  1. It's not the kw I'm after it's the torque! 50nm on the little car should make a difference don't ya rekon Greg?
  2. The little 320d goes pretty well, it's definitely no slouch through the gears, but I'm a bit hungry for the power it seems. Question I'm facing, it's had no real problems at all in 12 months of ownership bar an airbag light and indicator earth issue, it feels as tight as a drum still, however it's done 218kms now and I'm thinking about remapping it (like I did with the X5) it's turned out to be a brilliant daily car. Currently it is 100kw and 280nm - a remap will see 121kw and 330nm and cost about $800. The remap on the X5 entirely changed the whole car in the way the power was delivered. Will the old girl handle it? Is it worth it?
  3. In a nutshell. Most of the time you know where it's been, what it's been and who's owned it. IMO better resale value also, even given the fact you might pay a bit more at purchase.
  4. The local garage here charges $99 for an oil filter service for a standard car... They will also top up radiator, check tyre pressures advise if fluids low...
  5. It's a no brainer IMO, the first one or else.

    Fella we're talking the 60's -70's
  7. THIS. Great way of getting them to sleep. My 3 year old goes out like a light after about 3-5kms when tired lol.
  8. True but when we're talking 8 seconds in a "sports car"

I think I heard somewhere it was producing 500nm plus and 300hp? On a fibreglass car with no weight that would have been quite a bit of fun.

    Quite a cool looking beast!
  11. So much hype, uglier than a bag of assholes and the 0-100 time might as well be measured by a calendar not a stop watch. My near on 13 year old 320d is only 2 seconds to 100kph slower! Personally; not for me
  12. I've heard the stories and know for sure it isn't a myth lol, but we just didn't really get any of it, several 2-3am'ers but that's about it. Either that or I slept through the whole lot haha!

GLWS, I just sold my rideon lawnmower, could have done a deal on that!
  14. Many complain about sleepless nights, we've honestly had none of this, yup maybe for a few nights here and there with our two. Our 5 month old goes to bed at 6:00-6:30 and sleeps right through for 12 hours, this was the same for our first. Routine works, a good feed and well burped works!
  15. Congrats Greg, enjoy mate!
  16. Is it time he un-installed oxygen?
  17. Hmmmmm. If it was an auction, I could only imagine the questions being asked by haters. Cheer up sleepy DREAM, oh what can it DREAM, to ah, day DREAM believer and a, home coming DREAM!
  18. I think this thread is probably a waste of time, the guy has super feedback, not even a blue face! At the scale of 1376 positive trades, I doubt you could ask for anything better IMO.
  19. Being Chinese is he sure he didn't mean the Shuanghuan CEO ?

    WOF Laws

Sorry guys but a mileage based WOF system just wouldn't work, there's no real way of policing it, & there will be people out there with older cars that will wind the clock back & secondly, safety items on a car can be subject to deterioration over time, not so much mileage.

    WOF Laws

I don't want to sound sick at all, but I actually take pride and enjoy spending money on my cars especially when it comes to maintenance, I think it gives me piece of mind that it leaves less chance to having something go wrong unexpectedly. Jeeze mate, if they were doing more than three an hour (per inspector) they'd have to be missing things, especially if they don't have a rolling road and require a road test. It will normally take half an hour minimum, with some dodgy cars taking as much as an hour. I see where you're coming from there Dave and respect the fact you have 18 years experience, however my point would be that I'm more concerned about other motorists on the road who either simply have no idea on their cars current safety status or those who simply don't care. For both of those categories, the current WOF system picks these up at sooner intervals thus reducing the chance of prolonged wear & tear and decrease in the chance of an accident.

    WOF Laws

I think some people have to remember that WOF's are a visual inspection and if the pads in this case aren't visible, the inspector isn't required to remove the wheel for a closer inspection. If the inspector missed that whilst it was visible then he/she needs their authority removed or reprimanded.
  23. Sweet! First time poster! I can almost guarantee that it wasn't checked at a BMW dealership? Or at least a reputable BMW repair?

    WOF Laws

There has to be a financial gain in it somewhere for the govt. There's nothing else that seems to motivate them these days.
  25. Pictures? IMO any 4 door sedan will give better resale value at the other end if you're worried about this, it should also sell faster.
