Hey man, i was trying to find some crap on it for you, all I could find out was that apparently the earlier motronic ICV's only had two pins, whereas it was the later ones that had 3. Another later model thing that my car has haha...
-
So where can i get it done? mine need a clean i think
-
Its still awesome haha and I think they have better prices on fuel than we do at the moment...lol

Sorry to bring up a semi old thread, but looking at carfax today... Turns out about 9-10 years ago some bugger wound my odo back about 90000 MILES!!! its currently at 142000 MILES... So yeah, definately over 300000km... Would explain why its smoky and runs like arse
-
Alright, thanks guys, I sorta have an idea what to check now

I had a look at some spark plug reading charts, but I couldnt find anything that resembles what mine looked like 3 weeks ago, put new ones in anyway, will have a look tomorrow at the condition that theyre in... Anyway, to me, something looks severely wrong, and it could be the cause of my 6km per litre fuel consumption. The oil there is just from a rocker cover leak I think, its just pooled in the hole for the spark plug and doesnt actually get into the cylinder as far as I know...Im pretty sure my smoky engine is buggered rings.... But anyway, could someone help me out and give me an idea of what this means? Thanks.

I was just wondering if theres a towbar for a prefacelift e30 around that I could borrow for 1-2 days for a box of beer or something? Need to help a mate move, no one has a towbar haha

Its pretty mental cheap aye, I dont know if the US spec models had different dizzys or not, i suppose theres not a high chance... But its damn cheap, and I hope its legit aye

Hey man, ive been thinking of this for a while, and this site http://www.rmeuropean.com/ seems to say that they can get both a new rotor and cap landed here for less than 120NZ... Pretty F****in good deal considering ive had quotes of up to 450 for the cap alone

theyre such awesome cars, definately my favourite bmw anyway

Haha, ACC all good man, so hard to type at this time and after so much drink haha...
-
Haha, theres been a few cops on the show the last couple weeks that dont look old enough to be driving, let alone ticketing people
-
Damn, i remember seeing it and thinking, "I must post this" but then forgot pretty much straight away haha
-
Yeah apparently some models also had a diagnostics TDC sensor mounted on the crank at the front, and its only purpose was for bmw diagnostics, the wire from it goes straight to the loom connecting to the diagnostics plug, so I dont know if it goes back with it or not, or only goes to the plug... EDIT: Sweet 100th post!

One of my mates got snapped this morning, after seeing the campbell live segment... Hes well known for doing all sorts of retarded things though, so its not a huge suprise
-
haha, theres no counter for quality unfortunately...

Trying to figure out what engine I have today, theres some sort of sensor mounted on the crank wheel at the fron of the engine, and I cant seem to find the timing sensor on the flywheel housing... Also the exhaust manifold is facelift 4 bolt one, and the idle control valve is the newer electronic one The ECU number is 078, using a list from pelican parts of the actual motronic unit inside the unit, suggests that I have motronic ML31, and I have no clue what that means, so any help would be great... Thanks Ok, EDIT: Just had a more extensive look, ML31 was what was in e30 m3 ecus, motronic 1.0 motorsport, and that aint right seeing as its a completely different engine... Theres a good chance im completely retarded about this So sorry if my stupid questions are annoying everyone... Edit 2: Ok Im just blind, according to Haynes all motronics have the timing sensors on the bellhousings, for some reason I thought 1.3 were different to 1.1 so i must have heard wrong
-
Yeah mines probably screwed, but we decided it probably was anyway aye lol
-
Happy birthday man, have a good one
-
Does anyone have a pic of what a good condition diff bushing in an e30 should look like, I know what mine looks like, but dont know what a good one looks like, Ive got a clunk in the back, Im hoping its something easy like that haha... Thanks

oh true, i was just assuming that its basically a conductive grid, and hooking up an aerial cable would give the same results as running a few metres of wire around the car
-
I have 2 aerials, ones got a huge roll of cable thats just sitting underneath it not connected to anything, looks like cb antenna from a taxi, my car was possible a taxi at one point in its life im guessing.... I was wanting to just remove them, bog the holes up and not have an aerial... What would happen If i connected the aerial to the heater grid on the back window? Im guessing turning the grid on it would blow my headunit?
-
If Im right, Its because welding you attach a negative cable to the metal to be welded, and then when the welding rod or what not contacts the metal, its connected to postive from the mains as well, and theres so much current thats what melts the rod (shorting out) and fuses the metal...Im possibly wrong though, but Im sure nearly everyone else will know whats right..

damn, looks pretty sexy though, makes me wish i had have bought an e36
