    The 850CSi is home

Cain - nope! I'll be in Melbourne! The intake manifolds aren't that bad, but they are going to be impossible to clean properly when they are still attached to the engine. Might as well do a proper job of it I think. Just spent nearly an hour removing the batteries, damn those Germans had a sense of humour when putting the car together, they never intended anyone in NZ to try and pull it apart 15 years later
  2. Can't drive it yet, took it from the compliance centre over xmas to get the front bumper off to take it to a panel beaters, and to give it a damned good clean on the inside. It is without doubt the best sounding car I've ever heard, and you just can't beat the way that revving it up from idle twists the entire car with the torque from the engine. I'll do an oil change and other various things too if I get the time. Might even take the intake manifolds off and get them pro-coated or something. They look terrible! And I've decided to keep the wheels, I've got a set of 235/45/17's for the front already, pity they don't make GSD3's in 265/40/17 for the back so I can have a matching set. Might need to go with FK452's or T1R's
  3. Pity it only has the 4 speed auto. arghh my CSi is so close now!
  4. I've had 4 sets of Goodyear GSD3's now, 225/50/16, 215/45/17 x2 and 235/45/17 and I really do like them a lot, I would find it very hard to change to anything else, and I find it very hard to consider tyres which are a lot more expensive without any real world gains. Unfortunately they don't make them in 265/40/17.
  5. Anyone that is interested in my E31 850CSi wheels, please let me know. They have 4 tyres on them from varying brands, but they will get you through a warrant ok. 17x8" 10mm offset front with 235/45/17's on 17x9" 19mm offset rear with 265/40/17's on
  6. Yeah, he has some that might be replica's, we are yet to decide upon a price How much will you buy my shooting stars for? They will be with 4 tyres of varying quality, but they all have a lot of tread, from about 5mm to brand new. That will give me a budget to buy the M-Par's with
  7. Tried that out on the V12, and yes it does actually work! I did it with a $2 coin and it was fine. I tried with a $1 coin too and it worked, including startup of the engine. Didn't try revving it, didn't want the coin being blown away and flying off somewhere in the engine bay The side of the new 20c and 50c pieces is sort of rounded and it was difficult to get them to stand up on the engine even with it not running at all, so I gave up.

    nfs pro street

My take on the game series: I've purchased every copy of NFS since the very original 'The Need For Speed' I liked all of them on their release, and in particular nfs hot pursuit 1&2 and underground 1&2. Most Wanted annoyed me a bit because there wasn't much car customisation to do at all compared to underground 2, but the cop chases were awesome and more than made up for it. The cars handled really funny too, worse than UG2. Carbon was just stupid. car customisation was crap and the cops were only there to be annoying. Car handling was the same, terrible. The only thing that was good was the downhill canyon races, they are awesome and I still play the game for that purpose. I regularly play UG2, infact I played it last night, I like how the modifications are just so open and wide ranging. I will be getting Pro Street tomorrow morning and I intend to play it for most of the weekend, I am also getting Crysis tomorrow morning - don't expect to see many posts from me at all
  9. any chance you could email me some pics? otama@ihug.co.nz I may also be after some 265/40/17 rear tyres for the car, prefer either T1R's, FK452's or similar. 540is - only once I've got some really nice wheels on the car. My dream wheels would be M-Parallel 37's in 18x8 and 18x9.5" If you want my wheels you will have to find me a pair
  10. You can't do 18x9.5" for my 850CSi?
  11. What sizes, widths and offsets are available for the M6 ones?
  12. yeah if you $1 res something, you should follow it through. I regularly put up things with $1 res and most of the time the auction goes for more than what I thought it would.
  13. Nahh, he should leave it to me TBH though I think it will go for a lot of money.
  14. I'm gonna be flat broke for a bit, but if it goes for a small amount I might just get it Just searched on the plates website, 850CSI is already taken, and I know there is only one other csi in the country! I will have to track him down and ask him if he has the plate or not.
  15. We will see I'm used to expensive maintainence costs on cars, I can't see it being much worse than my VR-4. And yes it will be the biggest petrol eater in the club!
  16. been speaking to bmwarehouse in hamilton and Graeme there is going to find one for me
  17. The foglight was smashed by the owner in Ireland, but he supplied a spare one which is in a box on the passenger seat, so that doesn't matter at all. The front splitter was damaged at some point during transit, I hope it isn't too expensive to fix!
  18. yeah I wasn't sure which way they should go ahh well. The tyres a mixed up as well, there is a single Dunlop SP9000 on the drivers side rear, a Michelin Pilot Premacy on the drivers front, a random brand I've never heard of on the passengers side rear, and anotherbig brand name tyre on the passenger side front. Fortunately I've got a pair of 2000km old 235/45/17 GSD3's for the front, but I'll have to go out and get something for the rear ones. It sounds amazing
  19. There is about 25 pictures there, here are some of the better ones
  20. http://www.clubvr4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=27995 Lots of pics there
  21. Cain - so do I, but I don't think it is going to happen. It will be out of the Ports on the 12th to go to compliance, I just can't see it being done and registered in such a short amount of time. However if it is done, you can expect me to be there first!
  22. Just had an update, it is landing on the 8th, next thursday Now what I want to know, is why the f**king hell do I have to pay GST on both the value of the car, and on the freight to get it here. WTF? I knew I had to pay GST on the car (and I still disagree with it somewhat) but on the freight?
  23. nahh in Auckland, they want me to go down to wellington. Feel free to come up and see me though
