Au contraire. A friend has a program on his laptop that he rigs up to tune his cars, and for the sake of an argument one day we rigged a temp monitor in my k&n pod filter itself, and used his laptop to record temperatures sucked in. As a control, we put a temp monitor outside the cai (stuck to the side of it nearest the engine), and went for a drive. Only below 5km/h did the temp monitor show anything remotely near the engine temp. And even then it wasn't even very close. At speeds over 30km/h the temp inside the pod was cool enough to keep beer respectable.

Basically anything that's visible. Well as much as possible. I could take a picture and label it tomorrow?

Is there any single type of hose I can use? Ie, just all silicone??
-
Its an example of the colour I'm going for. I know exactly what the wires are and that theyre not silicone hosing, just the quickest example I could find... DRTDVL - I'll be wanting to replace ALL hosing if possible in the engine bay. And that sleeving stuff looks good! Edit - And Glenn, I know its not a honda, or I'd be purchasing a carbon fibre rocker cover and redoing the fuse box and other bits and pieces in carbon fibre... Oh, wait....

I want to "dress" up my engine with pretty blue/red silicone hose. Essentially replacing all the boring black stuff. Not so much for performance, but more cosmetics. I am interested though in any performance gains (if any, somehow I sincerely doubt it) silicone hose could provide. Noob question 1. Can I simply remove all the old hose while the engine is off, cut and crimp new hose on, and (in my head) simply turn the key again once all the hose is replaced and the car will start and drive perfectly fine? Is it really as simple as that? Noob question 2. Ive seen the pricing of proper silicone hose. Ouch. Is it safe to use rubber hosing? Or where can I get it from a smidgen cheaper? Cheers, And here's a visual example.

Ah, thanks for that. Just thinking of shaving off those tenth seconds that are oh so important in city driving Well count me in for whatever group buy you do. I don't know if I already have a shorty or if it will even fit, but hey, what the hell. I can onsell if its not suitable/I already have one.

How do I get one even shorter? Just chop the shaft itself?

I paid $30 NZ for a key from Germany just the month gone by. Was through a friend. Could pass on his details if you like? He bought in a large bunch of VW keys and just tacked mine on the order

So much serious on the site at the moment. Here's a small funny email forward I received today:

Manual box. Reverse at the left left up position. LOVE IT

It would look great on Airbags and some Work Meisters

Yes, +1 for a super low profile one if possible! Jacking up the front with the standard jack just to get the trolley jack is a tad tedious. I'd buy one that could be as low as 50mm in a flash!

Reminds me of couch racing. Plenty fun until this happens

Hell yeah, that looks like hella fun!! Its not like fanging your M3 through sand dunes or offroading it. Its more like taking her up a back gravel road and having a bit of a rally challenge, which it perfectly fine. Each to their own. Its your own vehicle, do with it as you want. I think it looks like total fun!

On another forum I sit on, they have the option to censor or not censor R13 words in your profile options thingy. Best option imo. That way those that prefer asterisks can read asterisks.

If youre simply just looking at running amps off the headunit, look at getting high -->> low converters or just a simple line driver. Quick example: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-225277652.htm If you're dead set on an EQ to do the lot, pop into places like Sound Q, Sound around, rapid radio. If they dont have them, they can get them. Alternatively trademe and http://forums.nzicemag.co.nz can help too.
