Still got heaps of sh*t, so bump

My e30 did this the first time I gave it a full tank of gas (been sitting in a container ~6 years before I bought it), turns out that the return line from the overflow for the filler pipe was completely disintegrated, 3 dollar 10 minute fix from pickapart. Halfway through writing that I realised that you said it suddenly happened, so yeah, Id guess a pressure line, see if gas comes out with the engine running would confirm that I suppose? Should be an easy enough diy fix I think

Cheers man, helped heaps, didnt know you could do that. I ended up having to switch the entire mechanism as well, but the wing mirrors just slowly ground to a halt and wont work now for some reason...no clue why, neither of them work now though haha...
-
Wondering if this is possible, i have a wing mirror where whatever the motor attaches to to adjust is broken so the lens just flops around, and i have a spare where the lens is smashed but the adjustment works. Any way to swap the lens? iv tried careful and not so careful application of a strong heat gun, to no avail... Thanks

from memory i think its bout 30 bucks a metre, and its 137cm wide i think, would definately work out cheaper if you got it wholesal through dunlop. like less than half that

yeah was just keen on the two speed, dont really like having the noise going constantly, but well see, cheers for the help guys.

I heard that duct tape on the non friction surfaces does the trick, as mine developed a squeal over time, so I tried it pretty skeptically and it did work, doesnt seem to affect anything other than no squeal. not sure if its a safety/WoF issue, but yeah...

Hmmm it has three sensors that appear to be water temp, theres the one with only one pin that afaik is for the dash gauge, and theres 2 twin pin sensors, guessing im screwed as to which is high temp without a thermometer to check them at temperatures? or just guess and see which one turns the fan on at 91deg? Sorry for all the questions

I messaged you about a week ago about the swaybars, didnt get anything back from you? Still got em? ill take the front if you do
-
Fair enough, does anyone know if theres a High and Low temp sensor on the m10b18's, just so i can utilise the two speeds of the fan?
-
Ok, Ive sorted myself out a fan now, its a two speed one, with two wires obviously for each speed. Now, from what I understand of the fuse box, the fuse terminals are prewired, and they all go to their corresponding relay sockets and these are also prewired, so if i run the wires back to the outer fuse blade sockets, and jam some fuses and relays where the low and high speed relays/fuses should be, all will be well and work? or am I wrong completely? Cheers, Bradd

Sweet as, cheers.

what kinda price am I looking at for it do you know? Any good reason to go urethane? seen some online.

Hey, Ive got some play in the steering coupling, the one thats up by the exhaust manifold. Are these fairly easy to replace? they look it, but they also look like they have potential to be a REAL bitch... Can you just get new rubber, or have to get the whole damn thing? Cheers
-
wow, i thought my 195s on 15x7s looked bout right, but apparently theyre on the minimum haha...might look at getting 215s or even 225s next...
-
As you can see, they seem to be relatively intact but would need a repaint, looks like they have been painted at some point...
-
Sweet, will just have to find some fins to screw it to then...my radiators seen better days haha.

Pretty interested in doing this to get rid of my buggered fan clutch, car overheats in auckland traffic, but never in palmy traffic, so not too much of a worry for me, but would be nice when i am in auckland for it to not overheat. On m10, is it just using the temp sensor thats jammed in the water piping at the front of the block? and what sorta fan is it? just an el cheapo supercheap one/pickapart fan or what? Easy to mount to back/front of rad? Cheers

Theres a 5 series and a 7 series always at the RSA round the corner from work, that shamelessly have printed plastic as their licence plates, with an italicised font in bold and everything. Im assuming they get away with it cos theyre war vets? So far ive been pulled over once with my nz euro replicas and been driving near a few cops and nothing so far luckily. Spotted many many fake nz euros, no holograms... Im tempted to keep my originals in the boot, but seeing as theyre personalised i dont want an extra set floating round doing petrol drive offs etc..
-
good luck, seeing that makes me realise even more how much my car needs a kit >_< damn being at uni...
-
The passengers side is a little crusty, but theyre ok other than that as far as i can remember, will grab a pic for you tomorrow arvo?
-
cheers antil33t, no worries man, Gouba, sorry but no oil cooler left
-
Yeah the skin is normal eva on one side, and closed cell on the other, so should do ok, but the aluminium coated stuff is basically heat shield foam, and id be suprised if that was sh*t. Not many para stores around, i work in the palmy one haha.

Im interested to hear about doing the engine and gearbox mounts at some point...
