    My 335i

Brilliant Tim. You shouldn't get in the photos though! Don't debadge, that's pure Porn. It's a family wagon (4 door). Love it. Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday morning. Make cool drift car!
  2. Seems fair to me, a better intake, chip, exhaust mods and a good state of tune. It's 0.55 seconds slower than the 540 over a 1/4 @ 15.3 Andrew's car is nearly as quick as mine in the drag we had the other day (he was in 1st and I was in 2nd). I reckon I can get another tenth or two with the race tyres. Maybe you need to use more of the right pedal Gus!
  3. Pretty good 1/4 mile time. I can't remember who has the fastest E30 up here. I know Andrew has the slowest. 20 something seconds I recall. Aren't you meant to port the head?
  4. Bad Luck. At least they didn't damage the car for you.

    Milans 7

Yes, I am. Effectively, I bought the car for Deb. DCH540 (well that was the excuse). Don't worry Milan, Deb is buying stuff from the UK to even it up a bit. The next step is cheap you tell me, so I shouldn't get told off and she wants it to sound like a V8 too.
  6. Very nice. Make sure you take it to the next BMWCC drivers day at Hoonapuna!

    Bad Fuel

It comes back to your knock sensors in the engine. The older the engine, the more manual the systems. No point in running an old car tuned for 91 on 96. You'll just pour that money out the exhaust pipe. But if you plan to run it solely on 96 or 98, then tune it for those. i.e. My old Torana. In the newer cars, I would expect a performance increase. My Blown Commodore pulled like a schoolboy on Shell Optimax (98) and it felt like the supercharger had been ripped off, when I was in the Outback and had to go to 91 (regular). I only fill the beast with 96 or 98, so you won't notice a change between these to, in my experience. Dyno it is the only way to tell.

Milan is now advising me on changes to my exhaust. :bounce: Don't tell the boss though.
  9. A K&N filter sounds like a better option then. Then free up the exhaust.
  10. Not an E36 expert. If you have the M52 motor, fit the M50 inlet manifold to it. It breathes better.
  11. I'd better go and check if our car is still in the garage. Didn't know you wanted a V8 Tim.
  12. A lot to do with your autobox. My Falcon is the same, nothing until it hits 60kph. Shortening the diff ratio will get you off the mark quicker, but it will also effect your top end and fuel consumption. Getting of the mark quicker.. Have your foot on the brake and spool up the torque converter and you will get off the line. As it relies on the centrifugal force to work. Modify the stall converter (if poss on a BMW), but this will make it lurch off the line.
  13. Tim, do you need a lift back to Palmy? I was going to go down on Sunday morning from here for the Intermarque. No reason, I couldn't come via the Mount, I'd just stay there on Saturday night. Let me know if you need a hand.
  14. Jock sold his one. They are fairly rare. Ray Meadow's E28 M5 is currently for sale. I think Jock's was 1 of 4 NZ new ones. I don't know if that was just the year or all E34 M5's.

You didn't let Gus in the back did you? Looking forward to seeing it at the Dyno day Milan. Should be able to knock off the 56kW the wild E30 had. It's a great car.
  16. Bummer Tim I can't think of why your insurance wouldn't pay out. It seems to be a reasonable claim. Good luck. I'll shout you a beer next week.
  17. http://www.nzherald.co.nz/index.cfm?c_id=1&ObjectID=10336671 Pic on the right, definitely looks like Mr Potato Head, however, at the bottom of the article, it states the 2 sporting celeb's have not appeared in court. So they would be complete dicks to show up and watch.
  18. BITCHN is right. Looks good. It also looks Blue to me.

    Nos

Please chuck Nos into it. I've love to fit it to the 540! David's 325 was under 100kW at the rear wheels, and mine is about 160kW. So if you're getting that out of yours. Don't mess with it.
  20. My gearbox would be fine. But you can't have it. I'm sure Brent will let you know if he finds one. Would be loads of fun. Fit a slippery diff and enter it into the drift comp!
  21. Cain's Rangi suggestion, do it in Metal and lag it with exhaust wrap tape.
  22. Call Prestige Automotive if you want an entire system. Peter Van Breugel, he is also the importer of Powerchips in NZ. Knows a thing or two about cars.
