I think smoking is good... it helps us raise much needed taxes (heavy taxation on cigarettes) and it helps get rid of people to delay the looming possibility of over population, people can do w/e makes them happy as long as they're not smoking around me Good philosophy though... Smoke heaps, pay lotsa taxes, die young - gotta love the whole survival of the fittest thing....

whoa! $43.8k's too much for a 98 boxster! there's a 2002 one on trademe atm for $45k!
-
Very small upper-class yet there are more than 2000 cars on trademe going for $40k+, I don't get how NZ, with such a low average earnings figure per household (I've been quoted figures from $20-50k) can afford such cars, or indeed have so many expensive cars floating about, only explanation I can think of is car dealers over exporting expensive cars, which I don't think is true! Is there a secret hidden underground upperclass society somewhere, or is the average joe on $30k per annum really out to buy a $40k+ car O_O I'm sorry for being off topic, but this is something that I've been curious about for a while!

Sorry, absolute stupidity on my part! Diabetes is indeed a non-communicable disease! Me not thinking.

Can't be true, check out NZDep index, majority of suburbs in counties manakau are really high in NZDep index (meaning they are most deprived socioeconomically), other statistics backing this up = high rates of infectious & non-infectious disease in counties Manakau (eg diabetes) which I have been unfortunate enough to have to do an essay on this a mere few hours ago... Oh the horrid memories! And comparing NZ to PNG just doesn't make any sense! Obviously there are worse places to live, but that certainly doesn't mean counties Manakau is a good place to live. (I personally haven't had any probs there, I regularly goto the uni campus in G.I. never had any probs with car being broken into etc, even tho a lot of my m8s have had their cars broken into there, I've actually left the windows down once in my old car and nothing was taken) But the statistic do speak for themselves - Counties Manakau lags behind, say the North Shore, economically, infectious disease wise etc.

The moronic comments by 15 year olds were really enjoyable Judging by his reserve price it looks like he thinks he can reclaim the money he spent on the mods lol.

Perhaps there should be more accountability for people that do WOF? I personally know this guy who passes almost every car taken to him which isn't too encouraging having some old wreck with a hundred diagnosed problems on the road, similarly getting rejected for stupid minor stuff is just an annoyance!

The government should invest in reading classes

I thought you keep left all the time when there are no lanes on the road O_O. At any rate it wouldn't really be feasible if everyone on the motorway kept left (congestion) but saying that, in my scenario I was doing 89km/h which is the maximum legal limit, so why shouldn't I use the fast lane O_o -

What's more accurate speedo or GPS? My navman S90 read abouts 5-8km/h less than speed, so when needle is at 110km/h GPS reads something like 105km/h. -
Did they have man and woman boobs at this parade? I can swear one of the pics from the tv3 site shows a dude with man boobs standing next to a chick in the parade.

Simply so that people can recognize the difference between a sign that says (80) and one that says (100) to decrease fines, accidents and overall stupidity of drivers. I was on the motorway, just got of the harbor bridge (on the north shore side of things) and some moron's behind me high beaming me as I was doing 89 KM/H then he changes lanes and speeds off!!! Do those temporary (80) signs mean anything at all? when in such an area I try sticking to that limit, and I get overtaken by almost every driver around O.O

I personally can't stand ze average civic/pulsar/other random jap car with a big muffler to compensate for things the driver lacks. So me all for it.

ahh I'm disappointed I thought for a second u meant a real one

Three thumbs up In general, I think thats why people do such things to their cars (chroming, lowering etc) which in their eyes makes the car look alluring to other people - as Apex has pointed out, it just doesn't do that - I, like most people on here think putting chromes etc on such a car only makes it look cheap, NOT alluring!!! This ain't a 50 cent video!

Yep, generally they wont let a car go below a certain price, good thing with turners is they dont really lie to you (as far as I know) so they will disclose any major problems. But yeah they normally will see how far the price goes up and if it doesn't reach the 'reserve' they'll talk with the owner about 'possibly' letting it go for a lower price. Sometimes the bastards themselves bid on the car to raise the price, and if it doesn't sell they just relist, its wat happened with my ex-car, they took the bids right up to the exact 'reserve' price the auctioneer had quoted me on the fone, then they stopped bidding.

Apparently has some problem with noise, check out the mechanical report. As much as I do LOVE that AC schnitzer kit, it has caused great problems for my mate, who has a 2001 520i with it on, apparently its a bitch going up driveways with it, because the E39 is already low, and the extensions on the front bumper make things worse. Also.. Always thoroughly check out bodykit'd cars, because we all know most middle-aged men dont like sticking bodykits on cars

Post facelift (2001) 520i isnt really underpowered imo... 173HP (from memory), a difference of about 11HP from my 525i. In regards to Singapore imports, my car is one, no problems at all, got a good deal on it, all service history, everything was checked and break pads replaced, spare key etc for a price that rivals all the ones on trademe.
