Here's my thoughts. Not saying I'm right, but it's my opinion nonetheless. I acknowledge I have a pretty dam irresponsible attitude to drinking. Having said that, sure I get smashed fairly regularly, but I'm not one of those people who causes sh*t. I don't damage property, I don't break bottles, I don't abuse cops, I don't start fights, I don't get abusive. At the end of the day, I'm only doing damage to myself, and I am fully aware of the negative short and long term effects of alcohol. First off, RTDs- My friends and I all drink very heavily on occasions (I could tell you several stories you would have trouble believing). I'd say 90% of them would only drink beer, maybe with a bottle of wine or some spirits occasionally if the beer wasn't doing the trick. Perhaps this is the exception not the rule, but we easily get through 15-20 standards a night on just beers and you definitely get pissed enough. The whole "All teenagers drink strawberry lemon popsicle schnapps" mindset is not true. Go ahead, ban RTDs I couldn't care less, they all taste like sugary piss to me. If I want to get realllly smashed (yeah it's bad but I'm young and It's not going to be forever), a wine cask is the way to go. 28 drinks for 16 bucks and it's pretty easy to just slug back. I've never paid for a single RTD in my life. Having said that though, out of all of my friends, I probably drink the most socially also. I have a couple of beers a few times a week because I enjoy the taste. Secondly, Age - I'm not going to debate whether as 18 year olds we are mature enough to buy alcohol. Because it basically comes down to a person by person case. A lot 18+ years olds are far too irresponsible to drink (probably me), where as some 15-18 year olds have the right attitude towards alcohol (Nick for example). Putting a blanket age on something is never going to be 100% successful, whether it's driving, firearms, smoking, whatever. But as has been said, this will not stop us 18/19s from getting piss. I could easily get it when I was 15 (had a fake ID at 16) and the same will apply with the age at 20. Thirdly Other hidden consequences - What will happen if they make alcohol much harder to get? Drugs. A lot of young people are keen to experiment, and the harder and pricier alcohol is to get, the more often teenagers will just say screw it, I'll take an E or some speed tonight. Doing that sh*t is like smashing your brain to bits with a shovel. I'd much rather see someone drink to the point of unconsciousness than pop a pill, for the sake of their long term mental health. Dealers don't give a crap how old you are. It'd definitely be easier and less stressful to buy drugs as a teen than it would be to buy alcohol under age. At the end of the day, changing the age isn't going to change a hell of a lot. The culture is just that, a culture. More regulation isn't going to change that.

After reading that I'm never complaining about fuel economy ever again. Until I get an M5 in the future

Markets change, cars change, incomes change, fuel prices change. Why would BMW keep making the same stuff they did 20 years ago? For any of us to question the strategies of a company as large as BMW is quite simply ignorant. They do what's best for their bottom line. It's a company, with the sole aim of PROFIT. They don't aim to please enthusiasts who are in love with the cars that were made 10+ years ago. And if any of you, as single consumers in a tiny country claim to know what's best for the brand, you need to pull your head out of your ass. What they're making currently and into the future might not please us, but it will sure as hell sell like hotcakes.

Haha when you put it that way, why did I even consider the focus?

My suggestion is to re-mortgage the house... then you can get a mac.

I like it, should go well with the green of your e30.

All of the scepticism in the last few posts makes me think I might just wait to demo it until I commit the $$$ . I thought GT4 was a good game, I still play it once every few months. But yeah, I wasn't as hooked to it as I was to GT1/2/3. But that's probably because I was over the age of 13 when it came out and had something that resembled a life.
-
Argh, and here I was thinking I'd actually save some money over summer. GT5 + PS3 purchases = $700 less I'll have for next year
-
Agreed. With that many drivers who threw caution to the wind, I have no idea how 99% of the race wasn't run under safety car. Awesome vid.

On those wheels, your e30 is the coolest one I've seen for sometime.

262kW from 2500cc... that's freakin insane. No way FWD could cope with that. I love it though.
-
Lol at everyone having a cry. It's a new car. If you don't like it (translation: FWD) then don't buy it. I can see a lot more purpose in this car than in the X6/X3. And it looks great as well, very alfa. FWD has a lot of benefits over rear wheel drive, especially in a car this small. Not every BMW owner wants to do big smoking powerslides in their cars. Didn't something like 80% of 1 series owners think their car was FWD.

Enough to make it on the rich list I'm guessing.

I've had 2 sets of smokin' buds and Full metal jackets. The sound's good for the money, great bass, midrange lets them down a little bit. They're great for hip hop. Durability wise, they're a lot better than the sennheisers I had but still not great. Doesn't matter though, they have a great warranty so when they inevitably break, it's a piece of piss to get replacements.

Well that is a monopoly in that there is still only one firm in the market. The monopoly will be broken when a new firm starts up. -
Apart from looks and marginally better performance I've heard they aren't a lot different. Realistically, what will you get out of the E70 that you aren't getting out of your E53? Anything? Sure the heart says upgrade, but the brain says don't bother. All you're doing is forking out cash for a vehicle that's going to depreciate a lot more than your current one. Obviously your money though so go for it.

Yeah that was pretty fast, I only viewed the auction and they still sent an email.

Verrrrrrry niiiiice. Something not quite right about the wheels though. And they're too big.
