In my time, I've had three sets of custom headers (and exhaust) made - 325i / 2002tii / M3. B1tch of a job, so I paid through the nose for them. Being technically retarded, you will need to call Graeme Clyde at GAC in CHC to find out more / get further guidance, although I know they were all even / tuned length jobs out of stainless steel.

Forgot to say, there is a nice 325i Sport (with a 2.8 in it) floating around CHC for sale - now that is what I would buy. But alas, no garage space!

Start high - and always come down. I'd ask $16.5 and move from there. Esp. if it is factory. Much of what is in NZ (in my opinion) is "rated higher" than what it actually is. CiLK Worm will disagree, I am sure, but that is his perogative. Ask yourself, what would I pay for this on the open market (which you already know, because you bought it in the first place) and that will give you and indication. Don't expect to make money - unless it is a Sport / M3 / Alpina / Hartge (and in respect of all - GENUINE). Enough. Good luck with your sale.

I've got component 5.25" in the rear deck - but I wonder why. Agree, leave covered as vents for the subs. Also a cheaper option! Even nicer is to get a new (uncut) rear tray and not bother with grills - now that looks hot.

This topic was hotly debated in the past. All depends on condition, whether factory m/s or aftermarket, etc, etc, etc. It is worth what someone will pay you for it. Only takes one buyer.

In my 325i Sport, I had a little 8" JBL sub firing through the ski-hole port (with armrest acting as a baffle) and it sounded damn good. Admitting that the two 10"s in the M3 are boot sealed, facing backwards, and, of course, driven hard. The Mu has its 12" facing backwards (but then a big cabin for the base to drop). Now, being technically / scientifically challenged, I'm not competent enough to enter the forward / rear facing debate but suggest the following: 1. we're not going for competition standard installs; 2. as long as it sounds good, who cares; 3. as long as its a stealth install, who cares; and 4. a car isn't the best sound environment, so will it REALLY matter? One other question, my JBL CF100s home speakers have 10" subs facing forward (as well as the tweeters and mid-range) and they sound good. Should I be facing them against the wall though?

Get a f***ing 8-track and some paper cone speakers and have done with. You boys and your maths, and subs facing forwards stuff. Mind-blowing when your hung-over! In my car I have too soundstages - front for driving and off the rear deck when I'm with a lady in the back. I have an "A/B" switch so you choose which sound stage to use. The subs in the boot even rotate 180 degrees between sound stages. Pretty cool set-up eh? (Deliberate spelling mistake left in for CilK WuRM to edit)

we are cooking on all cylinders here! Fellow posters - take note!

part it out - otherwise you're just fakin' it! at least take the badges off!

That is a good price - you wouldn't take my wagon off my hands for twice that. Well worth buying!

enjoy shelling out much money for the Roundel!

Get the best Dynatron you can afford and get it from Car Stereo Company on Kent Terrace. No questions, there are no other options in Wellington. I did the above and it is brilliant - and I have had around six alarms installed in various cars and the above has proven to be the only truly successful install. J

Not a 2002 wagon - I think you'll find it is a mid-50s variant of some kind - a predecessor to the 2002ti touring (seen one in CHC).

Steer clear - you get what you pay for. If you guys are SERIOUS about getting an M3 - I would advise a Northern Hemisphere sortie and bring one out. Store it, and put it on the road as and when. Treat it as a 30th / 40th .... birthday present. Or, waste your money on the cr@p that we are seeing floating around NZ. In summary, you shouldn't be able to get a RHD M3 for <$40,000. LHD may be a little cheaper, but most will be US spec. J

No more pictures unfortunately. It has changed slightly - replaced the red highlighting at front and back and putting 16" BBS 3-piece rims on to replace the 15" rims. Installing 48kg blond, version 2 (with twin airbags) in passenger seat.

After coming off the boat, it was SOOO dirty, so I had to have it cleaned .... professionally!

Shelled out $25k for a car I had seen two polaroid photos of. It was being shipped from Italy - then it got dropped at my door. Then I saw it in the flesh! Scary really!

somewhere between 2.7 - 2.8 - more importantly 200-220 bhp. still for sale - contact Graeme Clyde at German Auto Components in Christchurch. J

My mom drives a 320i wagon - auto no less. But, then again, it does have the 2.8 ltr go faster engine in it ;-) And an 8-track - she old skool!
-
Go for the 90 - forget the 87! Esp. if an SE. 2k will get you a lot more goodies for it. Low kms - legit?

My thought exactly, also what about when it comes to insurance. What happens when the person has an accident, and the insurance assessor investigates???Cheers Its a risk you have to take, but how many ppl would use a e30 m3 as a daily driver, i know my brothers mate doesnt, he drives his m-tec 2 daily, hes only taken the m3 out 3 times since it landed at port 1mnth ago. I would fully do it, hes talking me round slowly. Please do it, everyone out there - wreck your E30 M3s as suggested in this link. I'll even offer $50 to each M3 so wrecked. Go on, DOooo EEEIT! (been watching Starsky and Hutch).

Are you sure - 325i Sport (c.3,700 made) had the 191hp engine by my understanding. Happy to be proved wrong. British ones were known as "Sport" but there was also the hig comp motor "Sport"Whihc was known by that name as well. You could buy a "Sport" with no kit and such, but with the motor, and goodies such as and LSD and recaros. There was one for sale last week. Everything i've read on the suject pretty much boils down to the same cars being called different things in different markets. The only real difference being the "Sports" as they were known by BMW. Pretty much all the other words such as Motorsport, UK Sport SA's 325iS, were invented by their respective home market BMW HQ's. I'll beg to differ, but we can agree to disagree. Much easier to avoid and get an M3.
