Hmmm I wouldnt say theyre the two best brands .. but they ARE the best options for your price bracket. I would do canon as its supported more around the world.

hybrid replied to naughty bmw's topic in Brakes, Suspension & Steering
Hmmm longevity is the only question. Also can they be rebuild easily. Lots of kits on the market that are fine for a year or two, then you just find yourself having to go through it all again because of leaky shocks or rambled springs. Sometimes a bit better to justsave a little bit longer for the more expensive kit? dunno.. hard one that. Depends on what you want from it. -
Its evolution. When I first bought it. And its evolution. (lots of other stuff that are in these photos interior/nav retrofits etc)

After driving this yesterday from when it was auto (when I owned it) to what it is now (6 speed manual). Hard to explain, however it now makes it all (suspension setup etc) tie in together perfectly, the lack of weight and now the manual really brings the car into its own. You find yourself not using the brakes to compensate for a corner as you do with an auto so the car is setup a lot better into a corner and you can power on earlier. The tire sizes really help obviously. Its now a new car and accepts the limits a lot better. Turn in is sharp and reminds me of the e30. No hint of understeer and point nicely into corners (not that it didnt before just the lack of weight really makes more of a difference) Great tight true performance car now. Heel toe is so much fun in this. Coding it was fun brendon and I learnt heaps in the process. Next is converting a (not mine) e39 properly to manual Nice work ray for finishing off what this car _really_ needed and now has the crown of New Zealands top 330 (sorry think it truely deserves the crown now)

I do like. Looking at it compared to the e60 however one cant help think its on a par looks wise and maybe in certain opinions a step backwards. The gills still look nicer on the e60 and the longer nose isnt always the first thing that warms my cockles. BMWs shorter noses are a institution, will be sad if they start to copy the japanese.

The button is attached to a digital encoder. It may be an issue with that. The only way to check that is to hotline the IBUS and check to see if the button is sending a repeditive signal to the DME. Other things are the stepper motor attached to the throttle body. Another thought is there is something going on with your speed sensor. A simple resistance test or diagnostic scan monitoring the live data will determine if its in range. Same goes with your TPS.

Have personally had it once or twice where you have a little fight with it and it decides to leave the sandpit with toy in hand. The way to use cruise is to turn on the cruise control which will give you a green light on the dash by pressing the cruise on button then drive up to the speed you want. then press and hold for a couple of seconds the speed set button. make corrections to your speed with the + or - buttons. obvious stuff I know but sometimes people get it wrong. The surge is normal as Darren says. Electrically, there is a signal wire that goes to the distrubution box. This tells the DME when to switch on or off. Software wise, its coded into every car weather your have a MF steering wheel or not. At a strech having it scanned will bring up any readible faults however the issue may not be stored in the fault resigter (quite often not). Its a starting point though. I could read your + and - ibus codes to see weather theyre inverted for some reason ? maybe an issue with your steering wheen button electronics.

hmm that db7 looks like an mx5 melting in the sun

Reckon you should try get one with motorsport bumpers if you can. like this http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/...n-365868606.htm

cheers fellas Really good, suit the car really well and grip and side wall makes for excellent grip. the car is go cart spec now. I had these on the e46/330 in the same profile and really helped for handling over top of the usual tires. You just need to keep the tire pressures up is all. (bought 38-45 depending)

I dont think anyones argueing e60's or older 1 series here. We are talking about the FXX series of cars Any car Humpadink is designing are starting to look more and more confused. None of them have had their lights done properly and this latest 1 series is starting to look something that was designed out of china or korea. (no offense intended) The lifted lines and drapped sheet look is getting a bit tiresome and weird. Im sure theyll come out with a msport model that will hopefully sort it out but bmw m-technik has their work cut out for them with this one. ok this is bad ... rear design lifted from subaru WRX, and whats up with all that space in the front under the lights, dont they know that bare paint on leading edges is a recipe for stone chips ?

about to change mine ... you can code the LCM to not scan the fogs however its handy to know.

Not long now ... time to get that DVB-T MPEG4/H264 TV module working over ibus control

please post price in original post. Forum rules sorry. cheers

On its own unfortunitly not as it uses the 16 pint OBDII plug frame work and speaks BMW DS2. You will need the BMW 20 pin 'round' plug connector. Also im not sure it supports your Bosch M3.3 ECU because of this. This software is more suited to cars with 16pin sqaure plugs and built 2000 onwards.

hmmmm dam .. knew this new '6 series' bender BMW designers are on at the moment would spread teh aids across the new FXX range ... Looks like busted atshole Mind you, nothing a full front bumper/cowling wouldnt fix.
