  1. The reason I'm asking is that Penry said he thought they were 18x9.0" rather than 18x9.5" and I just wanted to confirm that
  2. You still haven't confirmed the offset and width for me, I really want these wheels
  3. nahh it's in Christchurch. I drove an 850i in Auckland with M-Par's on it, it was dark blue and had done about 178,000km. It was very nice, but the looooong gearing and big gaps between the gears really put me off. A 5 speed auto would be nice, but 6 spd man is so much better
  4. I was close to buying that car before I found the CSi. The red looks awesome, and the black leather is nice too. Can't go wrong with M-Par's! I just couldn't live with a 4 speed auto though!

    lol, trademe at work
  7. lol yeah, they are absolutely useless. The first women I spoke to said everything was on the website, then I said that the website clearly says nothing on there is to be taken as legal advice or is accurate, and that I thought by calling them they would be able to give me the correct answer. The lady replied 'all I know is you have to check the website' I hung up on the stupid bitch, called back again and got someone that refused to acknowledge the existance of BMW 8-series cars and said she had only heard of 3,5 and 7.

I've asked a question on your auction worded in a way that you can post your cell phone number without getting in too much trouble if you want to. Now you just need another BS member to ask you if you'd swap for another ratio, and you'll be sorted!

    2000 740i

It isn't a 12, although it does have M-Par wheels If anyone buys it, I'll take the wheels!
  12. big heavy wheels = big increase in petrol usage
  13. On wednesday morning I had someone try to cut into my lane on Great South Rd in Penrose going north, turning left into Church St. Anyone that drives that in the mornings will know that lots of wankers sit in the right lane until right before the intersection to save 10 seconds or so and then swerve across three lanes. He was right beside me when he put his indicator on and accelerated, I just hit the horn, there was less than a car length between me and the person in front of me and we were only doing about 20kmh. He moved across so that the left side of his car was just in my lane, and then realised I wasn't going to let him in. He followed me for about 2kms, I saw that the next set of lights was red, I rolled slowly up to them, just as we both came to a stop about 10m behind the lines he got out of his car, I know the phases of the lights well and figured they would change soon, just as he got up to the car I yelled out of my window that was open a few cm that it was too early for him to be awake and he should go back to bed until his dole money is ready to be picked up. I then jumped forwards a few metres, as I was slowing down again (and with him running after me) the lights turned green, so I just took off, went around through a few side streets (I know the area well) and didn't see the guy again. I feel sorry for the lady with the BMW, just happy she isn't badly injured
  14. 9.5" with 235/45/17 tyres http://www.clubvr4.com/forum/uploaded/786/1179949622.jpg http://www.clubvr4.com/forum/uploaded/786/1179949486.jpg http://www.clubvr4.com/forum/uploaded/786/1179949366.jpg
  15. I'm about 200bhp/tonne, assuming 380hp and 1900kg 68bhp per litre
  16. lol, I know that guy. He was a customer of mine at an old job. He's not a pimp, he's a lost surfer hippie dude that hasn't realised the 70's have ended yet
  17. I'm surprised he's left the 728 badges on it, I'd expect it to be debadged or even rebadged as a 750 or something
  18. Yuen - from a distance the 8 series looks very modern and futuristic, but up close you notice things like the old style side indicators, the door handles and locks and it does look a little old. I think that considering most people won't know what the hell it is anyway I don't have to worry much about that, I bet you could ask 10 different people and get 10 different answers on it's age Nick - the black car is actually an 840Ci, but it is one of the last ones sold in the UK and as such has the full 850CSi body kit.
  19. Alex from Switzerland with his 850CSi sent me this picture, and I've fallen in love! I was going to go with M-Par's but they are hard to find here in NZ and I can buy the M6 wheels from Otahuhu Tyrepower at any time.
  20. either 235/40 or 245/40 would be fine
  21. you're f**king shitting me! nice car
  22. It is an interesting concept, pity about the ghey naming scheme, whats wrong with just X6 3.0 and X6 4.4 like the X5 names?

    The 850CSi is home

It will probably make it's first club meeting in about 2-3 months. The first thing is getting the bumper repaired so it can be legal, then I've got to sort out what I'm going to do with the wheels and tyres. As for the Sultans car, I'd love it, but it was for sale about 2 years ago for well over 40000 pounds, I can't remember the exact amount now! I can't afford that! I'd prefer to spend $10k on the 850CSi to get it in perfect condition.
  24. I had 235/45/17 wheels on my VR-4 on 17x8" rims which makes them basically sit straight up. I then moved the same tyres onto 17x9.5" rims and immediately the car felt a lot stiffer, obviously the sidewalls have no ability to stretch or move at all. A friend of mine had a spare set of 225/50/16 tyres that really should have gone onto a 16x6.5 or 16x7" rim, but he tried putting them on a 16x6" set, the result wasn't pretty, the car literally rolled around on the tyres, and when it was at rest you could push the car from side to side about 50mm, it just sort of flopped about! I'm of the opinion that slight stretching say 235/45 on a 8.5-9" wide wheel is fine, it keeps the sidewalls taught and the car doesn't roll about, but my tyres on 9.5" wheels are probably stretched a bit, 255/40 would be a better option really.
