GAC would be Graeme Clyde. Obviously, I'm going with DCH, but Graeme knows a lot about E30's. Would be more of a specialist in all out performance (6 cylinder) on them, that's for sure. On the 318iS front, the club president has the mintest one for sale at the moment. I believe $12-13k E36 Hell Red. I also believe that there are now 20 CSL's in the country. If you are talking about hotting up an M42, take it to Richard at DCH, as they are the base for the Super Tourer motor (S42).

Give me your car for a while Andrew, I'll show you how to launch it. Shouldn't take too long to figure out. :bounce:

It depends on how you expect to drive and get power. Something driveable around town will not give you the best kW up top. e.g. Why people with M3's that don't thrash them like 330i's. One is a sports car, the other is an excellent all-rounder. Also do you mean the entire exhaust system or just a muffler?

I believe a competition compound. I have found no problem to use them as daily driving pads either. http://www.racebrakes.co.nz/pdf/brake_upgrade.pdf or see attached file. Mine squeal a bit from time to time. Nothing major though. brake_upgrade.pdf

I assume that price is supplying a set of backing plates for the compound to be mounted on. Looked into them, but bought the Mintex 1166 instead. David is fitting some to his E30, so I'll be interested to see how it goes.

Nice Gus. All it's missing is a 6 speed gear knob. I've got one rolling around the back of the Falcon. Come and get it.
-
Well done Andrew. Look forward to seeing you at Puke. :rambo: down the back straight, none of this racing between roundabouts! Still looking into tyres for you too.

Weekend at Bernies :thumb: You didn't get any better looking while you were over there Grant. Good to see you back.

C'mon Sudo, calling Hamilton a city is like calling an old Skoda a car. You can get around with a manual (once your licence allows). So far London is the only place I've been where an auto is a necessity. My left left felt like it was broken after working the clutch there all day. Actually the join the BMWCC and come to our driver training it a very sound bit of advice too. Don't worry about the power of your car, it's about having fun and learning how to drive.

They also need to have their Hi-Vis vest, to have "blue lighted" you and give at least a whoop on the siren. If they ask "Do you know why I pulled you over?", Say "If you don't know then I'm out of here" and drive off. Again, they do a valuable job, I'm not anti-police, just the ticket quota. Take the unsafe vehicles off the road, there are sh*t loads of those on the road in Auckland.

Thanks again guys. Kyle promises me that he launched the way I told him. 2800rpm and kick your foot off it. They only did 2 runs. I think with the new tyres I might be able to launch at 3000rpm. I'll find out when Nath brings his baby down. I was hoping the 80-120 time would be better. But I'm picking that they had to change into 3rd at the last minute. RR Phantom 4.30 sec Lambo Diablo 4.40 sec Audi A8 4.50 sec Lexus LS430 4.22 sec

I'd say that for a car of it's age, yours is light. Mine is 1680kg and is RWD. Yes, I thought the same Brent, to get a 0-100 time like that, they must have launched it off the rev limiter!

K&N filter and chop the cat out. My next 2 mods.

Very nice! :thumb: That 2nd shot looks like Queenstown. Great looking car, Welcome.

No a Lamborghini is a tractor! And that is Ferruccio Lamborghini in the photo.

Ah, yes, but my rotors are 302mm Front and 300mm Rear. Imagine if I had the big brake package.

False. I do however have an operating manual for the laser gun. Was it raining at all? We kept sending letters to the cops, ask for the calibration of the unit (as suggested). The most useful thing you can do is keep the bastards tied up communicationg with you. Then take it to court, plead guilty on the day. Pay the fine plus court costs. You will have achieved getting the cop who ticketed you off the road for the day of the court appearance, plus he will have had to waste his time checking his paperwork is correct. The more people that do this, it will make in uneconomical for the Police to continue using speeding as a revenue stream. NOTE: I am not condoning speeding or stupid driving, the police should pull you over if you drive like a Jesse. I followed a loaded logging truck doing 90kph in the fast lane today on the Southern Mwy, he deserved a ticket. Drove in that lane for 7km when the lane next to him was clear. :rambo:

Pretty standard brake package really. 540 calipers (whatever was fitted new), Mintex 1166 pads. BMW front rotors, Brembo slotted rear rotors. Standard brake lines too. I would put more of it down to decent tyres. They make all the difference. They have just found the 1st car to go under 30m, suprisingly (for me anyway), it's a Chrysler Crossfire. Tested today. I'm pretty happy for a 10 year old car that weighs 1680kg (spec). For comparison Porsche 911 Turbo 34.50m Ferrari 360 F1 34.51m V10 M5 34.45m M3 CSL 32.55m Audi RS6 Avant 35.52m Lotus Exige 33.60m (something half the weight) HSV Clubsport R8 35.22m :rambo: those new cars.

OK, NZ Autocar have given my car back in one piece! It will be in next months issue as a Second Gear article. Out in 2 weeks, I'm told. It was strapped into their VBox. Figures recorded: 0-100 6.9 sec 80-120 4.8 sec 100-0 30.8m :bounce: (4 fastest stoppie they have ever tested!) and I think the fastest saloon That's all I know for now.

Here is mine. Best place for it. I'm more concerned about saving myself than the car. If I am conscious, I should be able to set it off.

I use an open face for saloon racing and a full face on a bike. (having said that, I have neither currently) What ever you do, don't get a cheap one. Buy a good quality helmet and get a good deal on it. It may save your life. Try them on and get one that fits!!! Don't buy a brand, i.e a Shoei may not fit you (they do me), but I couldn't find an Arai that did. They also have varying life expectancy. A fibreglass helmet will be cheapest, but will have a life of about 1.5 years. A Polycarbonate helmet costs more and will be around 2-2.5 years and a Kevlar-polycarb will be the best and last 3+ years. Note also, that whichever one you settle upon. If you drop it, you should replace it. If it has a scrape or other marks, it may not be capable of doing its job anymore. So any deals on a sale will be greatfully received.

OK, Kallas. I have been told that he got his bits from SD European. But it was not a straight swap, new brake ducts, mounts etc. So it would cost a significant amount more. He does however have his old E36 spoiler (in mint condition, Hell Red) that he will part with for about $250 he tells me.

It is a great car. I don't know if I'd get rid of our car for it. But it is a great car. Well worth the money. It's a classic. DNZ, show up at Puke on the 14th. There will be some great cars there. Must sign up and test out my new tires properly. :bounce:

Nice, another sleeper. Light weight for a 4WD too. I'd keep it and look after it. Great fun to scare the Holden and Ford boys in on the run from up North to Auckland. :thumb:
