  1. I'm going to guess it was as he passed over a man hole cover. That would be tall enough to rip it off Well, now it is off, try to get a M\\\ spoiler for the car. Not a lot more money and a much better looking front.

    my e36

Those are some big wheels and bugger all clearance at the back. I hope it stills drives well, go for a front spoiler too.
  3. Nice specs Nath. Want a drag? Bring it to a Nightspeed Dragwars, I'll give you race. They are like rocking horse sh*t aren't they? Post some pics of it. No, didn't try ebay. On the whole BMW are good on getting parts. It's just that you have to wait for them. If they order me the wrong one (like this time, again). I can rock down to BMWHO and give them a tune up about crappy service. I then get a good response.
  4. :bounce: I have picked up my new gear-knob. It's all that and fries. Took it to NZ Autocar and fitted it. So one less thing that will look worn for the photoshoot. What's it worth, well you'd need to have a great 325 Motorsport and a substantial amount of cash to make me part with it. That's not a no however. Gus, you can get your hands on my knob now. You know you want to.
  5. Same here Martyyn. It hurts when you cough up over $100 per tank. I'm getting about 9.4-9.6l/100 on the open road. Normally 12.5-13.4 around town.
  6. I was wrong. Note, it is an amp for a 730. It was $750 USD for the amp + $130 NZD GST and duty.
  7. Moving up to an M\\\ car won't make parts cheaper. A normal 6 speed leather gear knob $125, an M\\\ 6 speed leather illuminating gear knob $255. On my way to get it now. Plus the 10 days waiting for stuff to come from Germany each time.
  8. If it is the amp, get a quote to replace it from BMW and look at a quality Audio installer too and get them to have the system work using another amp too. It may be cheaper to have a new install of something else. I know Milan has just imported one from the states. I think it was less than a $1000. Will confirm.
  9. Have you also looked into the impact of tyre cost. I can tell you (as I was misquoted), that a set of 235/45/18 were going to cost $2800 fitted. The correct size, 235/45/17 only cost $1800. What do you reckon a set of 19" will cost. Then took it for a warrant and the clowns did look into the rubbing under the guards. It was close and these are the correct wheels and tyres.

    Oem baby

I'm with Gus. It already has an M3 front. Finish it off with the rear spoiler and boot spoiler. Will look hot on a black beast. Pirelli P7000 are a good tire, not up to much on the track though. Like the wheels.
  11. That's covers it really. Have a great day! Don't work too hard.
  12. Thanks Paul. McMillans promise that they have ordered the correct part this time and BMWHO will have it on Tuesday, so I will have it by Friday. Believe it when I see it. Would have been nice to have for the photoshoot.
  13. Agreed on the glovebox Paul. I did set Gus to seeing what he could do, however he wasn't feeling himself (for a change) and couldn't get his fingers to work. And you can see why I want the new gear knob too. Just worn. It would be nice to have had it in. Hopefully, you'll see it in NZ Autocar soon. That's what all Andrew's hard work is really about. Thanks heaps for this afternoon Andrew & Gus. :thumb: I owe you big time. Thank you to Brent also for hopefully supplying a part to diagnose another intermittent alarm. RJ, On the tyre front, I honestly couldn't tell you. They were fitted on Friday, driven home in the rain, but they might now be scrubbed in. In the dry, awesome. In my experience (as we had the A008R's on the Abarth's and Alfa's), they are great until you hit standing water. Hence the lack of grooves and the race compound rubber. m325i, specs, well keep an eye out. But 212kW and 400Nm (factory spec). Dyno'd at 164kW & 440Nm (@wheels, rolling road). 14.75 sec quarter is the fastest I've run so far. These tyres should help though.
  14. Tough choice. I think Gus's black could be cool. Try photoshopping it. (don't ask me, I'm computer illiterate).
  15. Just got a set of Yoko A048R's fitted today. :bounce: Hopefully Andy or Gus will have a digital camera and we'll post some pics after our session on Sunday.
  16. Don't worry Marcel, he did have a few Heineken's. He sounded like sh*t this morning when I called him.
  17. Gut the arse out of it and turn it into a Targa car.
  18. No, Cilkwurm. Just like Gus and his girls. Reefer Bar in St Heliers, not Mission Bay. Good to see you Gus, thanks to Pam for the lift home too. Hope the rest of your night was great. was nice.
  19. Happy Birthday Gus. Would you like me to arrange an old woman for you? No, you should be able to get one yourself, now that you're an adult. Why don't you come to the Reefer Bar in St Heliers tonight and I'll shout you a few beers.
  20. I will probably be down there that week-end, however, I wasn't planning to take the 540 as I'm working and have a week before and after of driving it. Maybe I will.. See if the boss will cover the petrol. It could do with a decent run. David, Peter & Gerry are planning to be there also, I believe.
  21. It looks OK to me. I wouldn't want to drive it. Fix the bonnet fit and get the foglights back in there and it will be heaps nicer.
  22. Easiest way to keep the wheels cleaner is to change the BMW (Pagid) pads and fit Mintex 1166. Halves the dust generated and gives better performance. We'll have to try and arrange a meeting at Manfield sometime, see how many cars we can get there. Double up with an Intermarque. :bounce:
  23. Very nice! :thumb: Great condition too. You'll have to bring it up here and show the E30 boys how to drive.
  24. Nice car. I bet those wheels are a bitch to keep clean though. Welcome.
