  1. Sorry to hear that dude. Fukn assholes. Lets hope MattA was right. I'm always worried about that happening to me, I better hurry up and get an alarm.
  2. Are they the 10 spoke ones? If they are I test fitted some to my car, look real good and they fit pretty good as wel.l

    1988 E30 M3

Isn't it all E30's that can't be imported though, not just M3?
  4. god dam boy, you seem to be a walking e30 encyclopedia. any other interesting stuff you got in your head?
  5. That white cabrio thats in 2 of the pictures has been written off, belongs to some guy on a US forum. Pity, it was pretty dam cool, 3 litre M20 in it (i think, maybe it was 2.7), also had the 5 stud conversion done to it.
  6. But they only had the 318i in until 85' And they also got a convertable 325i and 318i
  7. So do you like the look of the pre FL better or someother reason like cost? Just a random question - Was 86' the first year they made a 325i then?
  8. Welcome to the site! Sounds like you got a great car, bimmer boy was right about the envy i think. In terms of 318i engines it depends on the year. pre facelift ones have a M10B18 with an amazing 77 kw. (My car) This is a single overhead cam with 8 valves and also uses L-Jetronic. FL ones (or post 88) have a M40 which has about 88kw I think and more torque. This is a 16 valve DOHC engine and uses Motronic.

    Rattling

No its not FL, thanks for all the suggestions. I think its to do with the lock mechanism. It seems like the link arm that goes from the motor to the lock but I don't see how it can make that much noise. Its not the plate, it was originally but i managed to stop that. I pretty sure it something to do with inside the car, nothing like a spoiler or badge. I just have to go over all your ideas and see what works.

Checked that, all good, come on guys someones got to know a fix.

    Rattling

Na I'm pretty sure its not, coming from the back of the car. I had the subs for a while no decent amp to drive them got hold of a new amp which is makes em go way better.
  12. So is your car facelift? You can tell if your timing is adjustable if you have a small box with two plugs going into on the side of your engine bay, should have telefunken written on it. Also your dizzy should be driven off the block as opposed to the head.
  13. I not sure on this but i'm sure I read somewhere that this doesn't work too well. Something about the shape of the pistons means that you get lower compression. Why not just do what andrew said and get the crank? Are you planning on using the 282 cam that you got?

    Rattling

Finally installed some subs in the boot and the boot rattles like crazy, easy fix or a mission? Seems like the lock but could be something else?
  15. I'll have to think about it then, I don't know exactly what I'm doing, I only know the basic idea. I'd have to get someone from BS down here to help, (Looking at carl or glenn here). So you think I could still advance it a bit using 96?
  16. Hi guys, just curious as to what sort of gas you put in your cars? Can they take 91 or should it be like 96 minimum? I always use 96 and I was thinking about playing round with ignition timing but if it should have 96 anyway then i wouldn't bother. How much differnce does advancing the timing make? Worth mucking round with or better left alone? Andrew, I noticed you had done this to your 320i, what did you think of it?

    Full E30 lock set

I seen those locks on trademe as well. Does anyone know if they will fit? And whats so good about the solex locks? How are they different to normal locks? I heard that bimmers got quite good locks anyway, this true or are they nothing special?

    Pics of my exhaust

Yeah what i thought, BUT... Isn't there also something about its got to be above the bottom of the rim in case of a blow out or something like that?

    BMW 323i Project

I don't think an M20 would get to 18000, well it might but you might as well throw it out afterwards or it would be in lots of different pieces all over the track. Still, we could always try. Now who wants to lend me an M20 so I can find out

    Pics of my exhaust

Now I'm confused. Does the exhaust have to be 100mm above the ground or not? I always thought it was only structural stuff that had to be 100mm and body kits, exhaust etc. were exempt.
  22. I never got them, was going to be too much hassle. The proper offset is ET35 (thats what it says on my spare anyway). Some 17's will fit if they are ET40, I have also test fitted some advanti mikano's (I think thats what they were) and they fitted fine, it will just come down to the shape of the wheel as to whether they clear the caliper or not. Also you should be able to run 215/40/17, I wouldnt go 215/45 cos the tires are too big. Also 17's look wicked but i would prefer to be driving on 16's. The ride is better, easier on suspension and its a bit easier to control when you slide. (I have been told this)
