pull out your bulb and go to nearly any auto electrician,or look in the manual they will tell you what bulbs.I would expect an e36 to have h1 or h4 bulbs.E 34s are easy they use h1 in every lamp, low, high ,and fog.....I would also be wary about about using 100 watt bulbs, they MAY melt wiring if not the plastic? reflectors!
  3. mostly down to the driver, even with identical cars you may have found the same difference ie 12 vs 9.Not many people claim autos are more efficient!
  4. the other guy seling the "purple" one reckons they were 175,000
  5. its not an e34,well the fuse box isnt anyway!e24?
  6. going to look tomorrow, sounds a better prospect than the last one(at least for me).The m62 is quite a bit more powerful than the M60,but the 540 is quicker than my 535 and its got that feeling that the power is always there, just hope it is a bit more responsive in the brakes and steering than the other one........
  7. There are only about 250 rhd six speed manuals world wide.It is a coincidence I guess....be interesting how it stacks up against the one that just sold down here
  8. i like the second one apart from the round velrco pads on the front
  9. someones bound to ask...Auto or manual?
  10. somehwere a mad bavarian is laughing.....muhhhhhwwwwwaaaa someday vee will rule ze vorld.......
  11. Thats pretty good Cain,I guess your "round town" is not too stop start?
  12. the system is pretty logical. The left hand red blue dial is for the passengers side, the right for the drivers side, the middle one is fan speed the levers send the air whereevr. The vent to the back seat will only supply unheated or a/c cooled air,in the winter turn it off,the heat for the rear passengers comes form under the front seats.A common problem with the e34 is the valves for the heater get stuck open hence the hot air al the time, sometimes they can be freed by tapping em withte temperature set to cold and the engine running. If the problem is not tin the valves(right rear of engin bay near the firewall) it could be the brain or stuck flaper motors or broken flaps.Flush your cooling sytem and keep the coolant changes up to date.Bezzal my car does that too,all ok but hot air coming out of the little triangualr vent on the rhs dash.I find if i turn the temp up to hot and then turn it down a couple of tmes it seems to go back to cool. here is a ton of info for the e34.. http://www.bmwe34.net/ and for even more help http://www.bimmer.info/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=10
  13. OH yea....I can get under 10l 100ks on the "motorway" to Upper Hutt but if i have to stop start it absolutely kills the consumptionI think my average for that trip plus the hill at home makes my average 11.8 but i frequent ly never go over 3000 rpm during the week.I truly beleive a constant 3000 3500 rpm would yeild better consumption than 2250 2500rpm
  14. At the risk of repeating myself....Thats all that sparks is trying to say too....
  15. Yes happy bday rog....and sparks if you do organise a get together I am in.
  16. late to the party as usual, but 5 series ftw in my book......e34>e36 any day.......
  17. as mentioned above if get them sent by sea the freight is really cheap. At the time i was looking it was $130 US per cubic metre(and minimum charge.A set of four wheels would prolly be less than a M3 Then there are all the charges that Glenn alludes to.
  18. remember Neal,the 535 has a 80L fuel tank
  19. around town(its pretty easy driving) i can get 520 550 ks with about 62 litre fill up,on the open road its no sweat to get welly- tauraunga and run around for a few days...
