All in now. musthave somehow bent one of the drive shaft bolts slightly so it wudnt line up.

Hi guys,

took my diff out yesterday with no problems (really)....

putting the lsd back in and i cant get flange to slide into the drive shaft bolts/ have been under the car calling it all sorts of names but it just doesnt want to know about it.

Ive tried to slide the flange into the bolts first ( as it says in the haynes manual ) and cant even get that far..

Then i tried bolting up the unit, then lining up the bolts and flange and that wont work either

is there something im doing wrong?

i just had a read on the net and cant find much about it. on one page said put it in upside down, slide the flange through then turn it up the right way?

would definatly like a 540 e39 as my next car, when all the projects are done.

few weeks ago i got a set of genuine 17" alpina rims.

the rims are in poor visual cond and on of the rear ( 17x10 ) was buckled. took it to afew mag wheel repairers ( wheel fix it and aarow wheels ) and was told they could never fix it, i didnt want to take no as an answer so i took it to another place ( machine part welding ) just down the road from work. they showed me it spinning and the lip is buckled. dish has a slight buckle and even the hub/boltup part has a slight warp in it. the guy said he could make it better but itd never be right. soooo what i want to know IS THERE ANYWHERE I COULD GET A GENUINE 17x10 alpina rim?

thanks for the help guys. the towrope we got was a thick f***er and did the job. towd by my uncles ute. got the e36 home at 130am

did disconect the driveshaft from the diff and tied it up to the exhaust.

sump guard for an e36? are they a factory item? thanks guys.

Does anyone in auckland have a good towrope i can borrow asap? my dad cracked his sump in the e36 in whangamata and ill need to tow him back if the temperary fix doesnt work.

im in east auckland, so the closer the better.

Hi guys, jus picked up some 17" alpina rims today.

sizes are 17 x 8 1/2 and 17 x 10.

they have 20 spokes and alpina stampings around the bolt holes and under the center caps.

the only thing is they only came with 3 centercaps.

i know they are rare as f==k. does anyone know where to buy one or would it be easier to get a plate of aluminium machined up and just use that?

could be the shifter? happens on mercs quite offten i think

i think there is a few e34 m50 manuals on trademe at the moment. but are quite high in the price range.

considerd an m30 manual? ive got two and are more then good enough for daily driving and the odd thrash around. but they are fairly thursty

i want to turbo one of my m30 engines but dont know howmuch or what to do realy.

sounds like the ?thurst bearing? try turning the car off with your foot on the clutch/ my car makes that noise if i turn it off when clutch is disengaged. just a thaught

looks prity buzzi, i think you will need to carry the rust allover the car. or matt colour the whole car and go from there. just dont think the rusty and gloss paint goes very well?

give them a quick sand with 120 then 180grit get a black spray can and your away
