  1. Well i am prolly the last person on the planet still with Dial Up! I hve my phone with Telecom(and sky) My ISP is Paradise, now Telstra Clear. I want to get broadband maybe go wireless too but thats another discussion. My quandary is I dont want to change my phone number or email address. Telecom will let you have their basic broadband service for 29 95 plus $10 if you dont have your phone with them Paradise wont do the same though and wont let me have PDQ without swapping the Phone unless i o their 50 a month plan. SO can i go with Telecom for ISP with broadband BUT still have my email set up with paradise?I will go back to the $10 a month(actyally 4 weeks) just to collect my emails.Over a period of time i will migrate my emails back to telecom,or even run two seperate email accounts,is that possible?.I run Microsoft outlook.ie etc
  2. Happy Birthday to Jochen, Mr HamWallet and BMR 320!
  3. do the fumes still go back to the intake? And presumably at some time you have to empty the catch bottle?
  4. why not indeed after all we ate a group of people who happen to share a passion for BMW's
  5. fails to look more than one car ahead or immediate vicinity.I also beleive that a lack of consideration or maybe even a lack of courtesy to other drives is bad driving. It often means that you just arent aware of whats happening around you

    road trip

I am not a bay person but have had a couple of holidays up that way.If you are keen on NZ bush, make sure you take a walk to the old man of the forest,a huge kauri tree near kerikeri i think, also the kauri forests out on the west coast . When i bought my 535 i drove from Auckland,Hamilton,Tauraunga,Wellington, then picked up the family and went up to Napier and Waimarama, during which time the car was virtually dismantled, and cleaned polished to within an inch of new!Awesome way to check out your new car and make it YOURS oops repeated Cains advice
  7. When i needed the hose that runs from the thermostat to the pump on my M30 shelleys had it in stock, however i know my chassis number by heart. The tranasaction took about 3-4 minutes total,2 minutes on the phone, and i was in and out of the parts dept in about 2 minutes too, even with the car club discount, which they always have to redo, because you have to tell them BEFORE they start the invoice. You must have your chassis number tho.Think of how many versions of the ol m30 engine there have been! Any one who has worked in the retail type business knows that 'computer systems" arent always helpful! So within half an hour of me finding a split hose i had a new one on.Page european fitted it for me on the spot!

Youre a Hard Man pedals! Its really hard sorting out the chaff from the wheat when youre shopping around for this sort of stuff. I ussually end up going with the guys who seems to be genuinely interested in what he is doing, not just some guy spouting a sales routine. Give some real information here to sort out what is needed and how to get it . You obviuosly have a lot of knowledge, dont just ridicule our choices.
  10. Yours is not a //M car really Cain... When Martyn says M i think he means a M3 or M5 If a commodore VE can be a daily drive why not a $40,000 E39 M5? I am with martyn,I have got to enjoy the drive,I dont sit in traffic tho. Why arent //M cars daily drivers? I have been sorta toying with the idea of a e 36 M3,but it would be my daily,i dont have the space for three cars. Hmm another motorbike in my future?
  11. i have heard that on e 34s and e 32s that the wiring and reflectors!(which on some models are PLASTIC) can melt with the increased wattage.I would be wary with 100 w I wouldnrt even consider 150 watts!.The E34 at least has quite small diameter wiring smaller tham other cars I have had My 2c,oops 10 c worth
  12. e 34 3.8 M5 Touring or e34 540 touring manual six speed of course. An e 39 M5 would be cool but i wonder how they will fare as OLD cars There was a blue one one on trade me that I was dreaming about the other day.
  13. blasphemy in my opinion want a rota, buy a mazdza, keep it in a mazda. Drove a series 5? rx7 once very very nice, too nice, mint paint,no lining in "boot" and some overspray evident.
  14. drive one and tell us what you think of them.
  15. time for an inspection 1 or inspection 2 whatever wasnt done last time.If the inspection light comes on in conjuction with a little clock it may be indicating the annual inspection.
  16. As i now work in Petone it would be a lot easier if i have the car serviced there.i went there, not a bimmer in sight and they can do my INS II tomorrow!. Any feed back on this place? I might get into trouble,Bo or Vijay might see this post!
  17. As one the older ones I may have had the FEWEST no of cars 1st 1972 Holden Torana GTR 2nd 1986 Toyota Corona GLi 3rd 1994 Nissan Bluebird 4th 1990 BMW 535is I had 11 motorbikes though,7 brand new.
  18. there were at least 4 or 5 candidates on tradme last night, mostly in Auckland. Its not such a big Deal Emma I think the Ferries have a vehicle special til xmas of $99.I am sure some of the Auckland Gurus will ookat some cars for ya!

  20. is the coupe the same one the club saw at the AGM?
  21. i think bmw would have a std pre purchase inspection fee i would think 80 sound too cheap,i think its a 90 minute check.Shelleys did a 535 for me had a huge list and even gave me a list of parts and prices.I would get it checked again,AA would be a waste of time compared to a BMW dealer. The dealer will be very critical but thats what you want isnt it.I have wondered whay an M3 would be like as a daily driver .Any coments???
  22. what a shame...I was a real fan of his. we need 05 minutes silence....
  23. not 100 per cent but i think most of the body kit parts for the E34 have "ended" next to them in the parts list
