WOW. Do it.
-
^ Yeah I know I know, car isn't going at the moment so I had to risk, won't cost very much to fix it anyway, just a pain in the bum more than anything.
-
^ Because when I was searching for the color for the car, I thought it was called Smadengrun, so I took the MAD bit and made Maddie, now its called Maddie cause its gonna be a MAD sick car when it's done
-
^ Thanks Luke and everyone else. Well have just found out.....the front calipers rub, it isn't the tyre on the strut. So my fronts have a nice machined inner lip now So going to try find out how much space I need with the aid of some washers packed out on the hubs and then order some slip on spacers and longer wheel studs. Kinda pissed but could be worse. So to anyone buying these, be aware the fronts will need spacing! I don't know if it is because the 325i's have bigger calipers or whatever, if my car had been running, I could've got this checked at the tyre shop rah rah flame me. Pics to come when it looks cooler and they fit properly

At this stage I will get a new wheel alignment, then maybe try some little 5mm slip on spacers (I think these are legal)

Driveshaft Hanger Bush and Bearing need replacing, I have one I can sell to you, was only in my car three weeks before writing it off. Can send you some pics if your keen, brought it off out forum sponsor Gavin at Euro Italian

I will take some pics on the flat with the springs compressed from driving around to get a true picture of how they sit soon, for the moment it is just sorting the rubbage.
-
^ It should drop some more once I have driven it when the springs compress a little more after being up on the jacks, I am stoked as with how they look, I just hope the tyre rubbing can be fixed
-
Well, having just rolled it back into the garage I can feel something rubbing ^ So JiB, I hope it's not the caliper, it was more a tyre rubbing sound on the strut so when I get it realigned to something better than -3deg hopefully that will fix it. I wish I could afford tech1, but I need to stop spending money on cars and start enjoying them so clears will have to do for the moment.
-
Pft. Impatient as haha. New wheels will look pimp, do like.
-
^ Edited, photobucket hates me today Not convinced about my holesawing skills with that front lip either :s Might have to throw the OEM one back on. Think the thing it really needs is clear indicators...orange isn't loving me right now.

Here we go, some quick snaps, ignore the to-do list on the windscreen wheels need some hubcentric rings, so when I get my suspension all done I will be going back for those and a wheel alignment (sadly will put the black bikkies back on later till the suspension is done car is still on 3 deg camber, looks cool but tyres aren't cheap so it will be back to 1.5 deg on the adjustable camber plates I think. Car isn't going at the moment, so it would obviously drop it down a lot more than the photos show if I had driven it around the block, but that's with 60mm drop springs on shortened Bilsteins looks like with 205/55's with a teeny bit of stretch. Car will soon have Race Series Koni's with Eibach 60mm springs in once I have sold the Bilsteins, so the drop shouldn't change I wouldn't think. Happy with how it looks, just needs clear indicators, redded tails, tech1 wing to be colorcoded and colorcoded mirrors and some eyebrows and I think we will be done Also trainspotters will notice one wheel is on the wrong side, I just threw them on so don't flame me Enjoy

The long awaited pictures of the new Borbet's on a E30 are nearly here. Massive thanks to Jono (Zenetti) and Mag and Tyre Direct Petone for sorting me out a sharp price and fitting. Wheels are Borbet Type A Replica's (15 x 8 ET15) wrapped in Nexen N2000's (205/55/15). Small teaser just for kicks About to go pop them on the car, more pictures to come. - Nathan

Wide body race car with a m20 2.8 with individual throttle bodies?????
-
That bike is sex jealous as. To the guy selling the m3, a little lower and I should be able to convince my dad to buy it

Have you checked the ground wire for the instrument cluster? I can' t remember where it is, I had similar troubles with the backlight of my cluster. Also fuses? Obviously you have. The nuts on the back of the gauges where it tightens to the back of the cluster tight?

Thanks a lot Melowpuf, rocker cover gasket looks is great condition, going to repaint the cover anyway looks like balls so I will recheck it tonight. Mark it slowly creeps up when warm to just over 500rpm

So have had the m20b25 about a month, and have noticed the idle getting progressively worse and more rotaryesque as I have had it. In the weekend I took the valve cover off to paint it, and after replacing it this morning it is a lot worse. The motor has a pod filter which didn't make any difference to the idle when I fitted it. There are a few things I can think of to fix it and answer my own question, but other advice or pointers is entirely welcome. So my car is the early Motronic 1.1 (if that makes any difference). At idle it's only idling at just under 500rpm (is this normal) but the rev counter is jumping up and down more than I had noticed before. From my previous e30 my problem spells out vacume leak, but I am not so sure, 6 cylinders are scary. My thoughts: - Intake boot is starting to crack but hasn't split. - The valve cover may have got some paint inside it (when I painted it this weekend) where the top hose under the throttle body goes. - I need better hoses for my pod filter to AFM. - I don't think the idle control valve/screw has been touched (definitley not by me but maybe previous owners. - Something else? (Insert knowledgable mechanical opinion here) Since I am a bit of a noob at m20's, my mates 320i has the same problem so some help is doubly appreciated. I have only had the car less than a month so please bear with me. Probably should have searched but the forum is quiet this morning so give someone some work to do - Nathan

^ Luke sorted me out, thanks guys
-
It is about as cool as a e36 m3 do want.
-
My mate should be around today, he lives around the corner from me in Tawa. Will get hold of him this morning

I saw a rare non injected carbed e30 316 at pick a part down here a month ago, wouldve been pimp to throw those on that

Has anyone had any experience with any DIY or off the shelf products, my e30 needs some love in that department, mainly some slight stains. Cheers, Nathan
