  1. Every few months one will turn up for $12k or so, I just don't have that much at the moment!
  2. Maybe a year? I think the cheapest bet will be to wait for a $10-15k 850i to turn up on trademe and buy that then nick all the parts I need to replace from the car, then resell it to a bmw spare parts place. It will be cheaper than buying new parts.
  3. Yeah the 850CSi won't be on the road for a long time due to rust. At least $10k of parts is needed. I knew it was in average condition though, I bought it because it was the first RHD 850CSi with dual air bags I had seen in two years of searching. A few months after I bought mine 2 more turned up for sale on the web, but if I had waited I probably wouldn't have been able to get them into the country before December 31st when the emissions rules changed. Ahh well, it is a long term project, I can still say I was 23 and owned a 380hp 5.6L V12 6 speed manual super car that retailed for 78000 pounds back in 1994, equal to about NZ$330k now with inflation
  4. also check out e31.net and check the specs there, no such thing. Mine is still better, even if it isn't on the road and won't be for a long time! V12 > V8
  5. Yeah the big purple one sitting there And no there isn't an 840CSi. There is an 840i with the 4.0L, the 840Ci with the 4.4L. Where the confusion lies is that in the last few years of production you could buy 840Ci's with the full 850CSi body kit on them
  6. It's nice, but hard to see him getting that much for it. Anything over $30k would be hard to get. And anyway, THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS AN 840CSi. There is only one CSi, it has a 5.6L V12 and I have one
  7. If they enforce me to pre pay I just drive off and give them the fingers. I always dress cleanly and always look respectable, they have no reason to think I will steal petrol. I drive either a company car clearly signwritten, or my VR-4 which has a personalised plate. The company car is a 2006 Corolla, hardly likely to steal petrol in that now am I?
  8. lol, read about that a little while ago. I think that Cain is right I wonder if there are radar guns used in the middle east at all, maybe that explains some of the fatalities?

    PC for Sale

A friend of mine asked me to build a PC for him and just after I had bought all the parts he told me he had been made redundant and needed to put it off a few months. Anyway, I have had the parts sitting here since Monday and I figured I might as well put them all together and try to sell them. I will offer it all on here for a week, then put it up on trademe. Anyway, the specs are: Intel C2D E6550 2.33ghz CPU Asus P5K-SE Motherboard 2x Hynix 1gb DDR2-667 Ram XFX 7600GS 256mb Graphics Card Seagate 160gb SATA HDD Asus 16x DVD+-RW Procase CS17 Case Microsoft Comfort 2000 Keyboard + Mouseset Windows XP Pro Normal wholesale for this is $1002, I'll sell it for $900, normal retail would be around $1150 or so. It is of course customisable, if you want more space an extra Seagate 160gb hdd will be $45, and an extra Seagate 320gb will be $95. If you would like 4gb of ram, it will be another $65. To upgrade to a Gigabyte 8800GT Graphics Card (capable of playing any game out there) will be $300. To change to Vista Home will be about $50 less, I would suggest staying with XP though.

    Personalised Plates

DATE ME is parked on Olive Rd in Penrose everyday, it looks nice. I have 6A13TT for my Legnum, suits it well (google it)

    E65 745i

I'd go with an E38 purely due to looks. They are also cheaper and there are more NZ new ones out there. They also won't depreciate much more
  12. I drive around in the company car all day long going to various 5-20 computer networks our company supports, as long as I bill more than 5.5 hours a day I can do pretty much what I want
  13. I can limit myself to 4 McLaren F1 Long Tail with the LM engine and gear ratios Z-tune R34 GT-R BMW 850CSi (got that one) Legnum VR-4 (got that one too) But here are some other cars I would kill to own. And yes, if anyone wants to give me a Z-tune or a Mc F1, I will kill anyone you're willing to name in NZ! Eleanor Mucielargo LP640 Mercedes SL65 AMG Audi RS6+ Avant with MTM tuning pack Bugatti EB110 SS 997 Porsche Turbo with the variable turbos 69 Corvette 454ci MkIV Supra with the Toyota V12 engine and a pair of GT28RS's Series 8 FD RX7 Type A with a 20B upgrade. Audi Q7 V12 TT ferrari F40 ferrari 250 gt california spyder Aston Martin DB9 BMW E39 M5 Bentley Brooklands Coupe (2007)
  14. Melow - how much would you pay for them? I might buy it if it has no rust
  15. imo every auction on trademe should start at $1, if an item never gets near reserve, maybe, just maybe the people might figure it out.
  16. How about he sells the car for $7.5k, and gives the buyer a free set of normal decent wheels.
  17. I like the 135i myself. The 335i is a nicer looking car, but I like the idea of a smaller and lighter car with the same motor

    Footastic

I haven't been to a Foo's concert, but I've seen about 3 DVD's of theirs and the thing that impresses me is his intensity and 100% commitment to making as much noise as possible
  19. My 850CSi would have to be up there. Rated at 280kw at the engine.
  20. For me I drive a company car 5 days a week, my weekend cars only get driven once every 2nd weekend or so, so petrol price doesn't really worry me a huge amount. TBH if it got to $2.50 and there were less cars on the road and less traffic jams I'd be happy!
  21. Impressive! Such a good looking car as well
  22. mrad, any idea on how wide the wheels are and what offset? I'm guessing they are staggered?
  23. thats a lot of money for a bloody ugly car! I'd prefer to spend less than that on some of those pristine E38 750iL's on trademe (nz new too)
  24. I would have preferred it if they had fiddled with the V12 and made a truely unique car. imho it's just another supercharged v8, why not buy a 5 series? (well apart from the ugly front lights /throws up)
