  1. I have no idea about e30s, but in my 3S-FE toyota I found on 98 I got 7.5L/100km and with 95/96 I got about 7.9L/100Km. Doing the math back when 98 was about 15cents per litre more than 95 (don't know the difference now) from an economy point of view, 95 worked out cheaper even though its less economical. However, even though my car had fairly low stressed 16valve 80s engine the performance gains were pretty noticeable. 98 seemed to run so much smoother and there were noticeable low down torque increases. As stated previously 98 could be a placebo more than anything else. 91 is definitely crap though. Way less power and far less economical. So I always get 95 from caltex.
  2. That is so insane. You should be proud of what you have built. Say what you like, but nothing sounds nearly as good as a high performance N/A engine.

    Actual Speed

At an indicated 100km/h my car is doing 91km/h on the GPS. I believe it, because when I jump in my parents late® model BMWs the GPS reads about 98km/h at an indicated 100. That and if I sit at an indicated 100 I'm way slower than most of the other open road traffic, but I keep up at about 110.
  4. Completely agree. Oooooh yeah Maserati's are sooooooo nice.
  5. It looks a lot like the E class Mercs, especially with those 5 spoke rims.

    Awkward

Our old boat trailer snapped a pretty major structural component leaving us stranded on a thin shoulder on one of the countries most dangerous state highways. We had to get in a spare trailer and roll the boat off of the broken trailer onto the road and then back onto the replacement trailer. Balancing a boat on a couple of old tyres with cars whizzing past you about a metre away at 100k+ isn't that fun.

    Malware

Yep, running chrome and avast antivirus. One of the warnings I get is (I think) Mattzy's smoking counter. I just ignore the warnings, its not harmful.
  11. Fluoro accents = the best trend in car modification ever.
  12. Would look very cool on some better wheels. You'd think they'd put up an engine bay picture.
  13. Awesome car, love the wheels. If it looks like the darker red one above it'd be hot, if it's like the pictures... yeah nah.
  14. Inform your insurance company. Let them deal with it.
  15. Get rid of both, they're awful. I'll tell you what, because I'm so generous, I'll take them off your hands for free. Gorgeous cars chief. Keep the shark.
  16. Yeah energy drinks are god awful things. I rarely drink them, only when I'm desperate for energy, maybe once a month. Or during the winter going on day trips to the mountain I'll have 4-5 in a day, starting at 4.30am and going right through to 9pm. When you're driving 6 hours and participating in very demanding physical activity for 7 hours they help hugely and keep me very alert at the wheel. I heard of a guy who drank 2 lift plus' a day for 2 years and had to spend about $4,000 on dental work. He probably didn't brush his teeth a lot, but it's still frightening. I try and avoid caffeine as much as possible. It's really hard on your stomach and just bad for your body/health in general. I never mix it with alcohol either... Bad idea in my opinion. As for bourbon and coke, unless it's quality bourbon and Coca Cola in a glass, the thought of it makes me want to spew.
  17. Wait, what? NZ lager is the most rancid sh*t that's ever entered my mouth! Ranfurly my friend, that's a quality brew.
  18. Double brown and Ranfurly. 190 cans in the last 5 weeks. Other than that, L & P is the nectar of GODS. I could drink that sh*t by the gallon.
  19. Surely this isn't the sort of car you'd auction off at turners?
  20. Yes. My front number plate and lip are held on with cable ties. My rear right brake light is held on with double sided tape. (you would never guess looking at it). My boot popper mechanism is an improvised bit of string after the cable broke. My air intake hose is sealed with duct tape. A special technique involving pliers (known only to me) must be employed to get the bonnet popper to work. I have drilled several holes in my jack compartment to stop it from filling up with water when it rains hard. The plasitc compartment under my head unit fits only because I had to file the sh*t out of it. Some of my exterior trim is held on with improvised washers made from black mesh. As much as I crave a BMW, often I enjoy owning a toyota more, as I can thrash the sh*t out of it without it missing a beat and rangi fixes really don't matter. Cost of above "repairs"... probably about $2, haha
