Good stuff. Welcome to Bimmersport. Pictures of E12 and Eketahuna, im sure most of us are un familiar with either
-
Looking smooth.. it’s all about the detail. Like the way you have reframed from painting the window frames.
-
Good project. Leather wrap the dash, new seats, paint it a nice colour………..20k later you’d have a nice M3.
-
The new Mustang GT is a nice car, they have done a brilliant job on the 2010 interior. I would just take a Nissan 370z, better than both. 118k NZ for that Camaro is ludicrous, it’s just a VE commodore in disguise… Nice bloody disguise though.

That M5 is still on Trade-Me!
-
They are a handful in any spec, and not in a good way. On my top ten dream car’s list, marked muscle and smoke. Purely for looks and skids! Those prices don’t look to bad, they have dropped off in the last couple of years, wonder why.

Cyborg only applies to Mirages doesn’t it Heath? This is a MR model Mr.
-
Was in a Cyborg with one of those engines the other night, his was manual and had a LSD, f**k did it move, seemed too have endless revs. Good luck with the sale.

Im the first to tell myself a mod had done nothing but these actually do a lot.

P. Yes you can fight a 1,200KG object made of steel. I just run them down!

Defiantly, living in Papakura and travelling around South Auckland we had large counts of road rage when we had the E60 545i, most people wouldn’t let you in because they were jealous of the car, some people would actually go out their way to block you from passing or pulling out, no waves to pull in, would sometimes take an age to pull onto a busy street. Everyone hated the driver, middle class people, just average Joes, jealousy shines through, you’d get dirty looks just filling it with gas.. Showy cars can be quite embarrassing and annoying, Mum and Dad have always experienced the same with new BMW's over the years…Funny thing is, your more than likely to receive respect and good manners if driving a $90,000 Yank tank or Australian car than you are driving a $25,000 Euro.

Hmmm I have a back firing road rage story. I did the old slamage of the brakes get off my tail to the wrong P fuelled HQ driver a month or so back, I ended up sandwiched between him and his mate who was following him, he tried paying me back with the slamage of the brakes business but even a E30 can out stop a HQ, I eventually swerved to the off ramp and lost them, I lost a wing mirror when his mate passed me with half his car still in my lane when I exited the M-way… Pulled my head in.

I have a good one Mark but im not letting it go for nothing, they are rare as hens teeth.
-
No, it goes ok for what it is and sounds great. Just need to sort some new front shocks and its done.
-
Looking good, get handy with polish did we! Do want light, mine feels like I have been locked in a pantry.
-
Try this. Safer than doing 160kph. http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....c=24437&hl=

Will this beat a gun? I want to be able to waist a gun... as do the S.A.S.

No serge, very linier, just pours it on smooth and holds it, if it wasn’t for the turbo noise when pushing it you could mistake that its turbo, feels like a medium sized V6 in terms of delivery down low but keeps pulling. Most modern Turbo’s are similar, BMW’s new engines for example, the Astra Turbo we had a few years back had a much more dramatic feel, you could really feel the 320nm kick in at 2,700 and carry threw to 5,000rpm. Another reason for the lack of in your face drama of powerful FWD of old is the front hub geometry, I believe Renault patented it. With the Quaife LSD installed in a few weeks things should become a little more manic. Here is a Video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CWM-Mo5QvCc

None. Would suck if everyone could have basket weaves!! Im happy to lend mine for prototyping If I can borrow a set of Alpina’s Jono
-
It’s there, somewhere.. Can’t say I have noticed. It’s a fun car. Its a lot different than a Honda Integra, I know the kick you are speaking off, my old Integra was brutal on cam.

It’s 100% stock bar a panel filter and hasn’t been fettled with since delivery new, the first owner is a friend of ours and hasn’t had it chipped, I asked him if he thought about it and he said its not something he would do, he is very conservative and not into modifying things outside the factory specs. The only way it could have been fettled is if Renault NZ had it mapped before delivery but even that seems strange as most remaps that can be done in NZ take the car straight to 250BHP minimal, and stage 2 they can be remapped to 275BHP with a de-cat downpipe. Im trying to find out dyno info on the 225-F1Team, lots of people have run the stock 225 and R26 on the dyno and both come in a lot lower than what mine put out. So im happy with this free power, suspected it was a bit more powerful than a 225 as at track day it was gaining on some much “faster†cars. As a reference, a stock 191kw Mazda 3 MPS was 10kw at the wheels up on me and a 177kw Opel Astra VRX was 3KWATW down, so 180kw figure is working for me.
