Switching off cold check wont turn off the LED flickering problem. When you switch off cold monitoring your telling the LCM not to trigger the fault however the check on the lighting circuit is still performed. Unfortunately its a side effect off going to CCFL or LED

Hi, Take it you mean you want to talk to devices on your ibus network. There isnt a computer so to speak that you connect too, there are lots of things. You need: Navcoder Ibus interface such as a resler interface or make one (see navcoder download for circuit diagram) and an entry point to your ibus network. Easiest is connecting to your CD stacker input. White is the ibus line.

The biggest problem with these gearboxes is cooling. If your gearbox cooling system is all up to scratch and you are towing weight with-in the chassis limits their should be no problem. Problems come when people tow with a fault heat exchanger and/or radiator cooling issues (used as part of the GB cooling solution) Other issues are if you have worn drums and/or valve guide body causing thumps thus loading up the auto clutch packs in-turn causing more heat and degrading or breaking down the auto trans-fluid.

Great work! someone had too! See if you can get them to make it stereo too you can use the cassette or CD inputs. Also if you need any help with the ibus side of things let us know and happy help to test as well.

Nice work Adas. Now bring your e39 m5 out to the Hampton track day on the 24th ... Its a good relaxed day you can do at your own pace.

Perfect, Ill start saving now. -
With aftermarket lights not quite true. You can open up the projector globe (be very careful while pulling to peices) and inverse the mask plate to swap the pattern to RHD. The projector mask is upside down as when you project an image it works is exactly like an old movie projector. You need to get the curve the same radius as not to loose focus of the 'sharp' masked line projected on a fence. I used a bake bean tin to bend the mask back the other way (youll see what I mean) I did this to the e46 when I bought p46 xenon lights from jleviSW.com which use the Depo housing and internals I think I did a write up about it somewhere .. its been years so I cant remember where it is.

Ill be looking at a double day too.

What are you after in a car? I would say if your looking at the 5 series you after something thats not going to be used on the race track but will be used everyday but still want the M or motorsport feel. It will be about as good as you can get for the best of both worlds. Having your cake and eating it too. TBH im not sure anything else will be as good. There will be many nearly as good's that will come along but as history shows with the 5 series, everyone else copies and nearly hits the mark. Merc wont develope their mind set from auto gearboxes, Audi wont let understeer go and Lexus is japanese and not a euro. Porcshe is about the only company I know who are in the same price bracket with their Panamera

HallBM could convert this to manual for you as is .. no second gearbox needed. Would just need a recode to elminate the SMG control unit.

Swapped from a rather modified e46 330i to a NZ 540i Motorsport (01 e39 540iA SE). Car came fully spec'd had the usual issue with it but nothing thats hard to fix. (water pump, thrush arms, usual oil leaks) but you get that at 128ks on these cars. One thing I dont miss from the jap spec cars is the IR remote key. Radio everytime for me from now on. NZ cars have fold down rear seats, jap and singapore dont. erm, mine being an NZ motorsport came with all the m5 body work including folding egg shaped mirrors. Not to sure on some of these 'jap' car claims .. you get what you pay for really. Pretty easy to see how a car has been treated if you know what your looking for. The only thing is look for serivce history on any e39. That is service history from competent shops suchs as dealers and good indy shops like BM workshop etc. If you get one thats been in NZ for a bit with proper service history .. I think youll be alright. and you should always go get a pre-purchase inspection done. not much else to say accpet get the most spec'd up one you can afford and the 6 vs v8 thing isnt really an arguement as some might want you to believe, at the end of the day it comes down to fuel economy. Yes the v8 is mildy heavier but seriously pisses on anything around. the m62TU motor really makes a difference over the non TU.
