    WOF's & tyres

Hmm, 205's on the front with 15x8's on the front 225's on the rear So I am good on the ass end, Interesting though
  2. Emailing and getting no response for a few days, not completely unreasonable if they can't find the parts Calling, being told yip, will email that through by the end of the day and not doing it That reflects worse than saying, we are extremely busy, we will attempt to find the parts but may not be able to get back to you before next week. Working with customers for many years you learn that telling the customer the truth vs telling them what they want to hear is always the better option in the long run.
  3. Hey guys, Been looking around various areas, want to get various components sorted on the 2 door 1987 318i prior to engine swap at the end of the year Been looking around a bit, would prefer to support the guys on here first though. Wanting to replace rear shock top mounts, Should I be looking at these? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=311293870 Or these? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=311593296 Rear Subframe bushes - urethane http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=311593289 Front bushes have already been replaced with urethane bushes Will be dropping the rear subframe out of the car, what should I be looking at doing while this is out, other than maybe a clean up and quick respray The front and rear sway bars from the 1987 325i that I will be swapping everything from into this are coming over, should I just be replacing the bushes and connectors on these? or just replacing them? Thanks in advance
  4. Epic multiple post Yeah, that is one of those cases where *555 is needed,
  5. Loving that colour, wonder if I should improve my panel beating and painting skills and repaint the 4 door
  6. Wow, I can't understand how you wouldn't be able to tell something was very very wrong. Most of us can feel when something isn't right with our cars, be it the need for a wheel alignment balance or slight lack of power at various revs. I can only imagine what that mess would feel like

    Decent X5 Pics

    Good work, love the lighting
  8. Clinton, is your Signature shot from up above Brockville on Dalziel Rd, Looks stunning
  9. Budget? you look for new or s/h I picked up a set of DTM Banzai's from Mag n Turbo with tires for $1600 on short term finance I thought they worked for the older Chrome style bmw's
  10. as correct as you are regarding arches etc, the "don't look as good as the f/l cars" is a matter of opinion
  11. the dying below 1500 RPM is odd, and could be unrelated, check for any rips / tears in the air intake piping Does sound like the starter motor has gone, The obligatory, what year / engine do you have?
  12. Hmm, Need: Swap the started out in the M20 Want: To pull the whole underside of the coupe apart and replace / upgrade bushes etc Respray front Valance on coupe Adjust / refiberglass rear valance on coupe New Interior / current carpets pulled out and overhalled 325i engine taken out and overhalled in the sedan Manual gearbox in the sedan tightened up 325 engine swapped into the Coupe and the 318 swapped into the Sedan with all related items Engine bays in both cars cleaned out I fear this list is already far too short
  13. I keep finding little things in the E30 coupe that frustrate me, from previous owners. Previous head unit caused a small fire behind dash, that was fun which also blew a hole in the fuse Drivers side mirror: went to pull the car apart for repaint found that the plug had been removed and all the wiring for electric mirror system had been hard wired in.. to make matters worse they had used the same colour wire for everything. Aftermarket aerial had been installed at some stage due to stock electric one failing, this poorly done and leaked, this resulted in a rather large rust hole that needed to be replaced shortly after buying the car, and a bit of rust in the boot.
  14. Side windows (at least the front coupe windows) are different between the PFL and FL E30's The E30 M3 had a completely different rear window, but I believe the rest of the windows are fine. Easiest way as far as I can tell, to know the difference is look at the rear wheel arches. If they are approximately the same height as the front arches, then its PFL If the rear arches are dropped, then its FL I have 2 PFL 1987's
  15. Is this happening for all folders? did you just use my documents as an example? Also is the back button visible or is it just greyed out and not able to be clicked on when you move forwards in a folder Backspace does the same thing as clicking "back" does this work? My suggestion would be to reset you folder settings, go under say local drive c then tools / folder options Click, Restore Defaults, resets the view / browsing settings for Explorer windows
  16. Damnit, just replaced 2m of hose on my car, they did it for about $15 p/m in the end I will have lots of things to order from them, just have to pull half of one of the E30's apart to work out exactly what, might setup a bulk order in a month or so.
  17. Personally, used a 1200grip wet and dry to smooth out the matte finish (Soak the paper for a few hours in water) on my paint, then used a cutting compound to polish it up, sorry not sure of brand panel beater mate had it in a big bottle, then used Mothers Wax afterwards
  18. Fuel does come from that area when you overfill it, that happened to me, well I assume that is what happened as it hasn't happened again.
  19. Interesting, this should be good to watch.
  20. Well, this should be good
  21. When are you going to get that on your beast Almost regret selling it now... then again, went to a good home
  22. You will have issues, I ended up losing my full insurance and insurance pushed me back to only offering me third party, didn't worry too much as the car will be stuck in the garage for a while. Will look at swapping insurance companies at a later date when I feel the need for full insurance once again
  23. BMW's they are an addiction, I picked up a second E30 325i recently with the idea to use it as parts for the first E30. Instead, its now on the road with rego and warrant and being used as my daily driver

    Humorous BMW's

I say you jack up the E30 take the chromies you have and slide them under the guards, get some shots off, then put the baskets back on, should be good for a laugh.
  25. Any child I have been with (say 2-6 years old) who is capable of running out in front of cars at a supermarket instantly forgets what they have been told not to do in a car park and whos only thought is the candy isle inside the supermarket Children aren't generally "stupid" they just don't have the mental capacity to always think through all the outcomes of what they are doing, thats why drivers have to pay attention and make up for that lack of common sense
