can modify a one from a e36 e46 etc they are much newer

i had a while back a 530i with a 4.4L fitted , jb racing ali flywheel (suited the 5spd box) and std clutch to suit clutch was not upto it at all . and gearbox chatter was there , if that bothers you. the clutch that suits as you say is only really a 2.8L to 3L sort of clutch i could have had it ramped up toi suit , but was to late once it was in there . was ok i just didn't push it much off the line etc

no e46 bits will be needed , except the gearbox and flywheel from a e36 will be ok. i have a e46 kit if needed

vac leaks also check the coolant temp sensor for the ecu plugs , wiring and sensor itself

pretty std for most e34 ones , you can sort those issues pretty easy

vac leaks on intake pipes , sticky icv , faulty maf , bad PCV etc . leaking intake manifold gaskets etc
