  1. Both need to be hubcentric.

Ok so the adapters get attached to the hub firstly. Is there any issue with this part being hub-centric or is it just the wheel that has to be hub-centric to the adapter? As the new wheels have a larger bore, i'm assuming i'll need hub-centric rings on them.

I will ring a certifier and see what they say.

    Cheers

  2. I have done some work with cert's and the process.

The last I did with adapters, they need to be attached to the car, and be hubcentric.

The cert for road use is required.

Best advice is to select who is going to do the cert' and talk to them before you do anything else. They need to sign it off, and its their name and lisence on the line if its wrong.

  3. This mornings paper claims the price paid for new ones at about 90 to 100 k.

IF thats correct, then selling them will near cover the cost of replacements.

The new ones probably are exempt of import tax, and god knows what other taxes the government can bypass.

I would rather pay for them to use BMW's deisel's than Ford or Holden petrol cars.

The use of 34 of them covers most the country, as they will be stationed at set pionts in the country.

  4. As is see or understand you, its not ethical that they do not,

A, Inform you that the high bidder has been removed by them.

B, That you are now the high bidder, assuming that it had passed its reserve.

C, Give an explanation why you are now legally bound to the auction.

    From TM's Terms and Conditions:

As a result, even though some of the services are being referred to as an auction, Trade Me is not an auctioneer (whether under the Auctioneers Act 1928 or otherwise).

They have some things to address here, on one hand they refer to all sales as auctions, but in the term's and conditions remove them selves from the act.

  5. Not on all leather seats, maybe on all electric learther seats!

Mine does not have the heated seat option!

so after a bit more reading and reviewing cars for sale, im going to assume heating comes standard with all leather seats! More wires!

Wil do a write up in case anyone is interested. :)

  6. Do you mean the black blt that fits in the door jamb?

Send me a pic of the bit you want.

Im looking for the drivers inside foot trim? hard to explain, but youll probably know what i mean, the one that clips over the carpet in the inside, rather than the scuff panel on the sill?

  7. It is a medium case diff, and my guess at the moment is its 3.64 or 3.73, there abouts.

Will do, need to sort it soon so i can move in the drive again!

If it's a medium case diff can you PM me details when you have worked out the ratio please.

  9. All this may be so, but as I am nearer 50 now than 40, and have 2 at the moment I dont believe that age is a good reason to own or not own!

I should add that a mate here in Wellington at 75 next birthday has a cabbie and uses it as his daily driver and is not soft on it!

    Just do it!

Im having withdrawals from E30 ownership and im trying to talk myself out of buying another

    Cooling Problems

    Noisy engines

    Everything needs replacing…again.

    Slow steering

    Too small

    Too slow

    Thirsty

Too immature for a bloke near 30

Too much fun for a bloke near 30

All the good parts are too expensive and rare.

All the good Cars are too expensive and rare.

Help me with more reasons why E30’s are no good

  10. The convertable seat is narrower than the standard sedan or coupe, the base may be ok but not the backrest, so no they wont fit. I have 2 sets of front and 1 rear m3 seats in my cars, the cabbie has m3 front in and the padded back rest of the cabbie is the same style as the m3 but about 100mm a side smaller. the m3 fronts are differant to Recaro, in both the stitching and the padding the m3's have firmer padding and you sit lower in them than the standard recaro seats.

    Hope this makes sence?!? ;)

  11. Removing the glass is not that hard to do, remove the filler piece in the rubber, then using a flat blade screw driver and can of CRC silicone , spray under the rubber on the glass ( lifting the rubber edge ) all round the glass, then carefully and slowly push the glass out from the top edge and lift when its about half way down the pillar.

Its not hard and putting it back is the reverse, lots of CRC silicone and ease the rubber back over the edge of the glass then put the filler back sprayed well, front and back much the same.

  12. There used to be 2 in Wellington, owned by the same person.

One was orange and used in Targa a few times, the other , last time i saw it, was being built as a targa car as it was not so good in condition and the Orange one was going to be put back as a road car.

These two are CSL's as they are alloy paneled.

    I assume this is correct?
