  1. If you mount it on your original seat runners. I believe the answer is no. I'll see if I can find out.

On my list of top 10 cars ever. It looks like Raj's old car. Technology & style in one package. Primo. Right up there with the Britten for a piece of design brilliance.
  3. In theory mine is the standard 212kW, so we've dyno'd it twice, 164kW & 155kW and 440Nm, (different dynos) so you should get a reading of 170-185 at the wheels I would guess (using similar loss). Does your car have cats? I assume it is an NZ new one. It's time to get the E34's down at the drag strip and show the lads in their E30's that you can't beat cubes for torque.
  4. I'll look forward to meeting you. I had a quick squiz under your bonnet with Paul at Taupo. We were actually comparing headers between your car and mine. What kind of l/100km are you getting with the auto? I managed to average 10.0l/100km from Taupo to Mt Maunganui the other day. Covered it in 1 hour 29 minutes. 6 gear most of the way and sitting on 110kph (unless passing). I only use 98 anyway, so the Powerchip is no problem. I just didn't want to spend a grand and find it didn't really deliver the claimed HP. Cilk Wurm, why would I want to open your flight-recorder?
  5. Great car. Nice to see another E34. Grant, it was at the BMWCC Taupo day. Parked down the far end by the Countess. Looking forward to lining up against you in a competitive event sometime. :thumb: Did you put the Powerchip in? If so, did it make a lot of difference. They say 10% increase roughly. Have you dyno'd it? Cheers
  6. Do you need a shot of penicillin to get rid of it God? Will you have it in the car for the Jag Drag day? Looking forward to seeing you and Gus lining up.
  7. There is a Fern Green M3 at Coombes Johnson in Tauranga that is in very good condition. All the options, only thing not on it is the rear spoiler and it was delivered like that.

Andrew, tell me when you get back and where to drop the video off. Then you can add the footage of the Testarossa being used as an arc-welder in the original Targa NZ.
  9. You're not wrong Martyn. According to McMillans, to replace the cat in the 540, $3,500 each. Andrew, you're right. LSD that's the best option.
  10. Nice Car Emma. Which one was a photo of your ass? Gus will show you his... Oh that's right, he already has. That has to be the most over-tyred BMW, I've ever seen. No need for traction control with such big tyres.
  11. Come on Gus. Give us the list of TLA's (three letter abbreviations) that your car has.... A/C, ABS, P/W, P/S, EDC, ASC+T, C/C & PDC (not on mine).
  12. Happy B'day Dave Andrew, who is Sasha and what are you doing with her cake?
  13. Are you a member of the BMWCC Martyn? I save my membership money every time I have to buy a part. Wait until you have to replace the EDC sensors, 5 of them @ $700 each. That's the down side to having all the luxury in our cars. Make you envious of an E30 when you get the bill.
  14. Nice looking car! They are definitely not M5 wheels. Genuuine M 3 or 5 wheels are at least $2k per wheel. Is it manual? If they are 17"x8" wheels. Brent will suggest 235 fronts and 255 rears. Says it handles heaps better. I might try it on my next lot of tires. Take it up to Ruapuna for the next driver day they have there and stretch it's legs.
  15. Breakfast tomorrow morning then? I'll call you later. Tim, are you on for it? I might be able to shout you all breakfast.
  16. OK, Here's my 2c. These days are very difficult to organise. As Paul pointed out, an incident will make future days more difficult to do. Unfortunately, we use Taupo as it is cost effective. But it is too small and too narrow for real speed work. Also with the large numbers of car which turned out (I think the biggest I have seen besides the BMW Extravaganza) makes the waiting time longer. They need to keep the number of laps to a sensible level too, as the cars have road braking systems and will not really do more than 6 HARD laps. Grant, I forgot to mention this in our discussion on the M3. If you drive an M3 as hard as your E30, you will be equally frustrated with it. It will be faster, but driving it to the limit will still roast your brakes. Our Ferraris in standard brake trim did the same thing. They are only road cars. So if you really want to race, you need to get a car suitable. I do enjoy the ability to flog my car in a safer/legal environment, but Taupo is built for the big cars. I can do the same terminal velocity at Meremere in 400m. So it's not a fast circuit. Pukekohe is but insanely expensive. Manfield is a great circuit and like Puke is big enough to do various exercises at the same time. Roll on Hampton downs :bounce: You can learn car control at low speeds doing Grasskhanas, which will generally be less damaging to you car (unless you back into a tree!) Again, we don't have enough opportunity for these in Auckland either. The Auckland CC ones are run well. I might join next year.
  17. You're a star Gus! Wish I had an LSD. I've got a set of tires which need vapourising. Tim, are you in Tauranga this week? I should be staying around Te Puke, Tuesday and Wednesday. Cheers.
  18. Front Suspension I have Hi-res images of all of these. So if you want any, you know where to find me.
  19. Front Wheel. 19" fronts, 20" rears.
  20. Don't ever buy a 2nd hand helmet (well, not if you want it to do it's job). Basically any new helmet is fine. Unless you are going to a real race, then they won't scrutineer the numbers in your helmet and will generally give it a visual inspection. Open or full face helmets are OK. I've always bought full face, as I ride bikes too and I don't like eating bugs. In a proper race car, an open face is better, in a road car, I still prefer the full face (to keep the few goods looks I have left). Once they are dropped, they should be replaced. If you don't wear it often, don't get a top of the line Shoei or the like, it is just money you don't need to spend. N.B. they will however do a better job of keeping your head in one piece when needed. Find one that fits, don't buy the brand. I couldn't find an Arai to fit me last time. You get what you pay for. Have fun shopping.
  21. I've got another 7 shots to post. Hopefully tomorrow. Gus, you'd kill yourself in it. Don't ask Tim for any pointers on how to slide a car! Hope to see you guys on Saturday for a short time.
