Nice work Josh.

Looking for a e30 carpet in Tan. Like this but for a RHD car-
-
He mentioned it but didn't have it on him, can you send it to me via PM? I now have 3 project cars for the winter, damn impulse buying, at least I have been hoarding e30 parts over the last few years so I don't need to spend anything on wheels, springs ect

None that I can see. The pistons go up and down freely but all will be revealed when its back together and I turn it over. A brush doused in fuel worked quite well without damaging anything.

Spent the day cleaning up the engine. Found all 6 exhaust valves are bent, 2 rockers were broken and 2 inlet valves have a slight bend which causes them not to sit flush in the seat. Luckily I have a second 885 head I bought a few years ago for parts. This is my work bench, couple of tyres stacked with the a door on top. Some nice bent valves The pistons and head cleaned up nicely Notice the glass through the head, it looks like this was added after the head was pulled so no real damage has been done. Next update will be in a few weeks once I get my parts order delivered and the engine is back together. After that I will move onto the interior/windows/roof.

Nah, was a complete impulse buy. I am still undecided about parting with the 540i as its such a nice car to drive.

Over the coming months I am going to be restoring my E30 325i Cabrio to its former glory so its time I start a project thread. I plan to: Rebuild the M20B25 motor as it currently has bent valves Fit a new roof as the current one in destroyed Fit new windows as it has none. Reupholster the interior and fit carpets as its destroyed Convert it to manual Repair the front valence and rear bumper Widen my two other BBS RS wheels Fit lower front springs and the list goes on and on, its going to be a busy few months. Are people keen for me to do writeups or just post quick updates?

E34 or E39? Budget? Keen on this?

I think I need a Touring in my life, anyone interested in buying this car?
-
Anyone want to go halves?

Should start a E30 M3 race series Can't wait until tomorrow, should be a good viewing of some epic machinery.

how much does one rim weigh?
-
Not going to be of much help but if you manage to find a 8 series for parting I would also be keen, need so many odd bits for my car. I have also found the E32/e34/e38 share a lot of parts with the 8, get the part number and search for it on something like realoem.com and it will tell you all the cars it was fitted on.

I need the screw that holds the drivers side wiper down on the 850i and in doing a quick search it shows that the European E38 7 series shares the same wiper screws/bolts. Is anyone wrecking one so I can come have a look to make sure its the right one? To describe it.... it has a thread on the inside which screws onto the wiper mechanism. It is the bottom of the two bolts that hold the wiper arm down. Its the size of an old 5c coin. I'm 99% sure its part 12 in this diagram. - 61611392127

Just to be annoying, can you give me a weight of one of the rims with a tyre on it?

how much does 1 rim weigh?

not that badass but I can do them cheaply and they will come with 4 semi slicks, have a set of Racing Dynamics RGQ 17x8 ET20 5x120.

I was hitting the curbs really hard in practice trying to get past a certain black e36 and that is when I started breaking stuff. The moral of the story is not to ride curbs. edit - I like this pic Groundsky took, looks like I am sleeping, you will also notice the cable ties holding the front of the car together after all the rivets popped it practice.

Best Race Lap from Hampton @ 1:13.97 - http://vimeo.com/33475284 During this lap I had to deal the following which came apparent after the race.... -Loose bonnet, thing causes the front to lift which acts as a wind brake at high speed. -Loose Radiator -The rear of the gearbox was sitting on top of the mounts but was not bolted down, this causes huge amounts of movement under brakes -Buggered engine mounts - the engine had moved forward which is why the gearbox would not bolted down -Loose steering rack, had about 5mm of lateral movement, this caused it to steer itself under brakes -Leaking/cracked exhaust headers, this was due to stress caused by the engine moving forward and the headers were the only thing holding the engine in place. Since they were only minor issues I did two more races in the same state but its definitely time for a overhaul.

loving the noise those e30 m3's make
-
I liked it more when it looked like this...

Put on the style 5's, preferred the look of no center caps. Also gave the car a well deserved clean. To finish up I did a spanner check and found the ground wire on the back of the block to be loose so gave it a good tightening.
