No leads sorry, but I think mine may be on the way out, so when you find out can you fire the details on here for me? Cheers bro.

There are two ships in NZ that deliver fuel to ports. Both are owned by Silver Fern Shipping - the Taiko, and the Kakariki. My brother is the 3rd mate on the Taiko - they hold something in the order of 30-50 thousand tonnes of fuel when full. They travel the length of NZ approximately weekly or more often carting fuel from Marsedn Point to all major NZ ports. Man, I need him to drop a bit off at my place - just a couple of tonnes every six- twelve months would do - nothing in percentage tersm!!! I'm sure they could "lose" that much... bumpstop knows the cook on the Kakariki I think... You get any cheap fuel tim? lol
-
Most times I drive it, but only once it's hot - and it's not me redlining it - it does it itself - its an auto - I don't decide when to change gears, it does. it normally changes just below red under hard acceration - once on a mates airstrip really caning it, it went slightly into the red between third and fourth at something around the 150km/h mark (wasn't paying that much attention to speedo)
-
I hate that add on the radio "Drive to the conditions, if they change reduce your speed" t's not the message i hate - I agree, its the annoying jingle and the fact they play it all bloody day - drives me to drink. And drink driving is not cool... (jks)

You remind me of a mate. i suggested leaving the car at the hotel when we were in auckland for a concert and taking a bus to the concert. His reply - "What? and travel with the great unwashed!" Shocked the hell out of me, but I folded and we took a cab instead - corporate cabs at his insistence - bloody hell!

Our firm pays $0.65/km plus $5 a day up to 3000, then obviously fringebenefit tax kicks in. The high fuel prices is why I negotiated a company car last pay review (in May) into my remuneration package. I travel 60km's a day just to get to work and back - now the bimmer gets to sit comfortably locked in the garage all week and I take her out on weekends. At $1.61 for 96 and about 11km per litre, I would normally spend over $50 a week on fuel just to get to work!! I'm not going to say what I get paid, but lets just say $50 a week is a percentage worth counting. Boycotting the Servos though?? Piffle! If you don't fill up today, you'll fill up tomorrow instead. The only way to hit them is to reduce your usage overall - and for everyone to do this. And until the price is high enough - for the most of us - that won't happen.

The annual reed ceremony just finished in Swaziland. 50,000 topless virgins aged 9-20-something dance and sing for the king and he chooses one to be his wife (he has something like 12 wives already including last years Miss Teen Swaziland.) Lucky for some!!! All his wives get pallaces, and he just bought them all new 5-series BMW's each. One of the virgins (aged 20) was quoted in the herald as saying "If I am Queen I don't want a mercedes - the car for a queen to drive is a BMW seriees X5" At least they have taste...

It's called tourist season and it hasn't started - alot of businesses are closed now, or run on a shoestring to keep the locals happy. Go into the same pub in january - packed with everyone from the campsite etc. Same everywhere up here. At the moment it is good - empty beaches, plenty of bays to anchor in, pubs and cafes pretty much to ourselves, then around October, you lot come in and f**k it up for a few months. We don't mind cos you leave behind wads of cash, but we're all glad to see that back of you. Plus it gives me something to look at when I go to the beach on my lunch break, and there's always plenty of tourist action to be had down the pubs during the holiday season - why go overseas to experience other cultures when they come to you! Plus it also means we get some good events the regular population wouldn't support like concerts etc. So it's all for a good cause, but in the off season, many businesses cloase, the rest just cut right back and "hibernate" so to speak. The holiday season often pays the bills for the whole year it is that lucrative. oh and you may have noticed the cost of living up here is higher - property prices match Aucklands, rates are often higher than auckland and for what services???? I don't have council water or sewerage at my place (private spring and septic tank), no footpath, no rubbish collection - just power and phone that I had to pay to have installed myself. Food is slightly more expensive - I have to pay tourist prices at the cafes - $6 pints, $5 coffes, $5 sandwiches, $20 breakfast. Gas was over $1.50 BEFORE the recent price rise, no it's over $1.60 So that is how businesses survive.

Don't get the wrong end of the stick - I wouldn't have moved here if there was an epidemic - just that the few incidents I have seen tend to be quite severe. On second thoughts, nah bro - its terrible - why would you want to move up here?? It's crap - stay where you are nice and safe... **Mumble, mumble, people moing to the area and spoiling it mumble mumble**

Try driving anywhere near kawakawa, morewa, kaitaia, kaikohe or the west coast. Otherwise it's fine - notice I said the crazy ones were mostly in the hokianga Waipapakauri, Houhora, Tokerau Bay, Karikari, Spirits Bay All those places are excluded as is Kerikeri, Russell, Opua and Paihia, Whangaroa, Mangonui, Karikari, and all the other empty nice spots. It doesn't happen often, but enough for me to have seen what I have seen in 12 months since I moved back.

See it all the time in Auckland late at night. Up in Northland they don't tend to stop and hit you, they try to force others off the road. I have seen more than one occaision when someone is being chased down and the pursuer pulls alongside and swerves into the other car's lane forcing the other car onto the shoulder. It's insane. In the Hokianga my work colleague was almost run over - he had to dive into the ditch to avoid being hit, and guns have been waved over there. I-N-S-A-N-E!

I was out surveying at a farm yesterday and the farmer next door came over and told us he'd turned his electric fence off so I didn't have to worry about being zapped. He then went on to say that his wife had been dead for 7 years, so he wasn't going to try it, but he'd heard that resting your balls on a live fence was better than viagra. I told him I wasn't about to try it and maybe he could f**k off. (OK not in those words, but you get the idea) - Sick f**king farmers!! As to the car - lights - OH NO! Wheels - OH NO! Whole effect - yep - I'm getting it, I feel it, its just not me. I can handle chrome if they're the right chromes. Spinners on an e30?? I wouldn't do it, but I reckon it'd look sweet.

Yeah as I said - I was sent the wrong literature. The person whoasked me is involved inseveral events and I just got sent the info for the wrong one first time around.Standard of car? Anything that would attract people cos it's cool. Yuors would be fine andrew, but obviously if all that were there were half rusted 318i's with McD's wrappers on the floor and a sub in the boot mounted in the cardboard box it came in, the effect is lost wouldn't you say. Anything that is clean inside and out and looks good - standard is fine - different (i.e. track ready, or semi-show car, or tricked-out ice install) is better. For instance topless has volunteered the cabby - perfect. if my schedule changes and I can make it - even though the 320 is looking pretty good right now, I'd prob bring the Baur. You get the idea - most of the vehicles that I have personally seen in the flesh on BS would do - Duncans old one (although not my taste) good cos it's diff and appeals to a certain audience, RJ's cos it's clean, sleek and pretty straight, Shelleys - damn straight little e30, Andrew, Damian, Ollie, Angus, cage, - all clean straight cars = good! Cain - nuff said. Plus dozens I haven't seen in the flesh, but have seen good pics on the site. Thanks to those who have already volunteered. I am waiting on the organisers now to confirm the space, and how much space, and what the format will be. I will be keeping those who have expressed and interest informed, so PM me if that is you and you haven't yet.
-
Great - if those interested want to PM me with a name and either email or ph no. I have started a list and have three vehicles so far on it. I will contact those who have expressed interest and keep them informed - it is 10 weeks away, but I imagine we'd need to have numbers in concrete by 2 weeks out, and if you commit, please try to actually turn up - it is a bit different to the odd casual meet as once you've said you will come, the expectation will be that unless something relatively important crops up, you do.

OK, that MAY be where the terms came from, but certainly not BMW itself - BMW was actually built upon the merger and take over of several companies over the years. One had the BMW name another the facility and another the financial nounce capital etc. This happened over several years. The original intention (writtien in the articles of indenture for the company) was always to make coaches. Airplane engines were embarked on due to appropriate machinery and plant coming available and it being an easy area to make money in that era. The 1st world war helped move that area along in later years, but that was of ourse halted for some time by the restrictions placed on Germany by the allies after the war (i.e. not allowed to produce aircraft etc cos they were scared of those bloody good german planes - go the luftwafe!). There was a car produced by BMW before the first bike (from memory) but it was an Austin made under license and not badged a BMW.

I hate poltiics. Not just country politics, but all politics. Office politics, Fire Brigade politics, Coastguard polititcs, Bimmersport politics, Family politics blah blah - you get the idea. I also hate the prick who steals my park about once a week - If I ever catch him/her I'll castrate/behead them! Self-important little pricks who think because they have a job with some measley amount of authority it makes them God. Security guards, council workers, bouncers and parking wardens spring to mind. Theives - I reackon we start chopping off body parts of theives. I don't slave away 50 hours plus a week to have my window broken and my sh*t taken. People who whinge and moan at every opportunity which means I probably hate myself. Now I have a complex

Someone was looking for headlights the other day - there is a TM auction for both L and R lights plus the grille - looks to be pre-f/l as not ellipsoids. $150 buy now link If you are still looking.
-
Yeah - it sold. $1030 without the stereo. He bought a 96 vr4 Legnum and I quote "Fully loaded 0-100 in 6.6sec". Traitor.... Sorry man - wish you well on the search - if you happen to find a f/l manual 320 or 325 with body damage in your search - let me know.

THE EDGE will be there, and it is being advertised in local papers, radio and TV. I will keep you all posted as I get new info, but this could be quite a chance to get some advertising for BS, BMWCC may want to be involved (BMWCC members please coment), and if NZICE get involved them too.

OK BIG CHANGES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was given some wrong info - f**king dumb-arsed wires getting crossed - see edits in first post for actual details.

I have a friend who is involved in an Expo aimed mostly at teens (but also a family event) to raise awareness for Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, and to raise money to help those affected (both those with the syndrome and their families etc). This is a bit different to what I was originally propositioned, so those of you who have read this please read again. I was told it was going to be a workshop for troubled teens but it appears that somewhere along the line I was sent the literature for a different event. Ehlers Danlos Syndrome is a connective tissue disorder - under current treatments available, the almost certain probable future for people who are suspected to have this disorder, is that they will live life with difficulties in performing daily activities, suffer progressively more and more pain, live a life of the fear that they may suffer from painful dislocations, organ rupture, and unexpected death. It is relatively rare, however those affected by it would certainly appreciate any help. The plan is to hold a fund raiser in Orewa. All the proceeds from this event will be donated to EDFNZ (Ehlers Danlos Foundation of NZ) for testing and treatment. The expo will also increase the awareness of EDS to a level where the Ministry of health may list it as being worthy of funding. From there it will get easier to be tested, and get treatment. The fund raiser will be called “Lifestyle creationz – Youth Expo” it will consist of an annual one day event, this year to be held in the Hibiscus Coast Youth Center, Behind KFC Hibiscus Coast Highway Orewa On November 6th from 9am – 5pm This is aimed at showing young adults that they can create an exciting healthy future that inspires them! Young adults are a part of every ones life, whether we have them, or not. Their behavior impacts all of us. They are our future! If they have access to creating a healthy lifestyle, that appeals to them, the future of our community will be a better place. The youth center is located behind KFC in Orewa, an easy location to find. The center comprises of a building which will be set up with 20 stalls and a large screen with sound. There will also be a large marquee that will be set up with 15 stalls, tables and chairs and a stage with a sound system. There will be a large open sided truck with live bands playing, a café with hot drinks and light foods, a sausage sizzle, food vans selling hot food and radio coverage by “The Edge” who will be there in there Dodge Rams (huge trucks). There is a skate park and rock climbing and abseiling walls outside, with additional rock climbing walls inside where demonstrations and competitions will be held and judged by experts and celebrities. The center is located next to the estuary, where weather permitting there will also be activities happening. I was approached by my friend who is involved in the organisation of the event as she knows of my involvement in the automotive scene through friends, here, NZICE forums more recently, Chosen Few (no I'm not a member just friends with some) and various other forums. What she is hoping is that I can organise 10 or 12 vehicles that are of a certain standard to attend the event as we all know that cool rides attract teens, and then the idea is that they get to see what sort of comraderie there is in car clubs, what hard work will get you, and essentially all the usual show and shine-type attractions. Now there are three catches. 1) It is on the 6th of Novemeber which means due to prior commitments I cannot attend and so I am hoping to find someone who sees the value in this and will take the ball and run with it so to speak. i.e. take over for me. I was going to try and suss it for the same day as the Sth Akl meet, but the date is unmovable, and it looks as tho that meet is happening later in the month. 2) You will have to take about 1-2 hours out of your schedule to attend. 3) "Exhibitors" are expected to pay for space by way of "donation". The idea is that since we would not be going as a business, we would not have to pay, although donations would be appreciated. This is yet to be finalised. If someone here also sees the potential in such an event that I do and is able to take over the organising of this part of it, I would appreciate it and will put you in touch with the organisers who can then elaborate exactly what they need. Also those of you able to attend with vehicles that are close to finished and look good if you could register your interest so I can guage whether it is likely to take off. It is for a good cause and should be a fun day. Oh, and my friend is 16 and good looking and I could probably organise the school uniform if that helps sway your mind lol..

I have always followed sic's view, and quite naturally refer to "the bimmer". Beamer seems strange to me?? I looked at pwned but was more taken by PWN3D. Have opted for something totally different in the end. Do a search 0 I'm sure bimmer/beamer has been discussed before.
