  1. thanks Glenn, even at 260,000km?
  2. Thanks for the PMs, i have now sussed one.
  3. Ah yea? He failed to mention that when I was there a couple weeks back.
  4. Its not so much the Oil that i fault, rather the shity recommendation stations they have at Repco that recommend the wrong grade. Both the E30 and E39 had to be drained and re serviced due to the stations giving the wrong oil recommendations. My brother, who is a vendor relationship manager at Repco, is dealing with a few small claims from Repco customers buying Penrite. For example, they recommend 10w-60 for a 318i and 0w-50 for a 540i. where as Castrol recommends 10w-40 for the 318i and 20w-50 for the 540i. HOWEVER, In saying that, the E36 ran sweet with the correct Penrite oil that another member here recommended. I guess it comes down to knowledge of the type of oil and brand for each engine. I just dont want to have to fork out double again for oil. So hence the original question ?
  5. Wont be going near Penrite again, they quite often prescribe the wrong oils haha But Castrol Edge seems to be pretty good. Just wondering if it will be turbo worthy tho..
  6. I have a set of 16s off an E39 in mint condition if you're keen? 4 plus a spare
  7. Supp ya'll, so i been looking around the interweb for some info on what oil is best to use for an E46 330ci, with 260,000km? The engine will soon be rebuilt with stock internals and a HD head gasket, possibly 1000cc injectors and a turbo. Ive been using Mobil 1 and Castro Edge in the 540 for a while with no issues.
  8. After a cheapish 330ci for a family project we are wanting to do. Not to fussed on condition but must have WoF and Rego.
  9. haha id have to agree, i had the rust bucket there year before last and the locals hated it with a passion, like I'm married to a local and it was still hated. Got more likes and attention from the other 50,000 non locals, so that was plus. On the M60 side, I'm busy with an E32 swap. I've found that its almost a direct bolt in, minus the braking system and drive shafts etc - ill be updating my project log soon.
  10. So after shopping and looking for a set of rear coil overs that would fit, I was about to pull the trigger on getting the lads at PitStop Penrose to get a custom set made up. The cost would have been an additional $750, however, as luck would have it, my brother purchases a new set of BC coilovers last year, off Facebook, believing it was for a Honda Accord, but were for something else and did not fit. I decided to have a look at the rears of his set and BOOM, they were a perfect fit for the ute. Almost like they were made for the E39 Touring. So we mounted his shock to my housings and it fits like glove. Our own DIY Custom Standard VS 'Custom'
  11. Someone should buy this and chuck in a S54 manual set up - that would be cool - If i had the space and not so many projects i would be all over this. GLWS
  12. Anyone have E39 M5 front door cards, centre console and dash for sale?
  13. Do you have a pic and dimensions? I can compare to there for you
  14. Haha they are for the ute. Apparently getting a kit for an E39 Touring is near impossible. Sedan rears are approx 40 to 60mm longer. And no one would slel me just the fronts, so had to buy a whole set
  15. E39 BC Gold Adjustable REARS ONLY. Brand new unused with 12 months warranty from Redline performance, proof of purchase and copy of receipt provided. $450 ono
  16. I've been looking myself. Hard to come by
  17. Fits both sedand and touring $100 ono
  18. And in other news, finally got around to purchasing the suspension
  19. Edging slowly towards the finish line. Been busy repairing the rear jack points (using parts from the donor car) - bloody rust not so good. Should have both sides completed within the week, and then it's time to start preparing for the engine swap from the 540 donor
  20. It will possibly be for the M62, but i have access to the M52 to M62 adapter. Do you have the pedal box with bits too?
  21. Any around that don't cost and arm, leg and kids future?
  22. Original Cert fella was Lance Welsh, then yea, Clint came and had a look and dismisses pretty much everything Lance had done...
