  1. Don't part it out. Bimmersport is pretty average for trying to sell things. There are probably only 40-50 regular members on here. Throw it on trade me.

^ Don't fret no more wheels for me, just GFB's. So Andrew you going to spill what wheels are going on this now then?
  4. ^ How hard/expensive are those front diff units to replace haha? My mate has a 525ix touring (one of the ones on trade me a while ago) and it suffers from the same knock knock problem. He is having a hassle trying to find shocks also, I think everything is specific to the iX's?

    Man you have great timing...lol
  6. You need a boss kit to make it fit. IMO when I had mine with a dished wheel it gave it far too much angle towards the roof and was uncomfortable to use, needed the steering column dropped to make it better (I ended up not bothering and brought a different wheel). Here is a pic for reference:
  7. ^ I saw him Friday when I was out driving too, Paul 'heard' me before he saw me...lol
  8. Not mine, but: http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....showtopic=28960
  9. ^ It will be up around your ways sometime soon
  10. ^ Haha okay, thanks. And big thanks for your help this week much appreciated.
  11. Anyone know? 50mm x 50mm x 3ishmm, probably need a metre or two. Pref. in Wellington. but if anyone knows anyone, could they sort me out Cheers, Nath
  12. ^ They aren't leather, they are cloth
  13. Is it sacrilege to put car seat covers on E30 motorsport seats? Ha.
  14. Well it is fixed. Sitting at 600rpm (warm) it is far smoother than it was, fixed a massive airleak on the FPR -> Intake Mani in the process, no more hunting or sounding like a rotary. Stoked. Time to do a skid.
  15. ^ Don't bother throwing money at it until you get it diagnosed, spend the money once, not twice. I don't know how many times Glenn says that on here. Good luck.
  16. So took my TPS off, it was full of oil the motor is so tired and worn, there is oil residue all through the throttle body, but I just need it to last another 6 - 10 months and then I can worry about a conversion. So have soaked the TPS in petrol, electrical cleaner and a air compressor, cleaned the AFM track with electrical cleaner and a air compressor. Checked for leaks around the FPR and resealed hoses etc. Now to just re-install and see if I have fixed it after re-adjusting the TPS in accordance with the throttle stay. Hope this works

    So hot Andrew, good stuff.
  18. Cheers Nath and Andrew. I will try adjusting the TPS and go from there. I did have vacume leak once on that hose from the FPR to the intake manifold, I replaced it but maybe it needs to be sealed with silocone sealant. In thinking about the ECU, I wonder if the electrical fire, caused by ignition wires shorting out on the ECU, caused the circuitry inside to be damaged also...hmm. Will have a play and see if any progress can be made. Cheers for the help guys! Must be time for a M54, these M20's are sh*t.
  19. Bump, anyone? I unplugged the TPS and it idled better within a normal range 750rpm, does that show my TPS is buggered? Cheers
  20. ^ I have to run for 75min soon so maybe not tonight, but I am free tomorrow + tomorrow night. Will send you a text tomorrow some time. P.S it got a cert, pick plates up Wed
  21. Okay so I have driven a good 200km in the lead up to finally getting my car certed and noticed it isn't as 'fixed' as I thought it was. M20 B25 Mot. 1.1 It is initally idling at 500rpm, which for the car is too low, but it's about what it was since I have owned the car and I have had no troubles. It is now dropping, after idling normally after about 30sec down to 250rpm (ish) the whole car is shaking and then it just does that intermittently up and down between 200-600 rpm every 20-30sec. I first thought the vibration was the fact I installed urethane engine mounts but I don't think that is the case. Have also checked everything to do with: (AFM, TPS, ICV) and associated air leaks etc and there are none as previously mentioned. Did a brief search on E30 tech and E30 zone and does it look like my TPS is screwed/needs adjusting? Anyone know how to change it? Are all E30 TPS's the same because I have a spare off my old 316i I could try. Have also seen fuel pressure regulator mentioned? and also coolant temp sensor? Any other ideas. Any help on any of the above would be appreciated. It drives fine through the rev range just when idling it is really uncomfortable, especially in traffic. Also fuel consumption seems fine according to OBC at around 9.8l per 100k if that makes any diff. Cheers, Nath
