Looks good mate, just needs a massive adjustable rear wing on it now!!
-
According to police, the duo were known to use several aliases and drove a rare two-door silver BMW, registration GGN840. http://i.stuff.co.nz/national/crime/10129561/Pilot-on-the-run-from-police
-
In another article about that couple it was described as a "rare" BMW. I Carjamed the plate and was registered in nz as an E46 M3 4WD??? Vin decode on BMW archive said RWD of course.

Great for towing I guess
-
very nice car, GLWS. Hey thanks for the old 02 sensors they work well, when i finally got them in.
-
Your right they are built in same place, just funny specs sometimes. Like the jap ones with funny cloth/leather uppolstry, had a jap E36 325i with weird blue cloth and blue plastic trim and local content zf auto gear box. I also had an ex Singapore E36 M3, with all the fruit. Was fine exept ac core in dash rotted - Dash out to replace. People said to me others had trouble with imports esp with electrics from those really hot humid counties. All just opinions I guess.
-
Possibly some Asian import. Has basic specs, no tweeter speakers on the door cards, only basic trip computer.

I had very worn RTABs in my E36 M3. Running semi slicks, going around sweeper at Puke was diabolical. Turn in then half an hour later the rear would follow and then go too far, so had to dial out, then it would spring back so I had to dail in.... Awfull! Same at Hampton. Got brand new evo RTABs and vorschlag limiters, felt amazing! Precise Stable and predictable. However exactly the same lap times.
-
If ya cant get your money back for the flight just pop over there, take the car for a quick test drive, find a boat ramp and plough it into the ocean, then offer him fifty bucks for it - final offer.
-
Too many M3s to choose from all great in their own right, good buying fellas. I think ill buy a spare one. Bang for buck these cars are pretty good fun.

mine done 260k when we checked it chain had stretched a bit. ran much better after adjusting.
-
Please post up your results id be keen to see. cheers.
-
Thats a really stunning car dude, well done. Mechanical ability and OCD produce amazing things.
-
No, that would cost more than the chip.
-
He definitely made them aware of that in detail and waiting response....First response was Ahh too many K's. It was almost on 200k.
-
Yup, he not happy. Considering he has done probably more than half a million K's in 4 x X5s this one just out of service plan, decided to run it a bit more before swapping up and kaboom.

Yes apparently "fault fixed" was specification of parts/materials/ tolerances of units built over a 20 month period. So party to blame but combine this with weasled oil caused faster lunching. Hey all just interweb guesses not BMW official media releases. Changing oil often can only be good. And warranty is the key if you can't afford a freaking huge repair bill
-
Yes agree its a major to change or check, geee my mate sure wishes he had a warranty right now, considering its a NZ new truck not long out of BMW comprehensive maintenance, FSH. After seeing that mess if i owned one i would A ) change the oil more frequently than recomeneded B ) warranty.

Warning for all you M57 owners and N57, mates X5 M57 twin turbs just snapped the timing chain and totally lunched the motor valves ect $12k. Google that and it's not uncommon. Fault supposed to be corrected 10/2010 onward. Possible long oil services to partly to blame. Disiel blow by watering down oil viscosity. To check timing chain (at back of motor). Step 1) remove engine .......

mine were identical and sold on trademe for $550

Its only like 160 hp NA, 8 seconds to 100k so not anywhere in the league of an e36 m3 more like a 325i at best. They were cool in their time, based from the 1981 Renault Fuego (barf). My mate had a Fuego Turbo! A real space ship in its day i tell you, good fodder for my 1984 Cordia 1.6 carberated Turbo. Almost as cool as my uncles Isusu Piazza.

Great Job! i did this on my S50B30 not too long ago and bought the S62 cup washer for behind the splined sprocket housing. I couldn't slide the sprocket off as it wouldnt slide far enough to get it off before it hit the front of the head. Thought it was a B30 Vs B32 thing, as the Besain instructions are all photos of the B32. But looking at your photo you havent got much room to slide them off the cam either, i assume your replacing them as i think i can see them in your first photo on the opposite end of the table from the schooner of wine... Please let me know how you get on or with a photo if you have a clean hand free when you get to that. Good luck with he rest of it!

reasonably priced low mileage US spec M3

Its a Japanese import, and apparently.... "Japanese people love cars and love Exotic, European and American cars off which 90% are all LHD. The higher end Euro and Exotics are all guarenteed to be LHD while some off the smaller models such as 3 series BMW’s and C Class Mercedes will be a 50/50 mixture off RHD & LHD. In Japan you can drive either RHD or LHD."
