What do you guys think about these? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.as...amp;permanent=0 (pics of my car can be found at http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....howtopic=25572) Will these fit my 540? are they the same offset (+20)? Zenetti: How much for some hubcentric rings? (I assume I'll require them...) How much can I expect to pay for a set of 5? (I'd grab the spare as well if it's available..) Also can someone tell me what style they are so I can find them on here: http://www.kalach.easynet.be/

Oh so tempting... what would I do with the 540 though, seems like such a shame to sell it already

Petrol Used: 95 Octane Engine Size: 8 Cyl, 4L Trans: Auto Car Year: 1994 According to my cars computer, average fuel consumption over the last ~3000km has been 15.3l/100k =6.5km/litre Mostly short trips around town, but a couple of ~100km trips out of town. Not bad for an old V8 haha.

Thanks, fan speed control is working fine, temperature control seems to work fine, even the front windscreen demister works! There just seems to be a lack of airflow coming through the air vents!

Colour is Fiord grey (I think). I'll get some interior shots up when the weather comes right and I can clean it! Plans; get a set of staggered wheels, 17x8 for the front and 17x9's for the rear, anyone selling any? After that, no idea, it's such a nice car to drive as it is I'm not sure what could improve it... When I get my next car (and some money...) I'd love to supercharge this one, but not while it's my daily... lol thanks bellicose, didn't even notice! It's a 540iA SE, leather, electric seats, aircon, autodim rear vision mirror, electric side mirrors, electric windows, it has the console computer thing that gives you info like average fuel consumption, average speed etc. 6 disc cd changer in boot. uhh yeah that's about it.. everything is factory std on it as far as I'm aware.

lol, he's blatantly trying to flog them off to some poor person that has no idea... p.s. anyone want to buy the set of wheels off my 540... they're about the same size as 16" wheels Ah I should probably seriously look at replacing my wheels anyway

very jealous. My next car will definitely be an estate.

but I thought I'd post some pics up anyway. The car is NZ new, 2 owners. 145k

Hello knowledgeable folk, Just in the last 2 or 3 days I noticed the car wasn't keeping me cool like it normally does... Initially I thought it was the air conditioning system (would make sense), except I've noticed now that even when I put the fans on full, there still does not seem to be a large volume of air coming out. There is a lot of fan noise, but not a lot of air, this is the same case whether I set the temperature to hot, cold, and have the aircon on or off. To be honest I can't remember what the fans usually felt like on full power, but it really feels like there is not enough air coming out to cool or heat the car effectively, regardless of whether the aircon was cooling the air or not. Any ideas? or should I just take it in to get checked by chch bmw

is there a place in christchurch that offers this service? and if not, anywhere else in the south island? cheers

The leak was coming through a gap in the seal in the windscreen, like you had suggested, cheers Took it to the mechanic and got it sealed up. Central locking / alarm etc started working again after i removed the mirror and dried it out, fingers crossed it keeps working. (sorry Ray!)

looks OEM, my 540i came with one as well

Thanks for your guys help, I left the mirror in front of the heat pump for a couple of hours to dry it out, put it back into the car and it seems to be working! so fingers crossed it stays that way. Now I need to find the source of the leak... How can I check to see if the windscreen is the cause of the leak? All the water came through the cable route for the rear vision mirror, does this give you any info as to whether the leak is more likely to be sunroof or windscreen? Could the car being parked on a slope simply have caused the rain to spill over the sunroof drains and into where the cables are run (if they even pass through that area?) Thanks for the help!

A 94/95 540i one? I think they were different to the others, my car has the infrared two button remote and the sensor is on the mirror, as well as the autodim obviously. Haven't found the leak yet, the car is always garaged so when it is sunny i will get it out and have a look
-
Thanks, I removed the mirror, but is there anyway to open it up to help it to dry out, i removed the 3 screws but it still seems stuck together pretty well... Anyone got a replacement mirror for sale
-
So the situation has got much worse, as I mentioned the water was dripping down from the rear vision mirror, what I didn't realise was that it must have filled up inside the mirror, my central locking no longer works and nor does the auto dim function on the mirror. I guess the electricals got corroded Is there any way to take the mirror out / apart to try and dry it out, i think there's still water in it. edit: I got the mirror out, the connectors are rusted... opening the mirror unit itself up now... I guess I'm going to be up for buying a new mirror unit, though I doubt I can even get them new? And I'm still not sure what caused the water to come through the way it did part # for mirror 51168193885

Ah I just noticed that gap there, I'm sure there used to be like a cup thing covering it... can anyone with an e34 confirm that they have a small connecting element in the center of their windscreen at the top? edit: The connecting element is still there, and I'm sure the car has always had the gap and never leaked. I'm thinking sunroof drains partially blocked, so parking on a slope caused an excess of water to flow to the front ones. I will have a look at them tomorrow.

I had my car parked on about a 30 degree incline yesterday evening, front of car pointing downhill. It was parked there for a couple of hours, in reasonably heavy rain. When I got back into the car I noticed the gear shifter / area around it was wet. Further investigation found that the water was running through the inside of the stalk of the rear vision mirror (where the wires are for autodim), and dripping off the bottom of the mirror. Carpet around the area on the roof appeared to be dry. Help (1994 e34, electric sunroof)

Got the bulb changed no worries (no idea why i couldn't get the light housing to come out the first time, came out easily the second time) But it didn't fix the problem, so I'm thinking it's a wiring problem, I assume there isn't a separate fuse for each license plate light... (the other light works fine)
-
yep, dash told me, and quick visual confirmed
-
thanks, so this is from the outside of the car right?
-
10 grand, 10 grand!? are you sure... what was it, a ferrari?
-
someone must know, or is it so obvious how to do it that no one can even be bothered to answer I just want to be sure before i try to pull the light housing out... it seems to be pretty stiff / hard to get out, is it only the two screws on the outside that i remove?
