Divide it by .7457 So 329.9Hp at the wheels. Who uses horsepower these days? It a bit like giving your weight in stone.

Found this while looking on the BMW car club QLD website. ZM77BM.pdf

Then 130i should be a ball tearer. I don't think I could justify spending the extra money over a Supercharged Mini convertible though. 120d is the best bang for buck. Don't like the sag in the middle of the car either (side view).

Ok, here are the pics in no particular order. It will be on show until the end of today.

OK, for those of you who are in Auckland and aren't coming to the launch on Thursday night. The beast is parked at the Sky City Convention Centre (in the lobby). Go up to the top of the escalators, head toward Blend (coffee shop) and cross the sky bridge. You should see it there. It will be there until Thursday sometime, as they need to move it for the launch. Have fun.

Here's one taken from the website. I'll be going to have a look at the car again tomorrow night. I'll try to get my hands on a digital camera.

Good to see it's not just the Asian's in Auckland buying their licences Tim! You are lucky if you didn't get a careless use charge for that effort. Glad to hear you are OK. Better go home for a
-
Yes. But you'll have to watch the launch tonight. I'll get some from the Auckland session. See you there then Ollie.
-
OK. I've just seen the completed Hulme. It looks HOT. There is meant to be a clip on the Wellington launch tomorrow night 7pm on One. There may even be a V10 option in the future. :bounce:

I generally have 1 ticket on my licence at all times. As I don't concentrate as hard on cops hiding in the bushes when I don't have to worry about losing my licence. But I also drive more sensibly in my old age.
-
Good story that. I'll watch tomorrow for the next installment. Maybe that's why the dude backed into the tree on Sunday! It isn't good for those who actually got their licences legitimately though. How much did you pay for yours Gus?
-
In theory, the story goes. That you over pay your fine and they cannot close your infringement off (i.e. allocate demerits) until it has been settled. They would then be required to send you a payment to reconcile. If you don't bank the cheque. They stil can't close it. I have no idea if it actually works however.

I assume you are changing the Rotors because yours are worn. Otherwise, I'd invest in decent pads and braided lines. I've put Brembo's in the rear of the 540iS. Haven't noticed a load of difference, the Mintex 1166's are brilliant though.

Again, I'll point out that most Jap cars are geared to be Quick. Not Fast. They don't continue to accelerate like a European car will (assuming it has horsepower). Look at the linearity of the acceleration figures. So, no a standard STi wouldn't beat me to a kilometre, nor would it beat me in a race across Germany. Don't get me wrong, I think the engineering that goes into the Jap cars in phenomenal and I love driving them. But they aren't designed to be a complete car.

I hate to point out that anyone can make a car go fast for 400m. A more true reflection of how good a car is in a straight line, is if you take that in conjunction with the Standing km time. i.e in theory, mine will do 14.3 for 400m and 24.7 to 1km. Try that in an STi. Oh, and the E30 M3 handles and pulls like a schoolboy. What more could you want?

That's the best one around. No, I'm sure the tourings are used for delivering food for his catering company. So practical and fun. I'd have that beast.

They have had the show car together a number of times already. They are just tidying it up to display. They seem happy on the money front at the moment. So who wants to be my date to the launch? Don't worry, that spot has probably already gone. They aren't that exciting anyway. The one for the Gallardo was Ok though.
-
OK, I went. Yes, the Hulme is being launched in Wellington on the 23rd and Auckland on the 31st. It is a show car only. The paint is very nice (Evan's P&P). They are tidying it up now. I'll go and drop by on Thursday to have another squizz to see how they are getting on.

News to me that it's being shown. It isn't a working car to my knowledge. The motor and chassis were still in the workshop a while ago and no-one working on it in the interim. Might stop by this afternoon and have a look.
