  2. Hi all, I am wanting to replace my E36 with a E39 530, Looking for a 2000+ with under 100,000k. I am laso wanting to get one that has a AV/NAV system that is fully functioning in NZ, from what i can tell i need a late 2001 model or later?, if i get the VIN number what should i be looking for on the lookup? I am new to the E39 world so any tips anyone has on buying one would be great! Thanks.

  4. Hi, looking to replace the plastic covers under engine and in drivers side wheel arch, there are 3 peices i am after. 1. the big center one (about as long as raidiator) 2. drivers corner peice which screws onto bottom of bumper 3. front peice of wheel arch protector which joins onto 1 and 2 and has the hole for airduct from front bumper all i really needs are peices that have the mounts still intact rather than having to hold it together with cable ties. thanks, matt

  6. hi all, e36 323i, bad coolant leak ... all coolant drained, i wasn't with the car when it happened but my friend showed me where he thinks the coolant was comming from (im not 100% sure if this is where the actual leak is), there was pooling underneath the area so i know its in that general area. Please see bellow pics and if posible can someone tell me what this part actually is? i think its somthing to do with the heater? thanks in advance. the metal thingy with the yellow paint on the top.

    Internet plans

wait a month or so. hint hint.
  8. imo best/consistant speed = telecom
  9. Ok so I’ve rerouted the power as far away from the audio wiring as possible and shortened it. So far can't hear the noise ... so fingers crossed it stays that way when i get around to taking it for a drive. Thanks all for your help.
  10. power and ground is 4 Gauge cable, probably only half a meter long, amp is a little 2 channel (cant remember rating). Will have a gork when i get home... might have to get some longer cable to ground it elsewhere.
  11. thanks for the fast replys, Amp is mounted in bracket where stock cd staker normally is (above battery in boot), and scince it is so close it has been wired directly to the battery terminals, i assume this is ok as it is a very small amp (someone please tell me if this is a mistake). Will try seperating the speaker cables better when i get home too see if that helps ... will report back. Thanks all.
  12. Hi all, I have an isssue where i am getting a whistling/whining noise through my front speakers, the noise increases the higher the engine revs, altho if i turn them up i can drown it out. This happens on my front speakers which are amp'd but not on my rears which arn't. I am thinking my amp may be poked but was woundering if anyone else had any surgestions before i rip it out and try another one. Thanks in advance.
  13. had exactly the same problem .... previous owner had just fitted aftermarket pads and was really noisy, had the pads and rotors changed for oem (rotors done coz they were gettin abit on the old side), and it instantly fixed the noise.
  14. Hi all, I am looking to replace the stock nokia speakers that i have in the front of my 323, just have a couple of questions: 1. Amplifying big difference or not really worth the money? 2. If i use a amp will the stock speaker wiring handle it? (i know its always better to replace but i would rather not pull half the interior out to do so) 3. What kind of power amp should i be looking at? 4. battery is in the boot so i assume it is safe to power amp straight off there? Car is a e36 323 coupe Pioneer head unit (cant remember model but was 500bux a couple of months ago and has 2 lots of RCA out) Speakers for the front i am still undecided on, looking at 5.2" infinity reference or maybe JBL GTO-506C (i am open to suggestions) and in terms of bux to spend, would like to keep it $400 or less if possible but can stretch that. Also i wont be using a sub. Thanks in advance. Edit: added no. 4
  15. Hi, had Similar problem, turned out that one of the blades on the fan that runs directly off the engine (yes I am very technical…pffft) was broken, had the fan replaced and it ran fine from there on. But yes if its not that get it scanned could end up wrecking something if u leave it too long.
  16. hi have poked around the engine bay and turns out one of the blades on the fan is broken off, spoke to glenn who confirmed that this COULD be the cause of the vibration as it will create an imbalance, getting this fixed on friday ... hopefully its not anything more serious. thanks.
  17. yep was going to when i get outa work... just woundering if this had happened to anyeone else.
  18. hi all, a couple of days ago my 323i developed a vibration when the engine is started, it lasts aprox 10 secs and then goes away. it happens when warm and cold, at first i suspected bad mounts but would i be correct in thinking if this was the issue then it would vibrate all the time? Also just to note it doesn't matter if its in park neutral or drive it still does it. any ideas? should i be worried? Thanks. PS. no dash lights or warnnings on screen ither.
  19. the wideband cdma and GSM equipment is in place at some sites but the decision has been made to rip the gsm equipment out where it has been installed and just leave the WCDMA which will eventually be installed all around the country... from memory the loss on the gsm decision was just over 30million
  20. hi all, my plastic underbody protector thingy is begining to come appart was woudnering if anyone knows where i can get another one or if there are any aftermarket aluminum ones available? Thanks
  21. yasthil... you 123, bb or n&m???
  22. RE: lufu..... yup trial starts nov ... most of the w-cdma equipment has been commissioned but will take aprox a month to get it fault free'ish, hence nov launch. also yes they have decided to get rid of the gsm equipment but that is not to say we are swapping it out ... originally all auckland sites that were being upgraded had the wcdma and gsm equipment installed, therefore we are just removing the gsm units, all the wcdma units, rectifiers and batteries etc stay as is. in sort it basically means that i have to keeps hauling the 250kg alcatel-lucent crates around , the gsm ones were only 160kg
  23. i have a similar LED looking thing at the end of the speedo ( by 260km/hr) no idea what it is ... maybe related???
