No sorry 318 where was that again mate?
-
Who's got one? Just trying to do a bit of research here, interested to know if they have cambelts or are chaindriven? Also, does anyone know what to look for on them i.e common faults, issues. I'm looking into getting a X5 4.4V8 Sportpac 2000-2003 model & under 100,000km Helfen

Yeah the bastards quoted me incorrectly, it was $470, not $417 like I heard him on the phone, they sound the same All up to replace the sensor it was just shy of $800, cause they had to change the oil aswell... Expensive exercise for a car that's only done 30km, it's pretty ratshit imo. The steering rack is giving problems aswell, so I've lost all interest in it because I'm not going to be a sucker for spending money on it. I'm on an X5 now, just trying to find the correct one.... WITH a WARRANTY!!!

Sorry yeah, the other way round, the E30 as a toy Not bored of the E60 yet, but I've just always wanted an X5 & I'm in the position to do so without spending any money lol.

I've been interested in an X5 for quite a while. Realizing that a NZ New Diesel is 50k+ I've found a good fresh Jap import V8. I was keen on getting into a 3.0i petrol I6 but they use as much fuel as the V8's pretty much so I may as well have that extra 40kw and extra torque and sound of the V8 http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=144446824 That is what I'm very keen on. ONLY issue I have with it is the higher mileage, however, I'm going to get a warranty with the vehicle just incase something comes up, because as we all know, BMW's aren't always angels, mine scored a 500+ dollar job today FFS! What ya's think? Plan is to get a nice E30 I6 & an X5 for a toy. I think that unit looks good in black with black windows & the sportpac option. Cheers...........

Hmmm, I'd like to see one of those "accidentally" fall down with one of my huge nets underneath... Super impressive! -
I want your E30 for free Zeitgeist in your sig. Please PM me for delivery details... Jokes.... Have seen that movie Zeitgeist and there's some pretty controversial stuff in there! The new X5's not sure if they are released yet in NZ, but the new ones have a 286hp (213.27kw!!!) 560nm torque inline 6 twin turbo (small turbo for otherwise lag RPM's and one big bastard when the engine has reached a decent RPM to push it even further) diesel engine. Those figures aren't at all bad for a twin turbo 6 cyclinder petrol let alone a oil burner! Imagine if they put that engine into the 1,3,5 series sedans which I think they are... Imagine 213kw let alone 560nm of torque on a 1 series!!! You'd twist the chassis lol!

I've taken the vehicle to a highly reputable European repair agent with all the new BMW Computer gear and they diagnosed the problem as being "The oil level sensor" K.G McLeod in Dunedin, they're simply fantastic for Euro cars. I've taken my Range Rover and several other higher end vehicles to these guys and the guy who owns the place can stand there and tell me exactly what's wrong with the vehicle just from what you've told him - he's never been wrong yet. All BMW owners of the Otago region need to take a note of this company K.G McLeod as they have all the gear to diagnose especially late model BMW's because they have the same equipments as your OEM dealers, yet he's probably faster to diagnose problems hence a cheaper labour charge, they're a country mile cheaper than the OEM dealers at any rate... I'm very very skeptical in taking my vehicles that are worth 45k + to anyone, but these guys are brilliant! I'm happy with that, the part is $417 + Labour which I'm unsure of yet, so probably looking under the $700-$600 dollar mark. Thanks to all the help & time to 318 & Jochen on this matter. Cheers

1 Hell of alot more class & build quality though Greg... Had a look at his u-tube & he sounds like an Aussie no? I think it looks bloody good, when I first seen this thread, I thought it was going to be an E60 M5. Be great to see the finished project!

Is it possible to extract the logs onto a txt file or even .doc file? Be able to see how high RPM the mrs is doing & how many people she has in the car, when she's taken it without asking

Yup, ya get what ya pay for m8 Off topic, seen a nice E36 Coupe M3 in Dunedin before, very very nice.... Was wondering if it was anyones here? It was actually parked behind a E60 MSport in black

I'm pretty sure the GPS aerial is in the shark fin on the back (middle) near the rear window. Because that other box is behind the mirror, you can't actually see it (barely) from the outside, and you definetley can't see it from the inside unless you look on a angle from the floor on the passengers side. Cheers

If it wasn't for PC's I'd be out of a job, cause Apple doesn't get viruses & doesn't require so many repairs lol. So, I like em 4k I spent on my Desktop PC, same specs & power would require twice that from an Apple unit.

Hehehe, just after I posted this, because I was on the watchlist, it came up offering me the car for 42k, that last bid must have been a dodgey bid to increase bids yesterday. There's also mention there of him using illegal plates on the car, not too sure, but the seller doesn't seem at all too genuine if you ask me and personally I'd need that in a seller if I was spending that money on a car.

Dear o farkin dear 318, you have no idea. Imagine what the 7 Series are like at the moment, Imagine what the new 5 series will be like when they release it in 2011

There's a CF Card reader in the boot for the Navigation, next to the DVD ROM for the Navi... Dunno if that would be it though on the rear vision mirror? Would be keen to know where the SIM card goes. Has the phone underneath the centre console behind the gear shifter but there's actually no phone underneath there, there's just a port and cradle for what looks like to be a Nokia phone?

TV in my lounge is on a 10 meter DVI cable with audio cable to serve the ent. unit to watch my 2TB of movies lol.
-
I've asked 318touring already, but here it is anyways... Can anyone explain to me what No Card means? The rear vision mirror looks like the size of a small planet, she's massive. It's also got a black box beside it also...
-
