yea theres like about 5 of us all with e28's great minds think-a-like 1 mate has 2 black m535i one auto one 5spd 1 mate has a red m535i 1 mate has a red m535i and 528i 5spd 1 mate has a blue 528i with a worked 3.5L hot cams and side draft webbers etc and my silver one

yes can fit the old engine back in , also have another M88 engine thats in bits ready for rebuilding to your spec etc .i think my mates e34 wagon has sold now . but yes your right the e28's are a better more fun car to drive , unless its a e34 with 4.4L v8 and manual or v12 manual i know this car , have sold a few bits to him over the years , was a bit rugged when i saw it last .guys travels to glenbrook steel mill every week from tauranga in it . engine was pretty toast when i saw it last but sounds like its had a rebuild etc

the e38 ones are 16" by 8" with et23 e39 are 16" by 7" with ET20 i use the e38 ones on my e28 with the semi slick tyres , nice light alloy 8.5kg

i might at the right price with the brand new modified m5 engine or std 535i engine. but i do have a mate with one that he might sell 86 m535i red dog leg close ratio box cloth recaro's , 16" bbs etc etc maybe about $6-7k???

yes your gear knob is stuffed , that part may have been glued on .

no . 525e and 520i use m20 engine , m50 type engines are the same length525i 528i 535i use m30 engine which are longer. anyway its been done before , just have to muck around with mounts and gearbox choices etc and sump the sump and oil pump for a e34 525i m50 type just the same as if you where tro fit it into a e30 etc

probably the cheapest and simplist way is to put a complete 2l head and intake manifold on from a e30 320i or e28 or e34 520i and then use a e30 325i ecu and afm from a prefacelift 325i.

sounds like maybe the inside part of your gear knob has been left behind on the gear lever. should look like this when off

are you sure its not just worn camshaft lob on number 1 cylinder etc ?? worth checking just pull the rocker cover off

i have a nice light weight 3L crank, rods and pistons that would liven up that car , and a head to match , will cost a bit more than a few beers though

looks like i have a simlier leak on my 328i i have orded a new gasget that goes between the oil filter housing and the engine block also got a new rocker cover gasget .

used to sell heaps of , ign modules , dizzy's , ign switches , ecu's afm and crank and cam sensors for these models.

sell it and buy a 325i 328i etc, will be cheaper to do in the end and worth more than a converted car,

talk to marty(back yard bandit) if you want to do a turbo set up , he has done a few and may have some parts /options for you .

the exta "e" was for extras , like electric windows , ac , premium audio setup , electric sunroof etc etc i used to have one many years back that i sold to a mate who still has it .
