  1. i could be keen on one too.I have an e 34 with the original removeable sony radio cassette and in boot cd stacker which works but skips easlly.....i want to fit an ipod or similar instead of the cd stacker but the headunit is too old(i thnk)
  2. I am racking up the ks on the 535 and doing 80 ks a day i could do with something a little more economical...
  3. hmmm i spy a economical daily driver........
  4. HD12??? thats how BMWNZ refer to the 535i"s" like mine,RX sumo etc...
  5. In the normal run a e32 and e 34 wheel is interchangeable,i dont think the fronts will be a problem but the 10,s.....hmmmm .If you dont get any sensible replies follow this link,i have asked the guys on a mostly e 34 forum

tidy lookin car....could the guy parked behind you get any closer?
  7. you dont have knock sensors so going to 98 wont give any advantage. There is a school of thought tho that 98 is of more consistent quality and the marketers would have us beleive its cleaning our engines.....
  8. will cost about 60 bucks to get them to auckland, cos it cost 60 bucks to get my 17s with tyres down from auckland.... If they are a replica rim its likely that they will go straight onto an e39,cos the e34 prolly required hubcentric rings....e34 72.5mm hub,e 39 74 mm hub, most aftermarket wheels for 5 and 7 bmw seem to have 74 mm hubs.....

thats some serious bracing of the front end..... what are the two alloy pipes with the blue valve right at the front?
  12. would be a relativey easy swap,if you have all the bits to swap.... After all you are swapping something that has been done so ALL parts are available off the shelf at the dealer or a wrecker.BMW told me that hikasil was not a problem here when i was looking at a E34 540.... Where has the car come from,I know they had problems in the US and UK

    E34 Wheels

    didnt meet reserve price
  14. you would have to swap just about everything over, the v8s are a real squeeze in the e34 engine bay and therefore the braking systems are different ,even if the brakes arent. You would have to swap the whole engine loom, and computer instruments too probably... By the way you may find the E34 is not actually a downgrade at all.....

    E34 Wheels

Good luck with that.I have been on the lookout for some throwing stars for ages.Be careful with aftermarket wheels.Make sure you get some strong ones, the e 34 isnt light. Most aftermarkey wheels will require 74>72.5 hubcentric rings

  17. Some good info that guy q is a regular on my five series site.If you follow the phatbox link you end up finding some volvo ipod info...might be cheaper option than the germans....

    E34 Wheels

19 may be a little big for the e34,the latest e 34 came with 18,s there is some info at the useful E34.net I may have some less than perfect 17 x8 Et 20 74mm bore wheels for sale soon
  19. as far as the engine itself goes 200k is nothing as long the car has been looked after.Brent has a e 28 535 that has done 400,000 ks.I am assuming you are looking at a UK import 530 with the m30.If it is a uk import look out for rust altho the e 34 is mostly galvanised. The E34 has quite a complex elecrical system.Mos of your problems will likely be associated with that. Look here.Dont get discouraged by that list tho they dont happen all together and all the time
  20. ahahaa the hidden phrase in wellington real estate awesome views=< 100 steps fantastic views=>100 steps, esp in conjunction with no mention of garage or carpark, great views tho ,both
  21. it may not have cats,i think the poms were fairly late on the unleaded petrol game too.Dont worry you have a completely normal 535 with a few bits added,if it is a sports it should be very similar to mine, rxsumo and a coupla others here too.we all forgot the single biggest difference. It should also have a LSD.
  22. where abouts in Wellington Gus,do you know?
  23. dont know it but i am sure the E30 boys would go have a look at it for you...
  24. added to rxsumo(i wont mention your real name ........)Side skirts and front lip, mtech steering wheel and gearknob, metric wheels, shadowline mtech suspension may have included bigger bars than stock. the seats do it for me tho...
  25. this message on an e 34 quite often IS related to the brake light switch....wether thats any help i dont know.My switch was about $80 at the dealer. In the first instance see if you can pull the switch out(wedge the brake pedal down somehow) and blast ti with crc or something...worked for a while for me(on my e34) Again on my car the brake light warning is different, there isnt any reference to the circuit, just <brake light>
