  1. Jack Bauer v. Chuck Norris. Discuss. (100 Marks)
  2. GAC - looked after my 2002tii, M3, 520i, 325i and is fantastic
  3. Seemingly it was a rental at a daily rate of GBP20k!
  4. Recommendations? Should be iPod specific and be able to control the iPod from the head-unit. Don't want anything that goes in the boot or the like. Glovebox would be ok. Look forward to hearing from y'all. For the record, likely to go into a 1998 Audi A3 1.8 turbo sport.
  5. Agree with Martyn. The best way to do it is 'feel' your way through the process yourself. I did this for my E30 M3 about six years ago. As a lawyer, it was one of the toughest 'paperwork' exercises I have ever had to do in life. I promised myself I'd never do it again. Still, if you are up for it, do your own research - otherwise someone else's 'advice' could lead to the most costly mistake you make in a few years. E30 M3s don't make great pieces of art for the wall!
  6. It is an Evo I (confirmedby VIN) but has Evo II specs (i.e. around 220 bhp, etc). Group N racing suspension (from memory) and all the bells and whistles (i.e. custom manifold / extractors built, alarm, stereo, ... lacking sunroof). All papered up so you can actually drive it away (as opposed to trailer trash). If anyone is interested (beyond tire kicking) call Graeme Clyde at GAC and he will talk you through the car as he has known it as long as me, and has done all the work on it (incl. RHD conversion). The Evo III is now in Australia, I think. If only I'd had more money back in 2001! Cheers, J
  7. Firstly - there is a single RHD (original from factory) M3 that was the Australian show car. Then worked out demand was not high enough to manufacture in RHD, so if you wanted one, it had to be LHD. Secondly - not all RHD conversions have been done by Birds. Graeme Clyde (GAC) has done two conversions I know of (my M3 Evo I, and an Evo III - Sport if you will). Took me about a year to have converted and get street legal (back in 2001). A lot of effort, but well worth it. My advice, spend as much money up front as possible. Otherwise, you'll be spending twice as much on whatever you buy. $50k, and you can drive away in my M3 tomorrow.
  8. I own a M3 (RHD conversion) in CHC. Custom steering racks being made in AKL for the fast rack conversion - but haven't been bothered to purchase and install yet. There is another white RHD M3 and a 325 replica red one.
  9. Most will be US spec and tarted up boy racer styles (thus the big bore exhaust, different driving seat, etc). I'd steer clear - but then I can afford to. I'd want to land the car for c.10k if I did buy one. Try and stay away from the US specs though. And, no matter what, have a fat and open wallet.
  10. 250km - but then I only get to drive it about 10 days a year at the moment. Anyone want to buy a low km E30 M3 Evo?
  11. Is it real - gear indicator doesn't look dog leg. Would make is US spec?
  12. You can buy my street legal m3 for $50k if you like (no offers).
  13. FTR I had a E30 four door Sport - now with a 2.8. Don't get confused between Motorsport and Sport - they are definitely different. Cheers, J
  14. NZD57,500 or GBP23,000 Both NZ and UK prices
  15. I know of a great NZ registered M3 for sale ....
  16. Caveat emptor. Also, it is best to ask a price, and negotiate. Just need to make the supply and demand curve meet and one has a sale. Might be time to revist the hold Sport v. Motorsport v. after-market Motorsport thing though - to me, that is what a buyer needs to beware about. I know a nice Sport with a 2.8ltr in it! Also know of a nice M3 for sale!
  17. Am I right in thinking the "Marketplace" isn't well used? Can someone then tell me what the address (preferably e-mail) is for advertising in Dixi? Thanks in advance, Justin
  18. Can someone post the link to their website? Do they still exist?
  19. Giving you guys the heads up - I am selling my M3. Briefly, all work done by GAC in CHC, including RHD conversion. 150,000k, Evo II specs (c. 220 - 240 hp). Black on black ... will post more info once I have compiled it all. Registered, warranted and ready to drive away. Should be in a position to post pictures on Monday, but if you are interested at all (and not just a tyre kicker) let me know. To avoid embarrasment, we are talking $50k to $60k. Dale Kerrigan need not apply sendtojustin at hotmail dot com. Cheers, J
  20. I don't think the Isuzu has anywhere near 200 hp at the wheels!
  21. Looks fantastic - but I don't understand the turbo side of things or the Evo I side of things. Care to enlighten the uneducated (me)? Cheers, J
  22. Well, it looks LHD, so not discounted from being a turbo yet, but then if it is, that is some serious cash. Saw a "turbo wannabe" for sale from Japan a couple of years back, but personally, if it ain't the real thing, don't try and fool me. If it is a real deal turbo, you lucky, lucky man! Just don't do a Nikki Lauder and put it into a wall (eight times). Cheers, J
  23. Talk to Graeme Clyde at GAC in Christchurch, he did my RHD conversion. Agree, about "garage queen" cars - have looked at a couple myself - I too am in London, and my M3 is a "garage queen" in Christchurch. If I see a Sport Evo here, I'm buying it, no questions, no nothing. Will then decide what to do with it.
  24. Not a track car at all, just an excellent Evo I (Evo II specs) that is like my first born (well second, the 2002tii was the first born). As a word of warning, it is not so much the cost of the car, but the hassle factor that you need to put a value on. It took me a year and a half to get my car on the road - so you can imagine the time involved. Also, check the UK cars for rust etc as that can run you well into five figures to have (properly) removed. M3s should not be, and are not, cheap cars to own / run.
