    WOF Laws

Yup, that's another of their options, there's a few that they've been throwing out there, ultimately it will scrap the 6 monthly for cars older than 5 years.

    WOF Laws

I've looked and surprised that no one has posted about this... The Govt want to save money and save people money by scrapping the 6 month WOF for cars 5 calendar years older & perhaps make a WOF required when the car sells, like Victoria, AU (RWC) Post here your opinions. My opinion is the fact that yes, I might be a little in the know of what is dangerous and what isn't on a car and would be dangerous and have it fixed ASAP... I'm more concerned about other people out there who A.) would notice something and not bother to do something and B.) Have no idea and a major problem goes UN-resolved. In Victoria, you get your ass handed to you on a plate if you're caught driving with a defect and from memory it's points on your licence and a hefty fine, but I'm not sure this would act as a deterrent here. Also, I actually think it would put more strain on the Police force as more regular checkpoints would be required, thus taking them away from more important issues like rapists and Falcon owners.
  3. Awesome thanks Josh, you'd have to hope that they have a farkin good sprinkler system in there incase of a fire. So much irreplaceable stuff in there. Amazing architecture on the building.
  4. Last major cars I had on finance were 10.9 and 11.5 with both UDC and Marac Finance. The bank offered the same or slightly slightly less finance rates but required full up to date financials, which requires about 500 bucks worth of accountants fees.
  5. I guess I'm a degenerate, I just wish I was as perfect hahaha! I don't believe that you both have never been late on anything, it's just not possible in life, I'm sorry but I just don't believe it for forums sake. Two young kids, running a business with staff, three premises with three sets of insurances, utilities sees me getting the odd reminder to pay and it's sorted straight away. In this very case I was given nothing which this was posted & is why I've just finished putting over the required amount to retire this loan. This is not a question of my bank account & this isn't a financial issue, it's simply me forgetting, I've just finished paying for a new Ranger at any rate... Because of this, I've said FU to MTF and have paid the full amount & retired the loan. If I sent a debt collector around to every business that owes me money after only 4 weeks it would see me out of business, the 20th of the month in business seems to be a myth even though my suppliers on a business level are paid within a few days of this yet I'm still owed $$$ by debtors sometimes months afterwards. I'm afraid I disagree on that, IMO if you have 10k in the bank, and you finance a vehicle for 5k IMO (with a good interest rate) this is a good position. Firstly you aren't cutting off your balls by halving your bank account, secondly if something major pops up i.e your fridge blows up, your house burns down you still have you 10 slides in the bank, think of it as an overdraft. I wouldn't recommend financing if you have nothing in the bank, the bus or a pair of Nike's is best for that! Finance wise personally I have a mortgage, the business owed a small amount on my 3 series until today. I've never seen any merit in ticking up TV's e.t.c - I bought a 6k retail TV about 18 months ago, however these bigger items I purchase go on the gold card, I have 3 months to pay on these items before interest starts incurring... now you can buy a similar spec'd model for about 2500. Food for thought!
  6. Are you trying to tell me that you've honestly never had a bill of any sort overdue 4 weeks?
  7. These days and depending on age/kms/value e.t.c a 7k bill on a 7k car would install a can of petrol and light a match and like the wee Asian dude says "walk away" Fark that!
  8. MTF love their fees. It's stupid if you ask me. I called them yesterday and ask for a pay off figure, turns out it was much less than I thought and come Friday the loan will be gone, I won't be dealing with them again.

  10. Yeah but you can't compare them to a 535i or 120d, they are totally different kettle of fish. Vague steering? They're massive & they aren't a sports car, but IMHO they are the best ute on the market when you take into account price and features & comparing them to other "utes" Today I bought 250m of 4x2, and I'm always picking something up and or dropping it off. Having a ute of this calibre will eliminate the requirement of having to have a trailer when carrying smaller loads, cause lets face it those of us who have trailers find it a pain in the ass having to hook them up, drive with them on especially when you are doing other things on that trip at the same time! Those things are hideous IMO and I've seen a few of them in NZ, they're a waste of space. Massive petrol engine, massive car, epicly gutless, colossal MPG.
  11. 90% of it's time will be on the open road and or towing or finding a fishing spot. My 320d will be used for work and city dwelling. But yeah the turning circle is that of Jupiter, they're terrible. Here's some pics..
  12. Around town no, they are quite a big unit, long especially. Can't fit a canopy on the wildtrak, the bars are in the way, but the rear tray with rolling cover make for a fkn massive boot.
  13. Nice one, out of curiosity, what is something like that worth to buy?
  14. They kinda sound like an Audi 5 cyclinder.
  15. Been driving them all! Last weekend I had the VW Amarok, then for a few nights I had the Ford Ranger, I drove the Holden ute and it was terrible, the new BT-50 looks like a failure IMO. Drove the Isuzu and it felt a bit agricultural. So I've ordered the new Wildtrak, even though the Amarok was a better ute, the Amarok is so refined and that twin turbo engine is nothing short of brilliant, so quiet and power everywhere in the rev range even tho it had only done 200kms when I picked it up. The reason I didn't go with it was because with all the toys they are 70k + the Ranger has reversing camera, bluetooth, navigation, heated leather seats, roll over cover on rear and they look the part. The 5 cyclinder donk sounds brilliant.
  16. I wasn't offering the guy a cup of tea or a beer, I made him wait outside while I got the money sorted quickly. He looked like Billy T James.
  17. Spoken to them and they are prepared to wipe some of the fees. Have changed the postal address so this issue won't happen again. He wanted a DD authority to be sorted but I said I'd do an Auto payment. No marks on my credit rating either which I thought would be the case. What a mission!
  18. This is probably a good idea, but after having the contract since September last year I've always paid online manually. I'm one of those people who doesn't like DD authorities and having access to your accounts, after having issues with a Gym membership a few years back.
  19. Yup, big Maori burly fella knocked on my door yesterday to pickup my car. I couldn't believe it at first, but it appeared that I was one month and 4 days over my payment. I'm normally either weeks in advance or a few weeks over but didn't realise that it was that far over, why? Because nothing was sent out, yes I should have known but I thought I'd either get a phone call or something in the mail! - so I asked what address they had and it was my shop address, an address which doesn't have a letterbox! I never gave them this address in the first place after checking over my application which I kept, all correspondence was for our P.O Box. Luckily I had the $700 required in my wallet to make the guy piss off or he was going to take it there & then... you guessed it, the guy who looked like Billy T James didn't get his cup of tea when he visited... So I ring MTF and ask why I wasn't warned prior and they advised that they'd sent out letters e.t.c. but we'd honestly received nothing what soever, I mean I'm not hard up and I would have paid it should I known that it been so many weeks over! They also have my email address, my business phone number, my home number and my cell phone number (this was in the application) Is there anyone out there that knows the ins and outs of repossession? The main reason I'm posting this is because they've added hundreds of dollars of fees to my account and I'm f**king angry about it. Surely they can't repo a car after 4.5 weeks overdue?

A BMW dealership wouldn't get out of bed for 6 slides.

Clinton is just going off what he's been advised & after trading one of my X5's years back at a BMW dealership, they listed it more than 15% of what it was traded at and that particular vehicle didn't require any maintenance bar a little to spruce it up for yard quality. Every sale has a net profit which services overheads i.e wages/rent/mortgage/advertising e.t.c e.t.c.

This may be the amount on some cars sold cheaply but the vast majority would see 20% + After all, some of the major dealerships have massive massive overheads.
  23. I use one for work daily, have done for the past 4 years. I don't revere apple products at all, but it just works for me.

We've been over this one before, it bloody sucks! So what we're a smaller market, this doesn't give cause to charge us that much more IMO. Yup, if you want a LHD one lol!
