  1. Most of the undercar part of the conversion was done with the 4x2 hoist timber with special rock prop. It looks like owner likes the conversion too.

Cool. Cheers guys. I'll take a look at the place in Thorndon. Yup, i have 2 docks (one at home, one at work), but primarily used for plugging into my computers. I'm talking more for when I'm around town. Will an headphone amp do the deed straight into an ipod?

Cool.. Are those Momo wheels on there? I tried to get similar ones for my car, but were told they wouldn't fit. Man, my car scrapes when i am exiting some driveways, hate to think what yours would do!

Recommendations for headphones?? I've got an IPOD, and am using the street style sony headphones. I agree. Most of mp3 collection is from my vast collection of CDs. A lot of my stuff would be bootlegs of live shows etc. I like to also download albums before they are released and then buy the album if its worthwile. Sort of like, a 'try before you buy' kind of attitude

    Gaargh!

Bought a slave one as well.. Bloody cheap, at $20 or something for the slave, and $30 something for the master recon i think. Give them a bell. There's one in Porirua I think Mike. I've just PMd you anyway.

    DVD Burner?

I use AnyDVD to bypass any restrictions on a DVD (when using bits and pieces of footage for things), and use Nero Vision Express to compress onto one single layer DVD. Then burn with Nero as well. I think Sony have released some dual layer drives. Don't know if available to the public yet tho...
  9. Tim is the man   Burnouts are now a possibilty with my car... no crappy random gear changings for me... ooohhh yea.. the 5spd kicks ass. Was quite a relatively good conversion.. Started late on the Sat with the removal of the exhaust, heatsheilds, diff, then Tim had to drop some skirt off in Wellington.. Took out the old clunky auto gearbox (those things are heavy) the flywheel, torque convertor (heavy as well) etc. The flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, spigot bearing, and release bearing went in next. Then we decided to bust a few brews, and get totally smashed.. Feel sorry for the people's property that Tim destroyed on the way home from the pub! Poor gardens will never look the same in Palmy. Too hungover the next day we finally got up at midday... gearbox was in straight away with no problems. Pedal box in quick time. Diff. Then came the nightmare..... some retard decided it'd be a good idea to fuk the thread on the master cylinder (end that connects to the clutchlines) arggghhh!!!! Tim wasn't a happy chappy which was fair enufff. After a few hours of trying everything and numerous calls to Hartage/Ian, Tim managed to stop the leak that i had caused from stuffing the thread  Bled the clutch. Was no resistance, so had air pockets in line, so after talking to Ian pressurised the air out by pumping the clutch three times, holding clutch down while Tim opened the bleed valve on the slave cylinder. Did this a few times, and managed to bleed the clutch successfully. Threw heatsheilds and exhaust back on, then walla. Tim took the car out for a test drive... sheesh it was fun, hooning the outskirts of palmy... A couple of parts were missing such as wiring for the reverse lights, and the rubber bit that covers the hole where the gearshift comes through. All in all, a very successful and fun weekend. Thanks to Tim for a great learning experience, and for showing me it is possible to drink copious amounts of alcohol is less than a couple of hours. Big ups to Ian as well, the vast fountain of knowledge that he is.
  10. that's a work of art compared to some of the crap on Jimmy's 540i nightmare page. such as the Accord/BMW 5 series.

chur doi. Yup, they are my legal plates. They are actually issued by BMW Group, and Personalised Plates. Same as the euro ones you can buy from Personalised Plates, but with a BMW logo on it instead of ghey silver fern. oohh yea... the 5 speed and copius amounts of cold tuis while listening to Blue oyster colt
  12. Dude.. that would have been like winning the lottery getting $10 at that age... what did you spend it on? Sparkles.. I've got a few fruit bursts stuck to my carpet if you have a sweet tooth.

    MP3'S

I've read articles where MP3s are doing the damage as the industry thinks. One article points to the following reasons: 1) People have replaced most of their vinyl, tapes etc to CD by now 2) Decline in 'singles' buying 3) Increase in other enterainment options such as video games, DVDs etc 4) No big 'fad's such as Britney's, Michael Jackson etc. selling multi-millions $$ in sales 5) I can't remember what else "Movies, software and video games are actively downloaded, and yet these industries have continued to grow since the advent of file sharing,". Reasons for the decline in music sales include, they suggest, "poor macroeconomic conditions, a reduction in the number of album releases, growing competition from other forms of entertainment such as video games and DVDs - video game graphics have improved and the price of DVD players and movies have sharply fallen - [and] a reduction in music variety stemming from the large consolidation in radio along with the rise of independent promoter fees to gain airplay". .... the top 25 per cent of albums - those with sales of 600,000 copies or more - one extra copy was sold on average for every 150 downloads. "Kazaa and co ‘not cause of music biz woes’, say Profs", Tony Smith Tuesday 30th March 2004 It still affects the industry though, but maybe not as much as the Recording Industry lets on. There are a few study's that have been carried out on this.

I use DC++ to download my stuff. Bit of a pain to use, but no malware like kazaa has. ps. if you need to use kazaa, download kazaa lite which is a hacked version which is minus the bad stuff.
  15. Mint mate. Looking good at Manfeild the other weekend. Good to see another Wellingtonian!

Nice mate.. Nothing like an E30 with straight panels. :thumb:
  17. AHAHA.. what knob gobblins.... that's classic..... I wonder if the pets come with the house?
  18. sweet as. The more we start on Friday the more time we have to 'test' out the new gearbox on the Sat or Sunday. Give that new clutch a bit of a working in :mosh:
  19. looking good Mike.. I'll have to check out your sounds when i check out those parts of your mates. My speakers are all covert and hidden behind factory covers.. The fronts probably should be on the door, but oh well, gives a thief nothing to look at. Will putting the other amp behind that panel affect cooling of the amp? or it doesn't get to that point where it's creating a decent amount of heat?
  20. luckily no oncoming cars eh? some of those corners are a tad suspect... quite narrow... The waves crash quite a bit on the roads as well.
  21. Bemaboi, have you tried the guys at Maclennan Performance down Willis Street? They maybe able to help you, as I had them do my suspension and shocks. NOt too bad job, and they're decent fullas and fullesses.
