  1. She's still alive. And well. We have regular arguments. Some days she won't rev over 2k and will flash those lovely EML and ASC lights at me in protest. Turn off, turn on, happy as larry. Must invest in cause.. Due for a service soon. Oh and she's hitting 270ks soon! Another big birthday. Sigh writing removed. New angel eyes installed. Oh and to top it off, I had a lovely Chinese student in his brand new TT with no insurance run me off the road, more damage! Just can't claim as need bloody car.. No courtesy car = stuffed. Spot the schnitzer.

Yeah thought about that: But then what's the point of trying to find a wreck with all options, paying extra for them, fitting them, and it still not being exactly 100% like factory HK is great, love it. Want that factory spec again without the fiddly bits. Only thing is probably wheels - which I'm not fussed about. But hey, if I can find a perfect car for say 28k vs paying 26k + 3-6k on getting it to the one I want; all the better! My M3 is resting up until someone decides to do something.. Part it, sell it, store it, fix it etc etc
  3. You know... I know of a spare engine lying around that *was* bat sh*t quick from factory...
  4. Thank you Tom, As per usual you are the legend behind the knowledge of these cars. I'll get one eventually... Just you wait
  5. Yes I hear a lot about these ones being scattered around the country - but cars do change hands, so I am under a slight belief that a car we may think is two different vehicles is actually one that has changed location/hands/driven around the country. I had the pleasure of seeing Tom's and Roberts at the last big ECC meet, and then the one which popped up on BS for sale not too long ago, so I know for sure there are 3 out.. it's just finding the others I believed 9ish were written off?
  6. Of the few that were sold NZ new, and imported, can anyone confirm the number in NZ? I know of 3: - Tom's CSL - Roberts CSL - Tauranga CSL. Any others lurking about that someone might know. Were there only 12ish that came into the country (imported and NZ new?) Could someone confirm these numbers/facts?
  7. Given he purchased said vehicle 2 years ago..

This is destined to be a long term project.. So I'll start keeping my eye out now regardless, and if anyone hears of anything, hopefully they have this post in mind. I'm going to be fussy. I know what I want. And Ideally I would like to find that 'perfect' M3 for me - or one very much close. I have ALL the time in the world, and I'm not in a rush. Price would ideally be within $30,000. The tick list: - SMG Gearbox - Under 120,000KMS - Full Leather Interior - Ideally NZ New - Harmon Kardon - Heated Seats - Side Bolsters - Memory Seating - Black/Red Interior - Rain Sensing Wipers - 19" Wheels Completely stock - unhacked springs/suspension/intakes/tunes etc Colours: Any, par Titanium Silver, Pheonix Yellow. No Kiwi Green Interior. The things I can let slide.. - Sunroof (ideally no, but will say yes) - Business Unit ideally Widescreen, but can modify myself. - Ideally Facelift - but I don't care if it's 02 if it's the one. And hopefully the engine ticks over as smooth as anything, the subframe is pristine and my diff is good as gold. I had all these options and more in my Carbon M3, and people question me and go "but why want them", well because why would I settle for anything less than what I had.. I'm not in a rush. I have my trusty Schnitzer steed to tie me over

    'THE' M3...

This thread is on fire. Mean. Will take her insurance to town to help cover my bill if it comes to that. My insurance aren't the most helpful. "So by insuring my car at an under market value through you guys, I'm therefor disadvantaged even more than if I didn't have insurance?" Them: "well we can't answer that"

    'THE' M3...

No they will offer much less. Take off excess which I'll only get back if her insurance pays and the years premium that isn't covered. Maybe walk away with 18.5k? Valued at 25k by the dealer. Kicking myself more times than ever. Fix car. Reinsure for 30k. Sounds good?

    'THE' M3...

I guess you failed to see my tantrum as to why that wouldn't work. Car was under insured for 20k.. Now do the math and start pulling your hair out like I have

    'THE' M3...

Chassis is pretty sweet. Front and rear rails are good. It's just that boot floor got a bit of a ding in it... But no creases etc, my front guards are mint. Nose is a bit uptight but hey that's just a new bonnet and headlights.. Radiator.. A new boot (which I needed colour matched anyway) To be fair the car is pretty straight, par a few points and the price comes from the paint job.. Wanted a new paint job! Optimism right? :/

If written off it will parted out. I'd love my M3 back. I've seen the level of work the guys I'm using have done and the cars come out straighter than factory. Right now it's a matter of just working out how to tell them 'repair it' and I'll cover the owing bill, and work hand in hand to get the parts from external sources that aren't BMW NZ

    'THE' M3...

Bit of a special quote - It will be a lot more if I go elsewhere. I guess all I can do now, is tell the insurance company to repair it with their 15k.. and Ill try and make up the potential difference, or source parts myself to therefore make it cheaper - a lengthy process sure, but I'm trying all avenues to get that car back in my drive again. It's just a matter of the insurance company dealing with it that way..

    'THE' M3...

Car is Valued at at least 22k. I'm the idiot who insured it for less. Yes I can buy it back. But even then, still not enough funds to a) put it back on the road b.)buy another one C) engine swap to something else: So f**k the world. My time as an M3 is owner is gone for a long while.

    'THE' M3...

I'm the only stupid one in this situation. I insured my car well under its value and now it's cost me. Repairs came to a total quote of 18k. Insurance will only pay to 15k. Car was insured for 20k (how bloody stupid of me) They have said they will write it off... Unless anyone has bright ideas, please let me know, because this sh*t sucks to the point I'm more than pissed off.

    'THE' M3...

Big Fat sh*t Update. Got a friend to ring insurance company as I can't atm. And here's what they have to say: The car is still at the towing yard. They aren't moving it unless it can be repaired. The Panelbeater is coming back with a quote at some point today. The vehicle hasn't been listed on the Parts network because the Panelbeater hasn't come back with a 'yes it can be fixed, no it can't be' verdict. Insurance from Lady behind me is useless - My insurance are only paying out to the amount I'm insured for, even if she did hit me. I'm the one who has to go on a man hunt to get insurance to pay out to me. f**king blood is boiling, I think I'm hitting the boxing bag at gym tonight! Useless bastards.

    Well. Interesting read. Thanks? Haha

    'THE' M3...

Yeah well I've never been down this before. Apparently assessor went there and saw it. They have then sent a panelbeater from my selected repairer up to see it - with the car still in the yard. Someone enlighten me because I don't know what the f**k is going on.

    'THE' M3...

It was 7pm - it had no where else to go. It was the only car locked away in a shed (all the others were left outside to be pissed on by the rain) and they kept that she'd locked. It was amusing going back the next day and this little black M3 in this huge empty shed.. So they sorted it. Unfortunately the guys didn't know how to put it into Neutral when shifting it, so moved it in first until I sort of screamed at them (sorry guys) and have made note of that to insurance in case of damage. The car has been locked in the shed ever since, but yeah I can't help what insurance do with it when they tell they have moved it and then don't. A bit late now guys, but thanks for the advice.. Let's hope she's moved to Panel Beaters in one piece :/

    'THE' M3...

Yes full. Mm. I'd say they want their money back, so will go in and bat?

    'THE' M3...

Hold up. If she hit me.. Shouldn't the cost not matter? Since her insurance will be paying for it, not mine on an agreed value? My insured amount with my insurance company shouldn't mean anything if her insurance are footing the bill
