It's a hard one to answer without seeing it mate, but will try. You could give it a good go with a very mild cutting compound (by hand) then a good quality polish, however this will be a short term fix, could be a month or could be a year. The thing is the damage has been done. Now if the paint is in sound condition with no major chips or scratches then it's probably better to reclear. Get some 1200 grit wet sandpaper, i use 600, but for someone that doesn't have the experience 1200 is best, it will take longer but less chance of cutting through the clear and start removing the colour. Be sure to take extra care near edges and corners. You just need to dull it down so it looks flat. Let me know if ya have any more Q's mate.

Looks like a VW Passat wagon

As Ian doesn't have insurance and the other party were at fault their insurance will have to pay. This is the thing.........As the other parties insurance co does not have cover over Ians car they have NO legal right to Ians car, so that being the case they CAN NOT write it off.
-
Agreed, just leave it as is.
-
Ian, the way i understand it, as he has insurance but you don't then what can/will happen is they will either opt to fix or pay out. As it's not insured by them they can NOT write the car off. So you may find you're in a win/win situation (apart from the fact some cock stuffed ya car), get it fixed = win, get payed out and keep the car = win.

I know i wanted an E32 but things have changed in a very short time. Here's the story.............. Last weekend i was approached by a company 'bout painting a car for them to use around the country as a promo' vehicle. After many hours of throwing 'round ideas on every thing from rims to wether or not to chrome or nickel plate the trim, we came to the conclusion that my E3 will be used. They will pay for all paint products and also pay me to paint the car but they get final say in colour. So this bein' the case i decided to buy something that would tow the E3 and still have storage space, i was allowed a budget of 5k. I know i could've bought something Jap' but been there done that so i resorted to what i know well. Now bare in mind this will be painted to match the E3 and the tandem trailer the E3 will be towed on, yes this does mean the E3 is to become a trailer queen but i will NOT spend countless hours painting the underneath of the E3 to a mirror finish just to see it buggered by driving it on NZ roads. Christened............TOW PIG. '93 VR Holden ute, 4 wheel disc's and 5 spd manual.

Ok the E34 has to go because i just bought another car. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=253200346 I will consider any genuine reasonable offers from BS members.
-
LMAO that's old mate, it means. Another f**king Race I Can't Afford.
-
Well if all goes to plan on Wednesday the E34 will have to go no matter what. So tommorow i'm goin' to paint the centres of my T-star rep's black and they will go on the car, and the BBS's will go into stock. Unfortunately the BBS's are the wrong offset for the car i'm lookin' at, so i may even swap them for some 18's with 3 series offset................................hint, it's not a BMW.

Only prob' there is i carry 3 phones and none of them can take pic's like that

Who walks round the wreckers with a camera Actually that's not a bad idea.

Have reduced the price by a BIG chunk. Mark(1rotty), my balls arn't that big lol. Braeden, That's kinda what i've dropped it to. It's hard to drop the price, i think my sub-concious(sp?) priced it high 'cos i didn't REALLY want to sell, but now i want something different so it's gotta go.

Ok, i'm thinkin' bout changing my auction on TM to $1 reserve. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=251691283 I really want an E32 but can't get one 'til i sell the E34, i know it's probably a bit over priced at the mo' considering the k's, age and bein' a 520, but as my description on the auction says it's a very good runner, i gotta admit though i haven't even done plugs since i've owned it (runs & hides). I'm curious to hear what are your thoughts on this matter. cheeRS

The answer to a question no one ever asked. Ugly and pointless.

That silver thing still looks messy, if you want to de-loom then you should clear the whole engine bay. A VH44 remote booster would help. If you're serious then do it properly this time dude. PS, Getting shitty with people when they provide advice, especially mods, is a sure fire way of getting your thread locked.

Use this as a reference to find your colour. Keep in mind opposite colours work.

Holy f**k, check the cost of paint jobs for it. If i could charge prices like that for so little work........
