  1. Not always - but the it might have nothing inside the circle. I didn't go out and check, but like I said ABS should be ORANGE and yes it does go off once engine is started. Like I said Brake fluid or ABS. Brake pad wear is the one with the dashed lines...

    Fog lights

Yeah - that came in a month or two back - not allowed them except in unclear atmospheric conditions i.e. fog. There was a discussion on here then but I'm too lazy to search it for you. It is all clearly spelt out in the LTSA website under lighting. I like the look of fogs, but what can you do???
  4. Sorry took so long for pics - he had to go and take some. It is also on Trademe here Apparently it still runs, but what damage has been caused by the overheating is anybodies guess. It is not being driven obviously. Ryanz - I have PM'd you the guys email addy. His mobile is on the TM auction.

    awesome

Serves whoever it is right I say.
  6. Either brake fluid level or ABS. If it is red - brake fluid level. If it is orange then ABS.
  7. sh*t bro - hard to tell from pic, but my guess is a rubber bung came of the housing, and the hose to nowhere - it's not a drainage hose is it? so can't see much from the pic.
  8. More good info!!! Will have to go and see what ratio my diff is - looking more and more attractive to buy a wholecar every time I look at it.
  9. So basically you are telling me that it is not a problem. Good. I don't mind having to get the support x-member fabricated as long as the driveshaft bearing housing isn't going to cause me significant trouble. Beleive me - finding a wrecked f/l with a manual in good cond is damn near impossible!
  10. Quick query - are f/l and pre-f/l gearboxes the same/have the same mounts up to bellhousing etc - ie can you use a pre-f/l 'box to convert a f/l auto to manual?

    Virtual NPC

No - after cleaning out the office pool of a hundred or so $$$ in the Virtual Super12 I decided to quit whilst I was still ahead and haven't registered for VNPC - good luck to those who have tho! (Yes I did have to skite - why else would I post such pointless rubbish?)
  12. You also want a bit of resistance too, but up to you.

    Tiptronic

Manual my preference of course and I'm looking at the conversion option, but nothing like the auto changing it's mind mid-corner in the wet for you to get the tail out. Also - E30stz taught me a trick with the 320 auto the other day - move off to about 40km, relaese gas momentarily to allow slight engine braking and then floor it - damn thing takes off like a scalded cat - wheelspin definately possible in wet! tried it in a 325 auto with sport selected = wheelspin in the dry. Otherwise manual all the way - although I would like to get my hands on a true DSG to have a play. Mitsubishi also brand-name their sequential auto's tiptronic I believe.

What I was thinking - ick!
  15. Thanks Carl - awesome answer. Looking into this myself if I find a nice smooth-running rusted-to-sh*t f/l e30.

I can work both. Your one harkens to a traditional Auto with down shift being a click rearward, and this is often the way the old daytona racing games were too if I recall those dim dark days. However I have driven a falcon? I think it was the falcon (if not then some other large sedan like a diamante or something) with the lever opposite and was up with the play in no time flat as it was just foot to the floor and flick down to change up -changing down was then a short series of up-flicks - easy. So long story short - no preference really.
  17. Yeah it was - I get you now and agree wholeheartdly with that logic.I don't judge people on whom they vote for - I may disagree and try to sway them to my view, but they don't lose any face or standing with me based on their political view. An interesting thing happened the other day - I was in a car with four others attending a traffic safety course for work and the tutor asked who in the car was voting labour in a manner which suggested he was going to himself. Everyone in the car said no and looked at him expecting an explanation of why he was. He laughed and said - "funny that - I've pulled that one out every day this week and got the same response each time." Interesting in that he has got a 100% seat-of-the-pants poll against labour but telly polls are very close. Maybe the construction sector is anti labour???
  18. What do I mean? I mean that I have no confidence in the current majority parties. If I could place a vote of no confidence in the government this year I would. I don't think either have well-thought-out policies - they are in the most part as described in the thread description - bribes. Helen Clarke is NOT a good leader - she tramples on our foreign trade agreements, muddles with our defence force, lies, cheats and then leaves her staff to hang. She always seems to get herself into strife and then lies to get out of it - blatantly - and when she is caught just refuses to make comment. I know she does not have a monoploy on this behaviour in parliament, but she seems to pull some right doozies. So no she is NOT a good leader - what she is is a good administrator- she has the bookwork and parliament running like clockwork - but she has no vision, no integrity and no clue. Brash is a pain in my arse - I do agree that the country should be run like a business as long as that doesn't mean leaving the marginalised groups in our population out to dry because it is to hard or hurts the bottom line. Brash just loves to grandstand, bt he lacks substance. Like I said - we're f**ked both ways - damned if you do damned if you don't scenario. And Grant you are positively wrong about not voting for a small party. It may be a two horse race, but under MMP (especially when the polls are so close for the majority parties) a coalition is inevitable. So what you do is pick the majority party you tolerate the most, then look at its possible coalition partners, review their policies and vote for the party that is making a stand for things you place value in. That way you get the majority party you hate least and they get your minority party as a thorn in their side being nice and vocal for the policies that matter to you. It won't always work, but if enough people did that, we MAY get a semi-sensible government. Now I am not an MMP advocate - and I don't like the fragmentation of parties in parliament, but that is the system we are lumped with folks, so may as well work it to your benefit. And to end - my mother always told me never to discuss politics or religion as everyone has a different opinion and will not agree. Maybe I should have listened to her - only the flaming or lack thereof will let me decide.
  19. I'm undecided but it won't be Labour. I hat e election year like the plague - all the puffing and postulating - and public debates?? Worst reality-tv series ever! Baiting each other and sh*t. damn! I want to know how you are going to run the country, not how good you are at dodging mud thrown by the opposition, or how good you are at throwing it! f**king monkeys... I'll vote, but I reckon we're f**ked either way to be quite honest.
  20. OK, the guts of it is is that the temp gauge was shot, and he drove form auckland city to Papatoetoe before he noticed a lack of power - engine overheated due to waterpump. So, engine will need some serious TLC to ever get it sweet again IMO. Otherwise he said its in very good nick with no rust, in standard trim done about 130,000kms. PM me if interested.

    got me a bike..

If you don't mind me asking - how much? It's about time I got myself back on two wheels. haven't owned a bike in about three years unless you count the dirtster. I'm more of a cruiser owner - yamaha virago, honda rebel type of bike, but the sports bikes offer much more bang for buck.
  22. How a bout a 318iA 2-door? Mate has one in Papatoetoe that just blew the water pump. It's f/l (1989) and my guess is that it overheated (I'd have to ask him). It's pretty stock, but the shell is in good nick as far as I can remember and it is still current rego/wof. My guess is that $1000 would be a good starting point to work him down from. If I talk to him in the next day or so and get more details I'll post up a for sale for him, otherwise PM me and I'll give you his contact details.
