  1. Sorry conrod, doing it on the cheap isn't what I have in mind lol.. I was just curious if there was any pistons out of another engine that were stronger than the items in mine, aka more suited to recieving some additional aspiration. Cheers for your reply topcat, Yeah the US guys (apart from e30tech guys..) seem to be giving the engines a quick recon then running lower psi's with them, I'm keeping my eyes on what the Swedish are doing... As far as additional fuel requirements I'm thinking about running a second set (6) of injectors (to be controlled via whichever ecu I end up running) - Debating whether it's worth the effort to run ITB's and use a larger plenum. From research the injectors run at nearly 90% duty cycle under full load in a standard engine.. So would be good to swap them with some that are less 'stressed' - Someone on here was using ford 5.0 ones? The fuel pump will be upgraded. I will be using a tubular manifold, positioning of the downpipe will be the issue, with the steering colomn in the way - I'm sure it can be worked around though, with a bit of heat shielding... I'll most likely be getting DCH here to build the engine, with some parts I supply. I've got to get my hands on maximum boost...
  2. You have the ones which are visible from the outside of the car?
  3. I'm not sure if the dealers would be able to get these, but there were seals available for the m3 evo which seal the between the fender and the bonnet.. Very cool..
  4. Yeah man that would be my other car - 320i manual. It's the work horse, It's going to be lowered, magged then signwritten. I live down that st, Everyone sees me pulling off it onto moorhouse, I keep getting txt from one night girlfriends who recognise me.. M50 is soon to be in bits and pieces, still waiting on the panel beaters to finish the car up.. Oh you've got a mrs? I'll keep her warm while you're gone, How much for her as is?
  5. My expectations are see how this goes at a fairly low psi - Should be very responsive if I don't really muck around with the compression, Wait till the headgasket blows.. lol.. And then slowly upgrade the componantry. The appeal of dialing up power after upgrades sounds good - Knock sensor could be the go too... I realise it's by far not the most ideal way of going about business, I'd prefer to either get some pistons made or salvage some factory BMW ones out of another motor - does the m20 share the same bore? I've got enough m20's lying around... Hell even better if the pistons by chance lower the compression so I can up the boost.
  6. M50TU (Vanos on intake cam) conrod So essentially on this engine vanos is one step is an on/off switch? I think disabling vanos will be a backwards evolutionary step lol.. Learning how to read compressor maps won't be a problem - just finding the time to do it! Am I on the right track with the building of the engine? Should anything else be done while I'm in there?
  7. I've got in my possesion an m50 out of a late 95 325i (was manual) which is going into my E30. I'm trying to make the thing as indestructable as possible... (the schnitzer carbon fibre valve cover definately helps ) The plan is ARP head studs, MLS headgasket (think thick...) and planning on leaving the bottom end stock asides from ARP rod bolts, Not sure what else to do at this stage, the head will be cleaned up prior to re-installation. Any worthy piston swaps to bump up the displacement/lower the compression? For engine management I'm very very inclined to use a link setup (My uncles evo9 is on thier site, they are building up the evolink for the 9's off his car.. they've had it for about 3 months now..) but the concern for me is the system able to control vanos? Another concern of mine is which turbo to use on this setup - Any factory vehicle's turbo's worthy? - I'm no good at reading compressor maps lol.. Primary concern is the ability to go fast, not explode.
  8. Leaving? No wheels up for sale ?
  9. I've got a set of OZ 17's with 235's for the front 255's for the back for my car - on test fit they are good.. Back is the issue, But you can squeeze 235's up front..

    So now you know

I let buses, cars of whatever nature, just about anything in when I'm in a good mood - bar 4wd's with single women in them - they can enjoy the wait. A pet hate of mine is boyracers who drive into the turning lane then launch it and cut infront of you going straight. I managed to nearly (all four wheels locked up) put a Wrx into a parked car when he decided he'd do that manouver, only realising that I took off faster than he assumed resulting in him running out of useable road very quickly - He even gave me the finger
  11. Staunch as.. The exhaust is about the only thing that looks remotely un-natural - even though it's similar to a bzg wagon. Mad props.

    Watermarks.

I can reccomend a product we use, Called "Malco Waterspot Remover" Available from Pacer Car Clean Products - We occasionally use it on severe acid rain fresh imports (normally the paint's stuffed too). You have to ensure the windows are clean of any residue or any other debris. Follow the instructions on the packet, It is _very_ easy to scratch the glass with it, So unless your windows are very bad it might be more hassle to do them at risk of damage as opposed to being able to bare with them. Occasionally a light cutting compound on a soft buff pad will take them out.
  13. I run a very busy car grooming business that specialises in dealership grooming, not many public clients - too much trouble chasing up public accounts! Dad had a mobile operation for a while, I ended up learning how to do it then moved into a place that had a very similar setup to what I have now, got sick of working for someone - Started up this one. Running very well, Haven't had time to finish the signwriting on the front of the building thats been waiting to be completed since the start of when I arrived 3 months ago! I have UE (ncea 1,2,3) and looking to make some coin, and pick up a house and hopefully buy up a few M3's before moving onto Uni to study business/geology. The appeal of getting to drive some nice cars is quickly outweighed by the appeal of making some good money. We have ended up through word of mouth almost exclusively grooming the best yards resulting a copious amount of e46's, new audis, land rovers, etc... Keeps me on my toes!
  14. I've got a white 1991 320i, With a 2.5 motor in and can supply manual conversion - or sell shell less motor and box. Plates live, reg on hold.
  15. I've got a zender one which will plaster the 80's back onto your ride.

    Ford Falcodore

Selling the beauty... 1991 EB Ford Falcon, High K's - 350,000+ It's spent most of it's life as a Taxi so I can only assume it's been well maintained. 3.9 Six, Automatic, LPG - (apparantly the LPG setup in this is worth over $1500 second hand) LPG means $10 gets you 10litres which gets you just shy of 100kms of driving, Which is amazing considering the size of the car. Four brand new second hand tyres, Good tread, Especially on the fronts - 15" Fairmont whizzles, Black centres with silver lip. Problems: Gearbox "bands need tightening" - On occasion tries to start in 3rd, remedied by manually putting it into 1st. Rego : A month out. Steering Bushes : Worn. Petrol operation not going, Needs two fuel injectors - Last ones poked, Didn't bother replacing due to LPG cheap to run. It's sport optioned with a black bonnet, and rear spoiler. Heaps of leg room, but useless as it scares girls away - good if you already have a girl who has no shame. $900 ono (prepared to haggle or swap) Place bets now! (Pics come later.)
  17. Is there something wrong with the wheels that are on there now? I think they look sex Coming along bloody nicely.
  18. Whats the reason for sale? Is it because you are now a Honda owner?
  19. Go see a place called 'Pacer' up there and pick up some Mag Acid, Water it down a smidgin - Works wonders here, we use it to clean our floors in the warehouse. They might even have a specialised driveway cleaner.. or an alternate. Thats odd, I've never heard of an old toyota shitting all over a driveway before..!
  20. I've got a car grooming business and we deal with this on a daily basis. If degreaser doesn't take them off, use a solvent - but test it on a patch first. Other than that the easiest (yet most tedious) way would be to individually pick at each one...
  21. Good condition E30 4-door facelift shell, Plates still live (reg on hold) - Body in alright condition, a few dents. Was originally a 320i Auto, Has a pre-fl 325i motor in it now - Selling with no box. Interior when re-fitted is immaculate. I think the car had 160,000k's prior to the conversion - Can supply the service history with the vehicle. Good to put a manual box in, get the thing back on the road, Just needs radiator brackets made up - (to fit pre-fl rad) and a few other bits and pieces (some fuel wiring) - Has pre-fl loom in it out of a 2-door - So requires extension built to the back for the doors - or alternatively just use manual window winders. Pics soon. Offers. Located in CHCH If sold for above $1250 will include manual gear box out of a 320i.
  22. This car looks even more sex in person. Photo's don't do it justice. Staunch as with no spoiler and immaculate paint.
  23. Where would be the best place to tap an oil feed for a turbo on this engine?
  24. Alrighty, Got the E34 pan on today along with the E34 oil pickup - One less thing to do... The Getrag 260 will be in it by next Friday if all goes according to plan, and then the motor and box in over the weekend.
  25. Hey Chris, Looking doubtful with that radiator - It's the only non-leaking one for my 325..
