing the clutch hose to braid, made a hellva difference. Just a note, there are 2 different types of clutch hose connections at the time I brought mine the braid clutch hose from the states only came with the standard connection not the one for my 97m3 which has a pressure switch so I had to have some mods made to it. Not hard or expensive.

Hi Mate PM me with your contact details Thanks
  19. Mine went 3weeks after my inspection 2 service, I asked how it wasnt picked up "JC sometimes they just go with no warning" Needless to say that was an expensive month
  20. Sounds like a collapsed water pump bearing.
  21. Hi Guys I haven't found any 17 X 8.5 track day rims yet, but I have brought four 8.0 inch rims in the mean time. So the next question which tyre size Toyo R888 235 X 45 X 17 or Toyo R888 235 X 40 X 17 The 235 X 45 are 2.41% larger than standard : @ 100km/h speedo reads 97.5 The 235 X 40 are 1.26% smaller than standard @ 100km/h speedo reads 101 Cost wise the 235 X 45 are about $ 200 cheaper Hell does it matter :-)
