Basically, if you get your car serviced through a bmw centre it's worth it, plus you get discounts at other car places aswell. The membership will pay for itself this year, service and cam belt to do...that'll pay for the membership easy as. Can't say I find the dizzy that riveting a read though but there's some good info in it plus the adverts.

Could one be safe in assuming then that for a ride to feel luxurious you're going to have to sacrafice some sort of handling response?Anyone here driven a merc? I have and I can honestly say they're set up to drive straight roads!!!

Well, I can tell you about the differences in handling between my E30 and numberous other makes... At any rate, I find my car an abolute pleasure to drive, I kinda like the "raw" drive as you others say. Personally I want to a feel an integral part of the handling, I don't want to feel like i'm driving with trainer wheels on in that some intelligence in the car will prevent me from pushing my car to it's limits, where's the fun in not being able to oversteer???

I wouldn't really want to touch that with a 24' pole The cars have gotten heavier although are supposedly safer I've driven an E36 320, can't say I found it too much different from my E30 although I wreckon the cabin view from my car was a hell of alot more open. As for the drive they felt the same although this was before I replaced all my suspension...

Yeah, the safe numbers are a pain, I had to restart the game after getting the safe combo then it worked, weird. I got the green room sorted, that was an effective waste of an hours work, seems you have to click everything 3 times to make things work

Dude, wont be a head gasket, they're fairly obvious and cracks generally show leakage signs unless they need to be under pressure...so if there's no obvious puddles then cane the beast until it's super warm and friendly then pop the bonnet and look for steam, you may want to check down by your auto tranny since that's water cooled aswell... Edited: Note, turn your engine off and listen for any hissing, that's a sure sign of escaping H20

Hmmmm, good thread, any ideas on this prob: I have a couple of stone chips in my bonnet that i've neglected and they're starting to rust Should I just paint some touch up over them or is there something to put on first to stop the rusting???

Women drivers are notorious for bad upkeep of vehicles...make sure you warm the engine up then rev it past 5000rpm for a good 15secs to blow it out...assuming you have an automatic. EDITED: I wreckon the best ppl to buy cars off are old guys, they're the ppl that look after cars properly

Has anyone tested how far they can get once the fuel light turns on...thinking about Top Gear and the fuel light game..."and if you win, your partner will have to fill the car up for you in the morning"

Yes, does the E30 have a fuel light that indicates when the petrol is running low. I've yet to get low enough to test it so wondering if it actually has one

Holy hell, just been reading teh stats on nvidia's 6800 Ultra chip, can run doom3 at 1600x1280 @ 42fps, shizzle. BTW: I can get Leadtek nvidia 6800 ultra cards for $1250 each....and that's with dealer discount

Could be your fuel lines clogged up with the sh*t festering at the bottom of the tank...although i'm sure the fuel filter is supposed to prevent that from happening it's not good to run out of fuel...two cars ago I ran outta fuel, carburettor got farked up from the festering sh*t, although i'm not sure what happens with injectors..
