Agree - looks awesome. My 325i wagon is on shortened Bilstein shocks with factory motorsport springs - see the photos in my thread. http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....showtopic=40154 You'll definitely need to do some rolling/guard pumping in the rear if you're going to lower it. (Unless you don't really load it up etc)

Cheers guys - that black one is a good example. Might have to go check there's no reason not to...

Earlier this year I sold my similar coupe for $10500. Silver, NZ new, full history, 144km. Had heaps of offers around $9k. That might help you value it. Good luck with the sale. Edit: yours looks tidier and a better colour!

I bought an E39 off him about a year ago. He's a good guy and uses Burgers for all his work (well he did at the time). I agree that it's getting more and more tempting as the price drops.
-
Yeah I actually didn't put the exhaust on - the previous owner did. Cheers though - it's just so good having a wagon.
-
Cheers guys. Michael, RealOEM says the diffuser is a separate piece, and is shared between the touring & sedan. I could look into doing that with the exhaust I guess. I quite like the Remus tips, so would be more inclined to raise them and try manipulating them inwards slightly, then just cutting more of the diffuser away. At the moment it doesn't bother me enough though!
-
Yeah I did briefly consider it, but space is pretty limited as you suggested. Also then the tips would sit quite close to the paintwork as opposed to the black diffuser which I don't really want to modify.
-
After a road trip last weekend, the wagon got a clean today. Here are some photos (including the Remus as asked). Nothing new since the last photos - money has been spent on maintenance instead.

Those are the ones. How much incl postage to Auckland?
-
Do you have the window covers (black vertical trim on the doors). Are they matte or gloss black? Cheers
-
Not sure who stocks Remus now, but they're not cheap systems. I'd suggest replacing the exhaust with an OEM one if you don't want to spend much. Cheap ones, as everyone else says, sound horrible.
-
Are you based in Auckland? I've got a remus quad tip exhaust on my E46 325i wagon at the moment, it sounds really good. I'm considering going back to a standard exhaust for several reasons, so send me a PM if you're interested. My understanding is it will fit sedans too.

I bought an iPad 3 months ago, and sold it last week purely because of this. No flash is highly annoying!
-
I assume its the blue one that has been on TradeMe for months? Personally I wouldn't touch it for $7k with those kms unless it had extensive servicing already done on it. Ie new cooling system & suspension bushes / arms etc.
-
It all depends what you mean by "very well looked after". What major work has been done on the car? Does it have full service history? It's a pretty subjective area. Personally, I wouldn't touch it, but others will disagree.

Yeah Graham (Apex). He does a good job too.

Had those in my car a few years ago (in the fogs). They look cool when it's dark, but aren't very bright. Can't really see them in the daylight from memory. They also can trigger 'check bulb' faults which are highly irritating. Won't comment on the HIDs passing the WOF - already expressed my views.
-
Congrats Johno!
-
I installed HIDs into my E36 years ago, and thought the same thing. Unfortunately, not only were they still blinding, you also had worse visibility than OEM halogen bulbs because you had to aim them so low. Sorry OP - not trying to rain on your parade, but they are illegal for a reason. I certainly wouldn't want to try claiming insurance after a crash with those installed...
-
All sorted thanks to HellBM - it was the torque converter. Once again, thanks Ray!

I'm a massive fan of the M5 / Motorsport bumper on E39s. They make it look far better. But as you've said, you'd need to even up the side mouldings too. I'm sure Ray / Brent / eBay could sort that for you though if you're not so keen on a DIY approach.
-
Yeah I sold the car a few years ago, but here are some more photos I have on hand. The M5 bumper is the best for the car in my opinion. I also added the M5 lip on the boot which helped, but never got round to the msport rear bumper. OP sorry for the thread jack - Julian PM me if you want any more details.
