  1. My 2005 RR was sold as a 2.9 http://www.carjam.co.nz/car/?plate=Cus437 yes it says 3.0 but they aren't.
  2. Yup but two different engines. The early X5, 530d, 330d, Range Rovers e.t.c were 2926cc
  3. How can they market that as a 2010 BMW M3 ? It's trash IMO.
  4. Not many of these about and in manual.. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-718050529.htm
  5. It's a 2.9 Why are they all advertising them as 3.0? There's a pre f/l 330d with the 2.9 motor advertised as a 3.0 The 3.0 is a miles better engine.
  6. What map was put on this from memory it was an economy map? What's the kW and torque figures post remap?
  7. Not that I've noticed. Had an airlock when we changed the hose pipe. Idled for 10 mins and revved it and would have noticed it. Yeah it's on borrowed time here. Once the gasket has been done and everything is above board it's gone burgers.
  8. Being Turbo, it shouldn't be that difficult to get a non-intrusive remap?
  9. Good luck in spotting one. They're are rare as rocking horse sh*t. I've never seen one in the flesh, only on TradeMe and that was with the yucky 2.9 litre motor.
  10. Yup, this one is going back on TradeMe as soon as everything is sorted on it Have no confidence in it.

    Heatpumps..

Already have a heat tranny system. Can't see myself changing it.This shifts the heat quite well. In the dead of winter the fire keeps the whole house at at least 20 degrees, and at least 25 in the lounge and we are above the snowline in dunedin.

    Heatpumps..

The heatpump we're to get will only be used in the mornings and to take the chill off the air at night when we're in bed. In the dead of winter we rely on our multi-fuel Yunca fire which runs mostly on coal which punches out 22-26kw. I've just had Daiken up and have suggested a 8kw unit for around 3k There's also an 11kw unit which he rekons would be overkill (but I like overkill) for around the 5k mark which is designed for large office spaces e.t.c. Hmm. Wonder if I should get Mitsubishi up?
  13. I've been using this chap here, parts are made in Poland. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/bmw/other/auction-713273037.htm
  14. So all done. Car is idling normally now with those cables sorted. All up I'm around $450. This includes : New fuel filter New oil filter Penrite full synthetic oil New air filter Rear brake pads (the light was on when I got it - the guy said it just come on, but the bloody brake sensor wire was cut!) Brake rear sensor Main drive belt Bottom hose Temperature sensor (the o ring broke when putting it in on the new one!) The only thing I really have to get done now is the rocker cover gasket which I'm going to order tomorrow. Just a FYI, I've ordered all the parts bar the hose from MillAnd here in Dunedin. Once we'd made payment, the goods were delivered here within an hour and a half. Great to deal with.

    Heatpumps..

I'm sure this has been bought up before here but we're looking at having our heatpump replaced. It's a huge Panasonic and about 6-7 years old and starting to get a bit noisy. That and I've never really been happy with it. We were suggested a certain Panasonic heatpump at the time of installation but we went one above that, but as above we've never really been happy with it. We're on a 160sqm house & directly across the opposite wall of the heatpump we have a heat transfer system. Anyone in the know here of what to go for next? We've been told Daikin several times and have a local firm coming up today to quote us on a replacement unit. Cheers.
  16. This will obviously bang straight into an E46, what's the go with my system where I have the BMW Business CD and the aircon controls underneath, how easy is it to shift the aircon panel below taking out that storage compartment..?
  17. I think my wife would throw me in the loony bin if I spent 50k on a 15-20k car.
  18. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-715300496.htm For owners of childrens, how brilliant is that back seat?
  19. I thought you'd said you had an offer for 27k? At only $2000 over 6 months loss, I'd take the the 27 slides and move on personally and I'd class the tyres and lights just maintenance, i.e 2k on maintenance on a M car isn't that greater deal If it had been a new car, you'd have lost far more than that!
  20. Yup, this was just a quick look on TradeMe. If need be will do the research properly yup.
  21. Yep, I'm not bothered at all. Worst case, we've found a new engine for 1500 bucks done 60kms.
  22. Thanks but no thanks lol. Mikes Toyboata seems nicer..
  23. The repairs won't ever get that high. Can't see it going over 3-500 in absolute total and that's with doing an absolute full service with hose, belt, fuel, oil, air filters and oil for piece of mind. Sadly I think I'll be on selling after that. The car just doesn't enspire any confidence but I will get it right. Won't be sold half assed. Truth is the car is absolutely immaculate body wise.
