Right so another one I can pretty much tick off the list. I got a pre-purchase inspection of the 325i with the msport kit all around. Outside it's in very good condition, interior wise it's pretty good too with black leather. However, there's a pretty big list of things needed to do: - Corrosion in the front suspension and battery trays in both front (where the battery was) and rear in the boot. - Brake houses would need replacing - Leaking oil from the engine and transmission - Noisy engine tappets - Handbreak wont release - Wheel Guards missing at the front. - Steering ball joints would need to be replaced - Fuel gauge didn't seem to be working. Seems a little too much to fix up, especially considering I would be flying down from Auckland to Christchurch and driving back up. The car itself I would have been paying $5000-$5500 for. The thing I liked about this car was the good conditioned exterior with full msport kit and the black leather interior but now I'm thinking it's just not worth it.

I've been keeping an eye on that too. Seems very cheap.

Yeah I do like the SA added options (my last e30 was an SA) but not too worried about it. At this stage I would rather have a nice and tidy body in a colour I like as a clean canvas.

Yeah I'm not after anything dodgy, so if he thinks that, then like you say, there's probably plenty more corners cut. I might just pick up the M325 from Christchurch. Full recent body work and respray by Auto Restorations, new trans and radiator. Been serviced regularly with the last being last month with new oil change and filter and a new shock absorber. Only issues is the locks which I'm sure wont be too difficult to fix, and leaks a little bit of power steering fluids which shouldn't be to much of a problem. This one just looks a lot better looked after then most the other e30's I've looked at, and being a tidy, standard car, I can build it up to how I want and to my standards, without the dodgy work gone into the ones I've seen. For the amount I'll spend on it, I'll have plenty left over to hopefully fix those few issues, and sort out a new set of wheels at least. Oh and it's auto but I'm sure sometime along the way that will change.

Heard back from this guy today too. He said that it's got no cert cause it doesn't need one to pass wof's cause they don't notice it. Apparently runs hot too so think I'll pass on that one too.

Looking to spend around $6,000. Will go up to $7k for a nice one. Looked at the "320I4" today and it's pretty nice but seems way too much work that needs to be done. The body work is pretty bad with a lot of poorly cut out rust spots and no headliner/pillars covers. Seemed to be leaking a little oil or something out near the closest spark plug to the driver.

I haven't seen that one, but someone else form here just messaged me saying he's selling a pre-facelift coupe with a 535 engine in it which I would be pretty interested in. Only thing about that one from wheedle is it seems way too cheap? Going to see the original car from this thread tomorrow so I'll see how that goes. Thanks for that but after something a little more then just a standard E30, preferably with an Mtech kit too. Willing to go up to $7,000 depending on the car.

Dug up a couple more old threads. Still very unsure about this car. I really like it, but seems like something's not quite right, especially considering CarJam is saying it's had over 750,000km's worth of odometer decreases.

Perfect, thanks for that Blair. Cage was obviously removed at some stage? Hmmm I wonder if any of them would know about the KM's? The last couple changes were in 2007 and 2009.

Thanks for that. The guy seems nice enough but he didn't know about the km's either. He has over 15k worth of receipts (not sure if it's from him or previous owners) and ride height has all been certed.

Is this anyones from here? Or does anyone know anything about this car? I'm considering buying it but the carjam odometer readings are a little odd. Should I be worried about it? Hmmm not too sure on that. It would be easier to pay someone to put them in for you. My uncle and I took them out and put my new springs on ourselves but we had a reasonable idea of what to do.

Too bad about the colour, else it would be perfect!

I'm looking to buy an e30 over the next week, preferably facelift. I would also prefer a coupe in either black or white, but will look at anything for now. Wanting to spend around $6,500 max. Let me know what you have!
