Is in pretty good nick, no cracks or anything from memory. I bought it off boydusM325i, so look for pics of his car. I just want what I paid for.

I have a fibreglass mtechII front for an E30, it includes: -the top cap that goes over the bumper -the bumper that it is molded to -the bottom valence I can't use this as my car is now too low with the new suspension and this will be destroyed if I installed it. It is finished in Lachsilber Metallic. I want $300, not negotiable. Will not separate the bits.

+1 With the Golf GTI that you sold at least there's a following/hot hatch history behind the model. Makes it special. I'm not sure an auto 318i is special (no offense meant...). That said, NZ new Corolla GT's go for 3x as much as a standard corolla? Then again despite being a corolla, it is a GT with the venerable 4age and some may consider it special. So I guess what I'm trying to get at, along with the majority of posters in this thread, is that unless someone thinks it's a special car then I don't think it's worth more than $4,000 max. I know if I had $6,000 to spend on a 318 it'd be one of the manual 318is's on trademe, not an auto 318i. Sorry.

I would've thought E30 or E36 as they'd have more saleable parts? And probably easier to steal? To be honest, I'm surprised the 325's right up there, it's not exactly desirable? For E36 and E46 shapes there are 328/330s? And E30's don't exactly get second looks compared to the Silvias and Skylines that have drift fan boys clamouring after them? And why is the Honda Prelude on the list? H22a/H2B conversions must be in high demand

I hope cars don't end up with horrible chelsea grins a la Mugen DC5:

Not for sale at this stage. But will be $2,500 as they are brand new. Just a word of warning as they are very very low if you want the springs to be captive.

Sorry the only pictures I have are old ones. It's fairly plain looking. Looks like this at the moment except on bottlecaps. Would look a lot better with the mtech bits/wheels/coilovers but haven't put them in yet . (sorry it's not a very flattering photo either).

Black/Polish bottlecaps look really good imho. I was going to do that to my bottlecaps, but I'm too much of a ricer and went for some 16"s. Do it! Red panda > white panda. Just make sure red = red not faded pink Keep bonnet red though...black bonnets are over done, and if not CF look a bit tacky imho Where'd you get your gearknob? Looks like a NISMO/TRD one. Great to use

I don't think an E36 give more turns lock to lock...just makes it quicker right? Or do rack spacers make steering quicker too?

MY CTRL+Click and SHIFT+Click weren't working which was very very annoying. Now they do and I'm a happy chappy. Bookmark toolbar was the first thing I imported haha. Chrome's faster than Safari on XP, especially startup. RE: Firefox's little search bar The little search bar and address bar have been merged, is apparently more efficient. Seems to work fine for me Know when to google and when to guess the address

It's quick, but missing the shortcuts and stability of Firefox. It doesn't seem very stable on Media Edition XP.

In the handbook, ours is something like 1500kg with all the options (favourite bit is the controls on the steering wheel, definitely recommend looking for a car with a multifunction wheel). Also the boot space in the sedan is ridiculous! It's just over half the size of the E30! But on the plus side, if you're patient you can find a lot of car for your money! But the compact prices look to be $3000 more on average than a E46 sedan! 328/330 E46 prices are dropping like stones There is a heaps of tech in an E46 compared to the relatively agricultural E30. Just get one on the hoist and there's aero, there's aluminium arms, awesome brakes, and a sophisticated back end. I was lusting after all the bits for my E30 haha. But I guess they're harder to work on? I can't quite figure out what's going on for the rear suspension myself haha. Like a complicated multi-link. Doesn't step out like the E30, very stable doesn't get upset by mid-corner bumps as easily. Good road car. If you like snow, I'd get one with the fold-down seats otherwise you'd struggle to fit anything. I have a 142 park board and that can't even fit anywhere in the car without folding the passenger seat down!. Other option is a roof/towbar rack, but it might affect your gas mileage on trips.

We have a 328i E46 sedan with Motorsport bits and Re001 rubber....it still feels like a bit of a whale compared to the E30. Uses more gas than the E30 around town too. But yes, on the open road it's great! Don't like the steptronic, bewilders me somewhat. Wonder if the 330i has better top end? 328i is great - really nice and torquey with useable power, but really feels strangled at the top. Opposite to the 325i E30 where you have belt it to go anywhere. Good road trip car, but that's about it imho. Don't really like how it lumbers around under 60-70kph.

I'd rather not spend money on stuff that won't help all that much, as I need the money elsewhere in the car. Also, the items on the Turner site don't really have anything to reinforce the strut tops apart from overpriced (imho) front strut bars. And as CamB has explained I most the stuff isn't too applicable to my car, and neither have I seen much of that stuff on NZ E30's. I plan to have a cage by the end of the year, but this won't extend to the rear struts/diff - which is all tied together with big bits of subframe. But the caged E30 race cars I've seen still run strut braces front and rear regardless of whether the cage extends to the front or not. So is strut integrity a problem? I'm thinking strut braces for both ends will stop things flexing/breaking somewhat? Perhaps I have been hanging around Japanese cars for too long, but strut braces for E30's seem prohibitively expensive...

Back on topic-ish: The E30 M3's seem to be a fair bit heavier than a 325? Where is the weight? With aluminium panels, alloy suspension bits, and a 4 instead of a 6 they are still 1200kg with no options for the Evo's. And as I understand it the non-Evo's were even heavier because they had steel panels? Is all the weight in the body work? Unless, I have my 325 numbers wrong - I thought they were 1200kg with all the options. Also, would love to see what BMW did for aero underneath the EvoIII.

Nice, Sarah was telling me about the "very pretty gearknob". lol! Um, they're BBS RS's (I'm guessing you're referring to the wheels in his sig). 3 piece. Pretty badass. I can let you have a look at mine when you come round. They're very cool wheels, everything can be taken apart Also, local shops should press the bushes for free if you know them. Rob at Bavarian did mine (I was spending too much money there though).

I have a MtechII front I'm about to fit to pre-facelift. Just have to cut the tow hooks and everything will bolt on. As for rear, just trim the bumper near the arch a bit and done. Not as hard as it sounds. A guy on the Shore has facelifted an E30. Apart from the rear, everything bolts on. He sent me heaps of pics. I'll try find them.
-
Ernst has done mine. And is doing another for me. One of them may be up for sale soon. edit: these have pre-facelift flywheel sensor holes, so perhaps not suitable for you.
-
I'm guessing carpet, etc were stripped as well? Was there air-con, power-steering, spare tyre, etc? I'd be very happy if my racecar was down to that figure!
-
Mine's got a combination of electrical and race tape holding it together ....for the time being (I think)
